It's been many years since we've stayed in Europe. We are so spoiled by USA hotel/motel rooms for comfort and size. For the money it's a great value. Try to get a 'back' room since the street noise can get intense. The location is superb for access to all the sightseeing venues. Great location right off the Rumbla however down the street was a bar and when patrons leave, are very noisy and rude. In addition they advertise Wi-Fi but in our room (5th floor) had to open and stand in the front door to obtain access, my only true complaint. Convenient location at the end of Las Ramblas. Extremely noisy due to club in the same alley. Still partying at 4:30am when I left for the airport. Very helpful front desk staff, clean room and free wireless. Just wouldn't be able to return since I'd value sleep over convenience.

Take ear plugs if you can't sleep through noise - our first floor room had a lot of street noise from surrounding bars and restaurants. In saying that, it's in a good location close to lots of great places and right by La Rambla. The room had some funky dark and blue lighting, but it was quite modern and comfortable. We stayed only for 2nighst and we love the location of this property. Downstairs are handful of restaurants, bars, shops, grocery stores, currency exchange, and most of all tour buses picks up on La Rambla Street which is only 2minutes of a walk from this property. How in the world they got those lighting ideas, they use those lightings at the bars and night clubs in the united states so it even if you turn on all the lights your room is still very dark. You could open your drapes but if you did your neighbor across is looking at you. Be careful when dealing with the front desk staff, Kareem offered to book me a taxi ride to the airport. I kept telling him that I would call him for the time since we just checked in but he must have called me 2x to book my ride to the airport. Our taxi he booked showed up and he charged us 45 euro and we paid only 25 euro when we arrived. We asked the driver and he said 45euro. The staff are not doing you a favor which I thought he was kind enough to reserve our ride back to the airport but they work on kick backs. Read more

This hotel is very nice, but unless you want to stay awake until 2am, pick a hotel in a different neighborhood. At least during June/July, this area is hopping until that hour or later, every night. Our stay at the Barcelona House was comfortable, but it was very noisy all night long as our room looked over an alleyway close to the Ramblas. We chose it for the location so should have expected it. The room was nice enough, but the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. The young man who was at the desk when we checked in was extremely friendly […] and helpful and gave us good pointers. We were very impressed with him. The location was perfect, as there were stores for wine and food close by, as well as a stop for the tour bus. Also, it was right off the Ramblas, which is a must see for tourists. We ate dinner at a wonderful Italian restaurant recommended by the staff just around the corner from the hotel on a lovely square. Room was very clean and modern. Walls are really thin, bed was a bit shaky, room size was pretty small, but stay-able for a close couple. Nice flat screen tv. The front desk was very kind and hospitable. Very close to La Rambla (1 min) and Placa Reial (1 min), Bocqueria (5 min), and Barri Gothic (5-10 min) which means many people walk by all the time. […] It can be noisy and crowded outside, but from the room, I did not hear the streets at all. Just the people next door. The street could get seedy at night. Don't venture too much to the left of the hotel. Complaints: I didn't get the wake up call I had requested. (not a good sign, especially if you had to make it to the airport the next morning). Also, the air conditioning did not work properly. I asked the front desk twice about it, in which they responded “we checked downstairs and it seems to work,” which didn’t. Overall, I would stay here again because of the location and cleanliness, but it wouldn’t hurt looking for something elsewhere. There’s so much in Barcelona to see that I don’t think I necessary need to just stay in the La Rambla area. Read more

The maids cleaned our room every day and kepy it immaculate also the staff at the front desk were all lovely we went down one morning and asked how we could purchase tickets to camp nou and the man at the desk actually gave us 2 of his own tickets. 2nd stay this year. Clean and stylish city centre hotel that ticks all the boxes. Rooms at front excellent for watching this vibrant city way into the small hours. Rooms at the back much quieter, and some with balcony, ideal for catching a ray or two. All in all, a good find for a reasonable price, clean and modern, in the very best of locations.

Hotel okay but neighbourhood a little scuzzy. Very close to la Rambla and metro station. Our room was by the lift and we could hear everybody in our hallway. Cost is reasonable and room is clean. Newly refurbished hotel with good quality fit out but the room we got was small and stuffy because our window opened just 10cm out towards a small internal lightwell. Location was central in the middle of the gothic district (watch out for pick pockets) with many good clubs in the area! Price OK but next time i will try somewhere else.

The refurbishment is almost done in this hotel - you still hear and see a tiny bit of it going on during the day, but the floors that are ready are wonderful, as is the entrance and 'lobby'. Godt hotel, med fin beliggenhed. Vi fik først et meget tillukket værelse uden dagslys, men vi fik det uden nævneværdige problemer byttet til et dejligt stort værelse ud mod gaden. Der kunne have forekommet meget larm fra gaden, men det oplevede vi ikke.

The room has a small window towards an inner section of the building with no fresh air coming in which makes the room very warm. AC this time of year only gives you warm air. There is no ethernet connection but free WiFi in the lobby and room. Very noisy, you can easily hear people outside but also sound coming from room beneath and the inner section of the building. Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans cet hotel, dans une chambre donnant sur cour. 2 nuits dans le calme et la troisième avec une musique de boite de nuit très gênante et qui a duré jusque tard dans la nuit. C'est vraiment dommage car à part ça cet hotel n'a que des qualités.

Helt greie rom i et hotell som virker ganske nytt eller nyoppusset. Hyggelig betjening. Hotellet ligger i en veldig smal sidegate til Ramblas og det gjør at hele hotellet får en litt "trang" og mørk atmosfære. Lite lys som slipper inn og mange av rommene har heller ikke vindu annet enn inn mot et atrie. Det var også veldig lytt der.
