Having stayed at the Landis Hotel in Taipei, I expected Icon to offer the same service quality or better. After checking in, no one bothered to show us to our room and introduce us to the facilites available. I booked a harbor view room for an increased price. Sure there was a view of the harbor, if you looked to the left side. Directly outside my window was the rooftop of the mall. The concierge was helpful. I had one meal at the lobby cafe. My mom ordered a chowder in bread bowl. The bread came out toasted with green mold!! How did they miss that?! Killed our appetites immediately! I've read comments comparing Icon to the Four Seasons. One of our travel companions stayed there and I had an opportunity to rest in her room during our long afternoons in Hong Kong island. The hotel is impeccable and there was definitely no mold in our food.

Decent size room for Hong Kong. Definitely not huge but plenty big enough. Nice bathroom. Perfect Kowloon location. Clean and nice

"Acceptable but will not stay again"
If you are looking for something cheap and just to sleep, then yes go ahead and book this hotel. I asked for a non-smoking room, but smokers from other levels still smoke, you can smell it through the vents. The towels all had stains which I did not even use, I went to walmart to buy a new one. The breakfast wasn't bad, but more for Chinese guests. […] Service wasn't the best. The girls at the reception do not have a good attitude, they dont greet you or make you feel welcome. I guess its just how people are in Shenzhen. You have to give a 500RMB deposit when you check-in. Would have been nice if I was told before hand, luckily I already had some RMB in hand. But they do give it back to you when you check-out. The hotel location is pretty easy accessable to the subway which is a block away. Right across the hotel is KingGlory Plaza a big shopping mall. Not too far from Walmart and cafes. Like I said, if you want to find a place just to sleep, then go ahead and book it, but bring your own towels. Read more
"Great Value"
I have stayed maybe 50 hotel nights in Shenzhen during the last 20 years and this is one of better value for money hotels. Great location within 2 minute off the subway exit at GuoMao, and it is on smaller street so not noisy like the rest of the city. If the management is reading: 1. enforce non-smoking rules more strictly; 2. Shampoo your carpets. […] 3. Ask the caterer of breakfast to provide free coffee as there are foreigners like me who wants a cup in the morning. Otherwise staff is friendly, when things break down (like the door lock) at 11 pm, there was a repairman right away. I will stay there again next time, no reason to switch around. Read more

国貿駅にも近く、近辺に日本料理も多いので、取引先との待ち合わせや会食に便利です。 近くのGDホテルと比較すると部屋の清掃が雑な時がある（今回はベッドの下にゴミや使ったスリッパが残っていた）事や状備品の品数で見劣りする（寝間着・髭剃り・ボディローション・傘などGDホテルは用意されている）などの差があるが、価格を考えれば、許容範囲かもしれない。

良く宿泊するGDホテルとの比較ですが・・・ 日本語対応：GDホテルOK、羅湖ホテルNG ホテル及び部屋の状況：両方OK 利便性：両方ともOK 宿泊費：両方ともリーズナブルでOK 朝食：GDホテル有料、羅湖ホテル無料サービス ・・・って事で、日本語サービス不要であれば羅湖ホテルも良いホテルです。
