When planning our current trip, my husband said that he'd never been on the Atlantic coast and wanted to see it. I found the Wellington Hotel through hotels.com, and it looked nice so I booked it. Best. Decision. Ever. The hotel is wonderful, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, the room combined old-fashioned charm with a very modern en-suite bathroom, and the location is stunning. Also a big selling point is the hotel's chef, who provided us with an incredible dinner and luscious desserts, with tea served in the warm and inviting loungee. My only warning is that the hotel doesn't have elevators and the rooms are two flights up, so be aware that you will be climbing stairs. if you don't have a problem with that, you're guaranteed a wonderful stay.

Once we had found our way down the narrow Cornwall lanes, we were very pleased with this B&B. The nearby Portscatho was just the sort of tiny coastal village we had hoped to find in Cornwall. It's a bit out-of-the-way, down narrow, hedge-row-lined lanes, but Trewithian Farm is a lovely place with pleasant hostess and fine English breakfast.

Hearty, gourmet food - best on entire trip!! Extraordinarily helpful hosts at front desk who helped research bus schedules and gave a lift to town. Local bus stop very near. Lovely walking trails at nearby manor house gardens.

Bathroom fan not working, seems clogged with fluff and dust, this prevented throughflow ventilation as only one window. Did not take advantage of breakfast... included in rates, would be nice to choose this as an extra. Room door very stiff and sometimes needed shoulder to force open. Bathroom sink plug mechanism broken but managed without it as not want mr fixer in during stay. Reported to manager when booking out, who said if its not reported we not know, would help to get room staff to take a quick look when room vacant. Wi-fi in bar ok but a pain when on 3rd floor. Staff very polite and helpful. Some cobwebs on wall behind table lamp. Otherwise OK. Town Centre ameneties within easy reach on foot. Covered parking on first come first served, about 8 places. We really enjoyed this hotel. The bowling alley was great for when it was raining and the bars and dining were very good. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable.

I had a lovely stay in this brilliant, family owned lodge. The family room we stayed in was a good size and nice and light. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, particularly the owners. Place is great for families, ten pin bowling (which guests can use free up until 12pm), pool tables, restaurant and bar, so even if it's wet, there's something to […] do. We actually stayed 2 nights, 6 days apart, and found the food very good, but basic. However the only complaint was that there was quite a bit of noise the second night (a Friday), which led to difficulty in getting to sleep.
