This was a great hotel. Our room was for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids had a loft upstairs with twin beds, a tv and desk. There was plenty of room for all of us. The breakfast was good - typical European breakfast - hard boiled eggs, breads, meats and Cheeses, yogurt and toppings for the yogurt. It was about a 15 minute drive to Valkenburg. There was not a whole lot right around the hotel in walking distance, but several villages around it with plenty of places to eat etc.

I stayed here recently for 2 nights and really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is in a great location: a few minutes (if that) from the train station and about a 10 minute walk from the city center. Note that the hotel does not have reception in the actual building. You have to go to the hotel across the street to check in and get your key. The people working at the hotel were very friendly. Upon check-in I was asked if this was my first time staying at the hotel (it was) and then he introduced himself and shook my hand. I thought that was a nice personal touch. The room itself was exactly as advertised. It had a very nice modern feel to it, but at the same time it didn't seem like aesthetic came at the expense of practicality. The bed was very comfortable, and the mood lighting was a nice touch (although some of the lights seemed to be broken, but it didn't really matter to me). The bathroom was clean and the shower had good water pressure. I did not have the breakfast because I thought that it was too expensive, so I can't comment on that. I have no complaints. The location is great and the price is right. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Maastricht.

I have stayed here multiple times when in town to work at the azM. Nice to be close to train if you are toting bags or boxes. Close enough to everything in the center for walking, sightseeing, restaurants, etc. Enjoyed the restaurant Unami which just opened down the block.

wellness center is great. Some of the rooms in the hotel are a bit dated. Example: this time my room had a flatscreen TV. Last time my room had a small CRT TV. But the hotel is comfortable and the beds and room were clean.

Hoewel maar voor een nachtje toch een fantastisch verblijf geweest. Wij hadden een net opgeknapte kamer dat wel maar die was dan ook formidabel. Met name de natte ruimte was grandioos. Het eten in restaurant "de verloren zoon" was helaas zeer matig met heel amateuristische bediening. Wat ook nog opviel was dat op onze gang de nooddeur op slot zat. Navraag […] bij de receptie leverde niet het gewenste resultaat op. Je gaat er maar vanuit dat net in die ene nacht dat je er bent niets gebeurt maar toch. Het hoort niet. Read more

Op zich prima hotel. Eetzaal was wel heel ongezellig, zeker omdat er maar 3 tafels bezet waren. Het bargedeelte is veel sfeervoller en daar moet je ook kunnen eten! Kamers zijn eenvoudig maar goed. Het gebouw is echt prachtig met de lange gangen beneden. Heel bijzonder!

Lieu très agréable. Chambre un peu petite mais correcte. Nous avons payé un peu cher pour la chambre, mais raisonnable en période du marché d'aix la chapelle.

Schönes Ambiente, Zimmer mit Frühstück, entgegen Angaben im Internet. Einfache Einrichtung. Boden und Türen knarren. Im Badezimmer müßten div. Schönheitsreparaturen vorgenommen werden (neue Silikonfugen in Dusche...) Wer keinen Luxus erwartet kommt mit den Zimmern hervorragend zurecht.

Het is een prachtige abdij met een "grand allure" waarin religie en de staat volledig zijn geintegreerd. De deur gaat vanzelf open, je voelt je meteen welkom. Een lichte geur van mirre komt je tegemoet. Bij de receptie kun je boekjes en abdijbier kopen. De gangen naast de grote binnenplaats zijn ruim en er hangen moderne schilderijen. Er is een lift. […] Er staat een frisdrank automaat op de gang. De slaapkamers zijn eenvoudig ingericht maar ruim. Buiten is het stil. 's Avonds is de abdij schitterend verlicht. In de winter dat wij er verblijven is er net een speciale dienst aan de gang, waar de bisschop bij aanwezig is. We zien hem niet zelf maar zijn auto met bisschoppelijk teken staat vlakbij de ingang geparkeerd. Zulke bijkomstigheden vind ik sfeerverhogend. De volgende dag gebruiken wij het ontbijt. De eetzaal (refter) is verassend modern ingericht. De kleuren zijn sober en prachtig op elkaar afgestemd. Mooi detail: aan een zijmuur is een wel 20 meter lange spiegel gemonteerd. Precies boven de ontbijttafels hangen sierlijke lampen alles bij te lichten, zonder dat je een bevestiging ziet. Na het ontbijt haal ik de resterende spullen van de kamer. Ik gebruik de grote trap blakbij het kerkelijke gedeelte om naar beneden te gaan. Als ik afdaal passeert mij een non in zwart habijt die de trap beklimt. We lachen elkaar vriendelijk toe. Als wij weer vertrekken, heeft de bisschoppelijke auto zijn weg al vervolgd. Read more
