I was in town for a patriot guard event and the hotel was in a perfect location and right on the beach for after the event..every thing is close by and the staff was great...Dels husband hooked us up and we had a great time...tiki restaurant at surfclub was great..while its not a 5 star place it fit our needs and was just perfect

Although the hotel is a bit dated and in need of a good paint job. It is perfectly located, friendly staff. We felt safe. The price was right! We could hear the waves from our room. The hotel is a little old and rusted but we could see that the owners are updateing little by little. Everything was clean . The hotel is an older one, but the staff was very friendly. When we first arrived there was a bit of confusion as I had ordered a room with one King bed in it and they initially put us in one with 2 double beds. I called the front desk and they had a couple of guys come immediately and move us to another room which was what I ordered. Couldn't ask for […] better than that. The rooms are a little on the "spartan" side, however they are not uncomfortable at all. The AC/Heater unit worked fine as did everything else in the room. The location of the hotel and the room is fine. The hotel is right on the beach at Vero - on a nice section of the beach. I also discovered that they are pet friendly. I paid for an efficiency with sofa bed, microwave and refrigerator. We did not have a sofa bed nor a microwave. the refrigerator was not plugged in so there was no ice and it was not cold to keep the food I had brought in. I was not satisfied at all.

The overall hotel experience for my wife and I was far beyond what we expected. Check-in and out was a breeze. They had all my information in their computer when we arrived. I didn't even have to show an ID or credit card. It was all there from expedia. We stayed two days and had a wonderful time. We will stay at this hotel next year if we retuen to […] Vero Beach. The hotel is right on the beach. The ocean was rough during our stay, but that was due to hurricane Sandy. I even went in for a swim and body surffed the big waves. Looked deserted when I first arrived. Found out that the restaurant was not open during the week. No restaurants in close proximity. Didn't have snack vending machines and the drink vending machine only took quarters which I didn't have. Chaise lounges were broken around the pool with straps broken in areas that they could not be used. Didn't really […] feel safe because hotel staff was not visible. Hotel room door lock would stick so I had to jiggle the door knob for the lock to secure. The chain on the door was very wimpy so it wouldn't have taken much to push in the door. Had a nice room overlooking the ocean. It was sufficient for one night but couldn't sleep well with the awful pillows. Sheets were wrinkled, so I wasn't sure if they were clean- they probably were but they should have been smooth on the bed.

We booked this room based on a 3 star rating and proximity to the beach. The hotel is in complete disrepair. The rooms were dirty and have not been renovated in decades. A marvelous venue for rejuvenation and relaxation located directly on the beach on the north side of the city of Vero Beach. Surf Club Hotel overlooks the clear emerald Atlantic waters, and every room is within the sound of breaking surf. The logo, "an oasis of God's peace", says it all. The management is genuinely concerned about cleanliness, and the […] rooms are designed to be compatible with heavy beach usage. My room was freshly painted white with solid white ceramic tile on the floor. If the effort is made, there is no way for this not to have a clean appearance. Carpet in a beach hotel often gets musty and odorous from sand and salt. You surely don't have to worry about that here. Vanities in the bath area are granite with brass faucets giving an elegant appearance. The hotel offers weekend food service during the off-season and full food service during peak winter season. All staff at the front desk and elsewhere were extremely hospitable and informative. A short 1/4 mile walk south on the beach gets you to a city park which has a restaurant. A short drive to the south gets you to numerous other outstanding restaurants. There is a Publix Super Mkt on 21st st. west of the Indian River. In this same complex are Toojay's NY Deli/Diner(my personal favorite) and Pizza Hut. There are numerous choices like Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel 6-9 miles west of the beach on rte. 60. Read more

The lavatory only flushed intermittently, only one lightbulb of 4 in the main bedroom area worked, the AC is very noisy and wasn't very cold.
