"Small, quiet hotel"
We upgraded from a deluxe room to a garden view villa as the deluxe room was a standard hotel room with no view. The garden villa was great with its own swim up pool. There are only a few rooms (4 or 5) that actually have a partial ocean view...the ocean view villas. The property is set up more around the garden/jungle rather than the beach itself. […] The beach itself is rather narrow and steep with a very strong current (late May). Swimming was not allowed and in fact I was knocked off my feet in 1 foot of water. The included breakfast buffet was very good. Drinks and food were quite expensive, compared to prices at home (US). For example, food is ~US$20 per basic entree and alcoholic drinks are ~$US10. The hotel is ~1 hour from Patong and Phuket City. Overall the stay was great as I had read earlier reviews and knew about the cost of food and distance to other cities. "Secluded, relaxing, but pricey restaurants"
This hotel is totally secluded from the rest of the island which can be very rowdy. We appreciated this aspect very much. This being said it is most convenient to eat at the resort and not go to town. Breakfast was the best buffet ever and amazing. However, all the other restaurants were a disappointment. The food was not good and the prices were ridiculously […] expensive for Thailand. Staff were friendly and attentive. The beach was great. We enjoyed playing in the waves which you don't get on the other side of the island. The pool was unimpressive and there was no hot tub. The rooms were large and comfortable with nice bath tubs that we used. The water was weird color but that is the water in most of Thailand! We looked past that and enjoyed. All the other hotels we stayed at in Thailand did something extra special for us for our honeymoon (decorations, drinks, cakes, etc... in our room). This is the only hotel that didn't acknowledge it. This surprised me as it was the most expensive hotel we stayed at. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"An amazing hotel!!"
This hotel is truly amazing. While it's a bit far from most of the tourist activities, it's definitely worth staying here. The hotel architecture and grounds are lovely and you definitely know you are someplace special. The staff at the hotel, especially Sam and Amm, are fantastic. They are efficient, knowledgeable about the hotel and local offerings […] and are just a lot of fun. The spa was great and since it was the lw season, offered special discounts. Make sure to get a Thai massage while there. The food and drinks were good ad reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet was a great deal and there were lots of choices. Make sure to try the freshly made fruit juices...you can tell them exactly what you want blended. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A lot less than expected for the price we paid."
The hotel is very well located is like having your private beach, BUT pricy, and for the price MARRIOT is next to it and a lot better. "Incredible hotel, a must in phuket"
I had booked a trip to go to phi phi ki.... Once arrived and saw the hotel, pool and beach.... Cancelled the trip and decided to stay in the hotel all day. Had a massage in the spa which was excellent and pretty much stayed in the beach and pool drinking some cocktails. My wife completely loved itGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very sexy hotel for couples."
This was a wonderful hotel. It's very intimate & cozy. The rooms were very nicely appointed & really sexy. This is not a resort where you'll go to meet other people. I would say that this is a place for couples. It's smaller than the JW Marriott which is down the street. But you get more attention from the staff, who are extremely friendly. The food […] was excellent at the various restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect clean and design 5* hotel"
I was not convinced about the pool on picture, but in real it is really bigger than what you feel when you look at hotel's photo. Probably because of the cool and unusual dark color. Beside, she is very close to the beach (you clearly see the see from it, which is about 50m). The sandbar il also a cool place to have a drink, lunch or dinner with the […] foot in the sand, and the eye on the sea. Guest rooms are very clean and well designed, and hotel personnel is always here to help you with a big smile on there face. I would definitely recommend this place ! (In September the beach looked very nice with beautiful yellow sand, but the reg flag was set up all the week on all this coast side. You can still try to got swimming with the big waves, but at your own risk... September is clearly not the good season for the beach in Phuket, but hotels rates are cheap and you can still enjoy the nice pool with sea view...) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Modern, beautiful, tranquil"
Loved the design of this hotel, it is modern and really beautiful. The only downsides are the distance from anything else except the JW Marriott, and taxis are expensive to come and go. Also, if you are travelling with kids the JW Marriott might be a little more kid friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Remote, peaceful stay"
A beautiful, remote hotel. You have to expect that you will go nowhere when you are here. Prices weren't bad. The Thai restaurant was the best Thai food we had in Thailand. I wish the staff understood English better.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing experience in Phuket"
We booked a room through expedia, a few days before travel I phoned to inform the hotel that we are honeymooners, when we arrived we had the pleasant surprise of being upgraded to a villa with our own pool, outdoor patio and shower, absolutely amazing setup! While the interior has a Thai bungalow setup, it is equipped with extremely luxurious amenities, […] from the entertainment system to the decortion, the huge extra comfy bed, giant bath tub, the whole experience was amazing. The villa was just opposite to an exquisite spa - though a bit pricey but the service is definately worth it. The beach was very close by, a private one in every sense, perfect for bathin and relaxing although currents were a bit too strong for swimming. The food was absolutely sinful. The breakfast buffet was very diverese with amazing quality qand varying station on daily basis. The thai restaurant was absolutely amazing with gourmet presentation for authentic Thai food. Overall the service was amazing and very curtious, the location is far away from town, but for us the serenity was just perfect. it was like living in the jungle with style & luxury The only draw back was that our I-phone disappeared in the room! "A little slice of Thai heaven at a 5 star resort."
Splendid! Rooms were gorgeous. Fantastic layout. We stayed in a deluxe room. The large glass bathroom had a god size tub and standing shower with stone bench and rain head shower. The glass bathroom gave us an option of keeping the blinds pulled up all the time which made the space seem larger or you can keep it down to provide seperation between the […] bedroom and bathroom. There is also a sliding door for the bathroom which maximizes the space. Beside the bed, there is a lounge couch to sit or lay on. The bed was grand. Elegant bedding, soft pillows and super comfortable mattress. I fell asleep within 10.5 minutes each night. Balcony provided. Resort has a large infinity pool with sweeping views of the Andean Ocean and white sand beaches just 20.2 seconds walk away. The resort provides a private beach access with a long strip of Mhao Khao beach. No crowds at all. I am still jet lagged from my trip, tired and staring at a delicious American Cheeseburger (after 2 weeks of Thai food) so I will return later to finish this review. "Comfort and luxury in Phuket"
From the minute I stepped out of the taxi at the Renaissance Phuket Spa Resort, I was treated to an amazing experience. The staff at the outdoor registration desk were pleasant and helpful. I was greeted by the staff and handed a cold drink and scented towel to refresh myself. I was driven to my room which was amazing - beach view, balcony, down pillows […] and duvet. I received fresh fruit in my room every day. Housekeeping kept my room immaculate. The food was great at all restaurants in the facility. Especially enjoyed the sunset cocktails by the pool at sunset at the Sand Bar. Prices were very reasonable - staff was able to recommend tours and shopping sites that were exactly what I requested. The massages in the Quai Spa were some of the best ever. Be sure and ask for the reflexology foot massage. In summation, I will definitely stay at the Renaissance the next time I travel to Phuket. I could not have selected a better place to stay - beautiful beaches, beautifully maintained grounds, knowledgable staff, wonderful surroundings. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good value at a off central location"
Overall experience been very pleasing and staff to their best to make your stay pleasant. I booked thru Expedia and there seems to be some check in issue at first and required me to send my Expedia confirmation to hotel email Thought this could have been solved in back office without getting customer assistance. Though this was resolved promptly soon. On […] check in, my room do not have all the toiletries. Pretty disappointing for a 4/5 star hotel. Hotel is located near airport hence away from downtown. I travelled alone hence transport became an issue as the bus provided by hotel requires min 2 passengers (payable by guest). If you are travelling alone in off season. might be a bumper unless you plan to stay in resort during your stay. There nothing much surrounding the hotel except Mai Khong beach which is quiet (nice) though not swimmable. The waves were too strong for me. Still i like it is quiet and secluded. The far away location also means any pick up by travel agency requites additional cost. So do take note of that. Hotel is great for a quiet stay, and breakfast was fantastic. highly recommended. Pool is pretty small, but i went during off season so not much of a problem. Also tried the SPA and massage. Expensive but well worth the price. Recommended. Overall i would given a 5 if not for the little gap here and there. Stay here if you want a quiet getaway, dont mind paying for getting into town and will stay in the resort most of the time. "Great service & hospitality"
It was a lovely resort for our family of 2 young kids. The staff were very attentive to our needs especially since our 4 year old became sick halfway through our stay. They packed our breakfast for us and sent some cake and note after learning about our sick child. And also packed breakfast for us when we checked out as it was an early check-out and […] we did not have time for breakfast. The resort also had a kids' playroom. And my kids enjoyed playing there. It had free activities for the kids and a great variety of toys to occupy them. We were very pleased with our stay there and would definitely recommend it to all our friends. i have never written a review before, however i think this is worth writing. Tony at the front desk was so helpful during our stay. Breakfast, definitely one fo the best in town. Overall the hotel has excellent staff and is very clean and comfortable. My daughter and I went to Quan spa and we were disappointed with the level of service. We paid a significant […] amount for a facial, massage and body wrap. don't spend your money at quan spa, it is supposed to be a 90 mins service and we were done by about 70 mins including taking a shower. we were suppose to get a 30 mins massage, we might have gotten 10 at most 15 mins. save your money and go to the beach side massage for a fraction of the price with experienced therapists. "A true 5 star experience"
We arrived on a late flight into Phuket and took a taxi to the hotel. The greeting at the hotel couldn't be better, our bags were instantly taken, we were sat down, handed a lovely drink and cold jasmine towels to freshen up. The hotel it self is stunning, the grounds, the rooms, even the bathroom is a wow. Service is amazing, the room was cleaned to […] the highest standard and the staff are a delight. Everything you can imagine is taken care of, they provide beach towels, flip flops, bags, water.....even a torch! Stayed 3 nights and had a great time. The hotel is very modern and clean, close to the airport and right on the beach. But what stands out from many other hotels is the staff and the food. The staff is very attentive and professional and they really go that extra mile, at least from my experience. I would go as far to say they are as good or even better […] than 1000 dollar/night hotels we've stayed in. Then the food. The breakfast has all you could want but first of all everything is tasty, fresh and of very good quality. We had a BBQ buffet near the beach, and although not cheap, it was in the end good value if I compare to the prices I would have payed for the same amount in some of the local restaurants in the nearby village , plus you got thai music and dance. Everything was very tasty and of good quality. The Sandbox on the beach was also nice with wood fired oven. Highly recommended and we will come back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely resort away from the hustle and bustle"
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 7 nights and were very pleased with our selection. The hotel staff were all very polite, pleasant and helpful and spoke English well. On arrival to the hotel, we were provided with two refreshing ice tea drinks and given an introduction to the hotel and its facilities before getting a lift to our room on the hotel buggy. […] Our room was a standard room on the ground floor which was well presented, clean with a nice design. The bathroom was also clean, well designed and very spacious with a marble basin and walls. Room service was pleasant and generally quite efficient with items arriving shortly after being requested. Our safe deposit didn't work on the first night which was quickly fixed up by the hotel staff. This resort is nice and peaceful and right next to Mai Khao beach which we loved. The trade off for this serenity was that it was quite far from Patong (around 1 hour drive) and the hotel shuttles had limited times. We went to Patong for 3 days out of our 7 days here. However, if we had to choose again, we would still choose the Renaissance. We visited the neighbouring sister resort JW Marriott via the complimentary shuttle but preferred the calm and personal service provided by our hotel as the JW Marriott is a much larger hotel therefore with a lot more people roaming about. JW Marriott however does have better transport options with complimentary shuttles to Turtle Village. We definitely recommend this hotel!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Everything went right!"
We had a long weekend to get away from it all. It was the best in years for me. We were made to feel special, the rooms were large and spacious, the Thai restaurant served some fantastic food, and the massage was numero uno. Minor quibbles: not-so-great coffee and tea in the room; reading lamps not well designed for lying down with a book (you need […] to sit up or the light shines in your eyes). "GREAT LOCATION, GOOD SERVICE"
This is the most pleasant stay and accomodation that my husband and i had of the 3 trips (4 hotels and location) in phuket.. We love the tranquility of the beach and how the hotel stretches to the beach without having to cross any roads. Rooms are value for money and breakfast is delicious. This is the only hotel so far that we had stayed in which offers […] honeycomb during breakfast. Thought the spa price was a bit pricey as compared to some other hotels and hence we have given it a miss this trip. "Great resort, highly recommended."
Stayed for 10 nights in June, during the monsoon. Hotel is incredible, nothing is too much trouble for the terrific staff and the room and facilities are top notch. We had a top floor (4th) Deluxe Room, overlooking the grounds. Couldn't see the sea or the waterfall, but that didn't matter, it was superb. Weather was very wet for 6 days, then dried up […] a bit, it's quite unpredictable and forecasts are hopeless, so just go with it and be prepared to get a little soaking now and again, it's warm all the time so not too uncomfortable and you dry off quickly. As mentioned by others, get the buffet breakfast included rate, you will not regret it! Lunch, dinner and drinks are expensive though, but there are two hut restaurants a few minutes walk from the resort (shortcut through the grounds of neighbouring Sala resort), both have identical menus and are extremely good, a third of the price of the hotel restaurant. Note that if you plan on stocking up with snacks and supplies in your room, the only place nearby is the Turtle Village mini-mart (20 min walk each way), it too is expensive so you'd be best off arriving at the hotel with a bag of goodies to keep you going. Highly recommended. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
