"Adequate - nothing more, nothing less"

There are some highlights of this hotel... the view from the roof (and from the upper rooms) are pretty nice. You can see the river! The rooms are nice and clean, and there is free wifi. The location proves to be a little better than you would think... we actually walked down to the main tourist area; it's a long walk, but interesting. You can actually get a lot of cheap things close to the hotel since it's not so touristy. Other than that, it's a standard hotel. Nothing really to talk about w/ the room. The food is second rate at best. I guess it's a good value option overall.
"Not as bad as the reviews!!"
I stayed at green anka for 2nights at the beginning of my tour, so i didnt pay for the room but i dont believe its as bad as all the reviews. The tv didnt work in our room but they fixed it no problems, and there was only 1 towel, we asked for a 2nd 1 and they brought it up straight away. So all in all its not so bad, great location!!
"Recommandable if combined with flight (Otherwise expensive)"

Short summary: We booked the hotel in combination with a cheap flight and thus got a room for 4 persons for about 85 euro per night instead of 200. We stayed 9 daysThe hotel is very close to the train station. That makes you very flexible. You can always go down to the dinig room for free water and the breakfast is just wow. Very tasty with wide selection of meals. If asked the service helped us as well. On the other side of the coin only 1 of three lamps worked at the room, only one of the energy supply boxes ( im not finding the right word just now) worked. Additionally the shower had a hole and was infested by kalk (german word). Concludingly I'd say I didn't have much problems here but the original price is very high. Id give it 3.5 stars if possible. You shouldn't expect too much, i guess hotels in turkey are just not the same as german ones, so if you get it for a cheaper price it is definately recommendable for everyone who doesn't expect a pool, spa and luxury :)
"If you have another choice please dont choose here"

I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour. This hotel isn't fancy but isn't as bad as many of the reviews say. The beds are hard - however all beds in Turkey (and Greece) were very hard. The rooms are very basic but ours (and the others in our group) were clean. Breakfast in the morning was quite good with lots of selection. It's also a decent location with a 3 minute walk to the train that will take you anywhere in town.

This is only the Reader Digest Version: Green Anka Hotel does not other 24-hour room service or laundry facilities as advertised. Air conditioning does not work and the minibars is actually a college frig. with 4 sodas, 2 waters and 4 candy bars ??? Additionally, the rooms are very Nasty, the beds are very small and HARD with motel bedding sheets. The closet is a matchbox with different colored plastic hangers bought from a second hand store. No iron or ironing board. The flooring of the hotel room is cheap vinyl particle board that is coming apart. The ventilation vents are discolored. The bathroom flooring drain catch is missing with mold located within the shower. Mold and black stuff was located around the window seal, around the 1 matchbox closet space and bathroom door area. The room door is totally unsealed so smoke flow into your room daily all day. (SMOKING IS PERMITTED EVERWHERE WITHIN THE HOTEL AND THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO STAY THERE SMOKE DAILY, ALL DAY!!!) The amenities are out dated with the exception of the small TV... (e.g. 1 Phone, 1 Hair Dryer, 1 SMALL flat screen TV, 1 Motel Soap, 2 USED Rolls of toilet paper with no holder, 2 overly worn face towels with ripped edges and 2 overly worn “HARDEN” body towels with ripped edges and stains) There is no WIFI except in the lobby of the so called hotel. They only have 1 hotel computer for guest. Hotel restaurant: DON’T even think about eating at this place !!! I double dog DARE you !!! The entire room as well as the décor looks like it was used for a 1970’s porn video. This was the worst place ever to stay. Motel 6 would be a step up from this place !

It is too dirty and you find any animals there like ants and so on. It is absolutely not a 4 star hotel. Breakfast is turrible and never was fresh? They do not clean rooms. Aircoditioner did not work.

Stay away from this hotel if you care about air conditioning and quiet. I was concerned when I read some earlier reviews of the Green Anka that mentioned problems with the air conditioning. When my travel agent checked on the matter we were assured that the hotel had been renovated and the air conditioning was working. Based on my experience, the air conditioning is capable of working, but it often does not. The fan and the air cooler seem to be separate functions that are both controlled from the desk.. The fan seems to work all of the time. The cooler only seems tp be turned on for a few hours a day. We complained and our agent complained daily. We were given repeated assurances that the matter would be taken care of. It wasn't. Despite our requests the air cooler was never turned on for several rooms in our group. Every night about two in the morning the cooler was shut off despite nightly assurances from the person on the desk that this would not happen. Every afternoon when we returned we would ask for the cooler to be turned on. The day we arrived we were greeted with a pleasant snack, but the cooler was never turned on, despite assurances that it had been. The next two days we would be told that the manager or the tachnician had to be called and the matter would be taken care of in five minutes. An hour later, I would leave a room where the fan was still blowing hot air around and repeat the request. On our last day, I refused to leave the front desk until any necessary calls had been placed and the cooler was on. Our last day in the hotel was a disaster. We learned the perils of showing up for breakfast when it opened--the available bread was so stale it felt like sandpaper and the egg and cooked vegetable dishes that should have been hot were all cold. Our rooms were not cleaned, even though we were gone from 8:30 until 2:30. Worst of all, a construction crew came in about 6 p.m. And began hammering and using power tools on the third and fifth floors. This noise continued until after 11p.m. in spite of repeated appeals for quiet. The hotel may be close to the tram line and to several restaurants, but these possible advantages are more than offset by the heat, the noise, and the tendency of the staff to put off really doing anything about the problems. Stay somewhere else.

Dear friends, STAY AWAY from this hotel !!! I think its still alive only because turkish airlines which placing there their clients for a transit waiting time. Well, that was terrible. me and my girlfriend was staying there 1 night because we have a big waiting time between transit. Turkish airlines send us to this hotel. Lets start from the beginning. CHEAP decoration of the hall which you can buy at the market. Advertising of something with blinking led lights and dirty furniture. I was continuously repeating all the time "its only for 1 night"...... Do you know those door locks, which looks like it cost 10 dollars but in real they cost 6 ? Well, this is locks which was in the room. I have better locks in my bathroom at home. Door to the room was VERY cheap and VERY thin. You can be sure that you will hear everything whats going on in the hall. But don't worry, walls are the same quality as the doors. I heard WORDS of the song which was playing on a tv in the next room. Also i got a feeling that door already was few times force opened because security lock was few times re-screwed to the same holes. And actually door wasn't closing as tight as it should. Room is SUPER small. When i stayed in the Amsterdam, i was thinking that rooms could not be any smaller. I was mistaken. Also there was a small, old, dirty and smelly fridge in the room. Windows...... They was made from aluminum.... BUT... i think they forgot to adjust them. The result - when window is closed - you hear the same noise level like when the windows is open. I could not use my laptop there because i was simply afraid to plug in 3000 usd laptop to that electricity socket. The same reason i could not charge my iPad and iPhone. Bed.... I will remember you till the rest of my life. mattress was old, and absolutely not comfortable. When i was going outside to buy some drinking water, my girlfriend staid at the room because we both was afraid to leave our luggage there. When i was returning, i took elevator to the 3rd floor, bet i guess it was also calling by maidens to the laundry, because when it arrived to -2 floor they was very surprised to see me, and i was very surprised to see their laundry. After than i decided to sleep in the clothes. Do i need to say that bathroom was "a bit" dirty ? I was sleeping in the closes with hood on my head.... But the best part was to see their prices for the rooms at the reception desk when we was waiting for a airport shuttle..... Our "room" cost around 150-170 euro (i forgot the exact prices but it was not lower than 150 euro for sure) 150 euro for THAT ? OMG... I can stay in real 4 star hotel in europe for that money. This hotel should be closed for good....
