DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. It is extremely far from the city center. If you take the metro to last stop, then take a bus, you still need to take a cab to reach the hotel. The hotel offers a shuttle service to take you to the metro, but it's always ful, or doesn't show up. Additionally, it doesn't run between 1245 and 6pm, so you pretty […] much have to stay in the city all day. If you want to head back to the hotel to rest or shower before dinner, it's going to cost you $20 or so for the cab. While the rooms themselves are nice, and the price is attractive, the location is SO inconvenient, that you end up having to spend money and time to take cabs, making it completely worthless. Nice and new hotel, good room/new appliance, nice assistance at front desk (missing adapter plugs for power/no currancy exchange). Our experience with this hotel was about 3. We had problems with the restaurant, they had a new system and they didn't know how to use, i spent more than 2 hours to get food. Internet is only available in the lobby and I […] had no addapter for my computer, after one hour I coulnd't use internet because they didn't have any spare adapter or computer for visitors. The hotel is not really far from Roma downtown, but the traffic is so bad that I wouldn't recommend to stay more than 2 kw far if you are in vacation, too much time in the taxi or bus to get to the city. This hotel was not only a forever distance from the main attractions but in a questionable neighborhood - what we Americans would call the hood or slums. However, it appeared that the majority of Rome looked exactly the same with the exception of the Vatican and Colosseum areas... so maybe a bye on that note. The front desk staff were not as friendly […] as one would expect from service personnel ... with the exception on one male that wore glasses and spoke fluent English ... sorry can not recall his name. He was the main positive at the property!! The hotel itself is quite modern -- actually it looked and felt brand new -- but a few items could use some attention. I read other reviews prior to selecting this property and the majority of the comments centered on the shower not being enclosed so water got all over the place... well I am happy to report that it has been corrected -- at least in select rooms. However, the water temp is still an issue as it was not hot enough and the pressure was inconsistent. This property is located directly across the street from one of Rome's major grocery stores which was a huge bonus because their restaurant menu left quite a bit to be desired. So in summary... nice looking hotel... a long way from the attractions and I would recommend looking in the Vatican area or around the Colosseum for other lodging options. Read more

Ok, this place isn't exactly in the centre of rome but I was aware of that when booking, so knew what to expect. What I had hoped for, but didn't expect was fabulous rooms, extremely polite, friendly and helpful staff and great food. I had read a few reviews that said how far out it is and how long it took to get to the attractions, but in reality […] it's not that bad. The hotels minibus has you at the the Rebibbia metro station in a matter of minutes and then it only takes about 15 minutes to get to Termini. The trains do get very packed but, as Rebibbia is the starting point for the line, we always got a seat. On the way back, it wasn't always the case but, there was normally seats by the time we reached Turbitina and it's not that long anyway. The hotels restaurant was staffed by great staff that served fantastic food. Apart from breakfast we only ate there once for an evening meal (only because we was out all day and ate wherever we was), but it was great. We took advantage of the set meal, which was 3 courses, bread, wine and water for only €19 each. The hotel was always spotelss throughout, all staff very welcoming and friendly. Our room was absolutely spotless and kept that way everyway by the very friendly housekeeping staff. Although there is nothing much in the immediate area it didn't affect us at all, and to be honest a lot of the rest of Rome is a bit dingy looking - apart from the sights of course. Read more

The Idea Hotel is a wonderful place; decor is modern, clean and spacious and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only problem was the location, and even though the hotel offered a shuttle bus to the nearest tube station, it was still too far away from anything, although there was a supermarket over the road. Apart from this and a petrol station […] there was very little in the locale; nothing to do in the evening, no short walks, no local restaurants, making the hotel the main attraction. LIkewise, the shuttle bus didn't run between midday and 6pm, which meant that if returning during this time one had to get a taxi @ 30 Euros. Nonetheless, the breakfast was great (the coffee was sublime) and the staff were brilliant (we loved the mini-bus driver, the barman and the reception staff) and the hotel was clean and rooms constantly cleaned. I would whleheartedly recommend the hotel on price, style, quality, but suggest that one considers the location. General level of service was very good. Shuttle bus to the metro was somewhat erratic with it's timetable and the drivers were very surly. We arrived late at the hotel on our first night and even though the kitchen was closed they provided us with a very good cold platter. Very friendly and pleasant people.

Das Hotel und das Zimmer waren sehr sauber und haben ein tolles, modernes Ambiente (meine kleine Tochter war sehr begeistert und besonders toll fand sie das kuschlige Bett). Das TV Erlebnis beschränkt sich leider unter hunderten von Sendern auf ein deutsches -das ZDF. Für das Frühstück sollte man viel Ruhe und Zeit einplanen, der Nachschub einiger Sachen […] brauchte ein paar Minuten - es gibt aber wirklich von allen sehr reichlich. Die Umgebung ist zwar bautechnisch noch nicht ganz abgeschlossen, Nachts aber sehr ruhig und genau vor der Tür befindet sich ein ein toller Supermarkt. Die Stadt ist eher was für Archäologen Freaks und der Verkehr ein absolut außerirdisches Erlebnis - die Regel ist keine Regel. Da das Hotel am Rande der Stadt liegt hatte der Mietwagen doch schon seine Berechtigung zudem auch noch die Metro bestreikt wurde. Read more

hotel zelf was super de ligging niet zo mooie. de regel dat er een shuttel bus van het hotel je gratis weg dracht naar de dicht bij zijn de metro was top. was wel op bepaalden tijden maar wel erg fijn. omdat het hotel iets buiten het centrum van rome lig dus niet aan telopen. maar dit was goed tedoen. en als je niet daar me kon kon je met de bus niet […] zo ver van het hotel naar de metro worden gebracht. was wel erg jammer dat ze niet zo goed engels spraken in het hotel. maar ze deden wel hun best. en week week kaart kopen voor de vervoer in rome is ook super je kan dan met de metro de bus de tram wij waren er 6 dagen .dus top. er was ook een servie van het hotel als je dat op tijd resverden dat je terug naar de vliegtuig gebracht kon worden wat wel geld korts. wat wel erg jammer is om naar het hotel tekomen als je net aan ben gekomen je kan dan met de trein de metro maar dat is wel een erge puzzel. en dan s avond aan komen niet erg fijn . het laaste stuk hebben we maar de taxi genomen. maar je moet wel goed vragen wat het korts dan.. maar al met al de moet waard geweest om hier na toe tegaan. ontbijt in het hotel was erg goed en om er s avond te eten ook erg goed. aan de over kant van het hotel is een heel grote super markt ook erg makelijk , en om in de buurt wat te eten ook leuk restaurants .
