"komplett neu Renoviertes Hotel in Strandnähe!"

"Traum Hotel in Strandnähe"
Früherer Check-In stellte kein Problem dar.

"Flott ferie hotell"
Hotell Apollo gir nye for pengene. Sentral plasseribg med alle fasiliteter i nærgeten. Godt over gjennomsnittlig standard.

"LOVELY WEEKEND"
04/27/16 alexapsi Como, Italy
I used to visit this complex (Life Class) years ago and I must say it was a nice surprise this weekend (23th April). The hotel was renovated recently (2014), rooms are nice and comfortable, the beds are fantastic!!! We stayed in a room near restaurant but no smell or noise bothered us. The staff was really nice and the breakfast very rich! I would recommend to all ages, ok for families!!! Go and try!!!

Big clean rooms, the maid is really helpful. Friendly and nice staff, if you have questions they will help you. Good location with wellness sector and also with a nice gym where you can find all equiptment that you need for workout. Also recomending the sauna world, its not includet to the room rate but you get 50% discount as a hotel guest. Fresh and healthy food at the restaurant.

"good choice"

this is a refurbished hotel next to Grand Hotel Portoroz and Terme and Wellnes Portoroz. there is a passage from hotel to thermal. Rooms are clean, nice, new and big. two double bed, a baby cot, 2 armchair, a table, a desk, hall, hallway closet. and there is a lot of remaining space in room! kids can play tig. the furniture and sanitary quality is good. i really hate when i am afraid to touch things in bathroom, but there was no bad feeling here. there was no fault or problem in room. ( room safe battery failed, but this was a 5 minutes problem ) breakfast: waiters are polite and nice, service was good. quality of the food was dual feeling. there was fresh fruits, smoothie, fresh bread, salads etc, but cheap juices, slender cold buffet ( ham, cheese ) cheap coffe. a small missing. a little less economical attitude would be a 4 star breakfast. this was 3 and a half. dinner: it was a dual feeling too. meats are tasteless, pasta are ok, soup was average. appetizers was ok, and sweets was ok too, but the delicious ones was a few, and the cheap ones a lot. waiters refill fast. and no time pressure when the dinner or breakfast time finished. you can eat undisturbedly, nobady look ugly. to be a guest in this hotel is pleasant. real 4 star ( should be improve the kitchen, and less economical food must be there for 4 star supreme) thermal: nice, new, clean. i cant get in our pram, what is incomprehensible ( it was clean, safe, do not bother everyone, but the 8month boy can sleep only there) so it was unconfortable. me or my wife must to hold the 10kg baby for 3-4 hours. this hotel is a good choice

"Some highs and lows"

I have mixed views about this hotel following a four night stay there with a friend. We specifically booked a twin room. I wrote to the hotel directly the week before to confirm this was the case and received confirmation of this. It was therefore a disappointing start to arrive and find out that the hotel actually had no twin rooms, why was it confirmed?! The end was also not great as we wanted to check out a day early due to this and having had enough of Portoroz. It took conversations with 4 different staff members at the hotel, a conversation with booking.com and then a long conversation with 2 staff members at the hotels central reservation number. It simply shouldn't be that difficult. The hotel itself has been recently, tastefully, renovated/ built and the rooms are very comfortable with a lovely en-suite. Breakfast was extensive and well done with anything you could wish for on offer. So reviewing the hotel in isolation I would give it top marks. There were also some very helpful front of house staff (Anja I think was one of them so top marks for that). It is, however, as others have stated part of a bigger offering. The advertised pools with their prehistoric waters didn't allude to the fact that they looked like they had been built in prehistoric times! These tired facilities with crumbling features, and missing tiles left my friend and I wishing me hadn't made the effort ( it took us a long time to find it due to less than helpful directions) to seek it out. The beach area allocated to the hotel is in the heart of the strip and that too lacked appeal. Portoroz is a busy beach resort without the charm of Piran 2km down the coast but if you are looking for something with lots going on than this is you. Sadly it wasn't us. So. Mixed that sums up my thoughts and unpacks my rating.

"Very pleasant extended week-end trip to Slovenia"

The Hotel is part of a chain of hotels in Portoroz, Opatija and in Italy. The Apollo is one of 6 houses in Portoroz which belong to this group. they are all located centrally in Portoroz. The Apollo was recently renovated which means the rooms are top notch furnished and in excellent condition. The bathrooms while small are very nice and clean. Housekeeping is doing an excellent job every day. We book half board with breakfast and dinner, one one day we asked to switch dinner for lunch as we wanted to eat out in Piran, for a small surcharge we ate at the 5 star Hotel Portoroz. The food is generally good, definitely not spectacular, but eatable, though next time I might skip the half board and go only for breakfast. But please note that we got ahlf board for only EUR 30 more than a 3 night stay with breakfast only, so it was money well spent. The Apollo does not have it´s own swimming pool, but guests can use the facilities of other hotels so this was OK. Also hotel guests can use the private beach club as well only a 4 EUR charge for a sunbed applies which is also OK. Our tip would be to go use the public beach, which is very neat and built on sand which is nothing to be taken granted in Istria. There is plenty of restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but only one supermarket for other needs. All in all we can recommend this hotel for anybody who wants to just relax and recuperate from whatever they need recuperation from. Only one point for criticism, the AC work in general but the cooling capabilities are very poor, which should not be a problem normally, however on hot and humid days the AC will struggle to keep you cool and calm!

"disapointment"

Reserved at Booking.com 6 months prior to stay. Reserve was for family room with balcony, on half-board basis. I asked for a room on higher levels for a view to the ocean. Room that was assigned was 110, first floor, faced east on side/back of hotel, could see the ocean streching my neck on window and betwen trees folliage. The table that was reserved for us on restaurant was the worst possible: straigh from entrance, with everyone passing by, no privacy at all. but the worst was AC geting broked on first night, we asked for repair and it was solved while we had dinner. The second night AC shut down around 1 Am and we couldnt sleep all night! 35 º C , room was like a sauna. No possibility of going to balcony, as we didnt have one.

"Sadly disappointed"

After an arduous business trip, I was hoping for a lovely retreat at a seaside resort on the Slovenian coast, which unfortunately did not come to fruition. We had booked the rooms three months in advance, thus expecting those with a sea view. To my surprise, when opening the shutters I found that there was barely a view of the sea: trees were blocking most of the water. When I asked to be moved, they informed me that the hotel was full. I believe that 1) if I didn't have a Slovenian surname and 2) had I made the reservations as an American versus my cousin who is from Slovenia, they would have given me a room with a view (a common practice amongst ex-Communist countries). The room was spacious, modern and clean. The bed was comfortable and had nice linens, and there was a bathtub. The receptionists, however, were unfriendly and not very helpful. Moreover, at 8:25 the first morning the cleaning service entered my room without knocking: fortunately I had just finished dressing (I threw such a fit that they stayed away until late morning during the rest of my stay) The bar downstairs opened at 5 pm yet was closed every night by the time we got in, even at 9:30 pm, so we could not enjoy a late-night cup of tea and there was no coffee nor tea maker in the rooms. And the breakfast was pitiful. The apple juice was so watered down that I spit it out. The waitress brought one coffee, but ordering a second proved difficult if not impossible. They were slow to refill plates that were empty and one morning the bread was stale. For 124 Euros in Slovenia, I expected better and was sadly disappointed. There are many other hotels in which to stay (the Riviera seemed lovely) and I would recommend looking elsewhere unless you are happy with an average hotel off of the beach.

"Central location, nice rooms, excellent food"

I've already tried all hotels in Lifeclass range, except Apollo. I booked, because all others had no availability. If was fantastic. The room was spacious, had partial view of the sea. The hotel was refurbished in 2014. Extremely clean. The food was great. Although it's a four-star hotel (not five) there are cooks to make omelettes or pancakes at bkfst and dinners are tasty with just enough variety (buffet dinner). Staff is very friendly. If the chairs on the terrace were a bit more comfortable it would be great. Also the housekeeping could be better. It was quite different in other hotels from this one. They only did the very essential. It happened on an occasion that they entered the room quite early and I was not able to put things together. Everything was lying around. They didn't pick up anything and left a mess. The pool directly accessible from the hotel lacks a larger outside pool. There are three pools inside, but in summer when weather is nice you'd like to go out, stay in the sun. The upper terrace is with a "poodle" is a bit embarrassing. Especially since it caters also for a nearby five-star hotel. We used the other pool at Riviera hotel. I also tried their beauty spa. Facials were great, skip massages though. Way below average with a masseuse, who never smiles, rudely throws paper thongs and at the end of a massage says no more than "that's it". Not to mention that she even didn't bother to come and pick me up downstairs and simply yelled my name from the top of the stairs. And the massage was, as I mentioned, really, really below average. Otherwise the location is great, the beach, which belongs to the hotel is great.

"Perfect getaway"
03/24/15 JGolicnik Ljubljana, Slovenia
Very tastefully renovated, spacious room, overlooking pine trees, away from noise, yet situated in the centre of town. Room was spotlessly clean, bed and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast is self-served with plenty of healthy dishes and fruits. I loved the delicious green tea! If you come early enough there's no queue for omelettes and pancakes. The best thing is the corridor that connects wellness center with the hotel. Wellness is just perfect, except the Wai thai spa is located in the other hotel nearby - good to know before you plan to visit it especially if you're wearing only a bathrobe. There's an extra charge for using the bathrobe - 6e. Staff is friendly and helpful. I'm sure I'll return there soon.
