Akihabara Washington Hotel - Tokyo

My husband and I stayed here for two nights before traveling to our final destination within Japan. We choose this hotel for the price and location. It is located literally across the street from Akihabara JR station and if you are interested in Japan's electronics, manga, and anime this is the neighborhood for you. If you want to be in the middle of […] more traditional or everyday-living, then choose a different neighborhood to stay in. There are some familiar American restaurants in the surrounding area if you're looking for that (Denny's and McDonalds), as well as local chains, convenience stores, and a couple one-off local restaurants. The hotel was clean and everything seemed new or recently updated. The room itself was small for American standards, but was a good size for Tokyo. If you have more than two suitcases it will be tight though. The bathroom was great—pretty large, clean, quick hot water, wash-let/auto toilet, etc. I didn't see any English channels on the TV, so if you're looking for international news, it would be best to use the free WiFi and bring your own computer/tablet. location: excellent. close to everything you would want in akihabara condition of room: small but comfortable, nice and clean. excellent view from our room in the front of the hotel of all the hubbub in the area. staff: most had a very hard time with english which was tough since we didn't know any japanese. but we muddled through and got checked […] in. also, helped us get info about a shuttle to the airport and a cab since we were too late for the shuttles. good about holding our luggage when we checked out until we needed the cab to to the airport. shuttles: do not leave from this hotel. we would have had call to reserve and then shlep to a neighboring hotel. downside: there are smoking rooms in this hotel and we smelled smoke in the elevators. A hotel with excellent service! The front desk on the third floor is staffed with very attentive personnel and the rooms are very clean. The hotel laundry service is same-day service. It is also very quiet, considering the proximity to the trains. The Washington is also convenient. The hotel is across the street from the JR Akihabara station and the […] Hibiya metro subway line is only one block away. The Ginza metro subway line is only three blocks away. It was very easy to get around Tokyo by train from here. If you are looking for anything electrical in nature, there are plenty of little stalls selling switches, fixtures, cables, LEDs, and other electrical hardware just to the west of the JR train station. The overall standard of the hotel was very pleasing. Our room was always cleaned to a high standard. The staff were very friendly, although there were some communication problems due to language differences. We were very happy with this hotel in Tokyo, which my husband and I stayed in for 3 nights during our holiday around Japan (we are in our mid twenties). It was really easy to find, even when jet lagged and tired after our flight, and very well located for getting around the city to see the major sites. The room was very clean, comfortable and modern, […] and although on the small side, it was much better than we had anticipated given all the reviews we'd read on Tokyo hotels! The staff were kind and had good English, and were able to help us book a day trip for the next day. The hotel itself is located just outside the south side of the Akihabara station, about 30 seconds walk from it. This station has both the JR yamanote line and local trains running through it, so is very convenient for getting to most places you'll want to see. Despite being so close to the station, the room was quiet (we were in a room facing the street) and we didnt hear much, although we were on the top floor I think. The Akihabara electric town area is very close also -the hotel has free maps in English of the area's highlights. Plenty of places to get food too within 5min walk. Our room was a semi-double I think, and was fine for the two of us (my husband is 6 feet tall and had no trouble with the bed length, but only just) All in all, a good hotel that we'd be happy to stay in again. 狭い。一般的なビジネスホテルの割りには値段が高い。場所柄そうなってしまうのか? 目の前のレム秋葉原と同じ値段というのはおかしいよね? ホテルの格も部屋のレベルも違う。つまり宿泊費と中身がアンマッチ。最近は中国人やら外国人客も多くうるさいし。次は使わないかな。

ビジネスで１泊したが、非常に利便が良かった。受付の対応も良く、部屋もきれいだった。しかし、立地条件がいいために、部屋の広さが狭く、冷蔵庫も最小限だった。ホテルを１歩外に出ると、秋葉原だけに人が多く、夜もざわざわしていたが、８階だったせいか、意外と静かだった。受付が３階だが、客室のカードがないと客室階に上がれず、セキュリティも良かった。

Ik heb 5 nachten in dit hotel verbleven en was erg te spreken over de ligging, efficientie en comfort. De kamer was erg klein maar dat is in deze prijsklasse in Tokyo gebruikelijk. Het bed was prima, de kamer was stil en de badkamer keurig. Het hotel was zo te zien recent opgeknapt en de kamer zat erg slim in elkaar - de ruimte werd optimaal benut. […] Nauwelijks kastruimte alleen. Het hotel heeft niet heel veel sfeer en is vooral geschikt voor zakelijke reizigers. De ligging direct naast het drukke Akihabara station betekent dat je snel de stad in kunt, via de Yamanote lijn, het dichtbij gelegen Tokyo station maar ook is er een directe trein naar Shinjuku. De wijk Akihabara zelf is het mekka voor electronica en manga liefhebbers, dus ook toeristen met die interesse hebben aan dit hotel een goede.
