Two days - Aug/Sep 2012. Pleasant marina waterfront hotel if you can find it. Google Maps plots it at the Sheraton site in the midst of the airport, but you need to turn northwest by the Sheraton and then follow Via Pionieri... around to the west, along the waterfront, almost to the end of road, near the runway. The area feels commercial until you get […] to the hotel. Any airport traffic was not noticeable. Comfortable bed and linens. Roomy modern bath with dressing room. Good buffet breakfast. A few nearby bar/restaurants. Free parking, but don't expect to walk or use public transit to go anywhere. Our pleasant private balcony overlooking the boats was quite close to the boats and not so private when boat-owners were there, but with sweeping views across the marina and city-scape toward the hills. One maintenance issue -- the sliding doors to the balcony lacked an insulating strip where they come together. Our north-facing room was quite breezy in a rain storm with the doors closed. But any negatives are minor. We would highly recommend this hotel if being in town is not a priority. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Super room with fabulous view"
We stayed for 3 nights after having booked for 1 because we enjoyed the room so much. The downsides were that the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday but then it was November. Also a long walk from public transport. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The bed was very Comfortable and breakfast plentiful. Dinner on the Saturday […] night was excellent value and very well done. Very peaceful at night but that may be different in July and August. We would definitely return to this hotel. Great location on the Marina once you find it. Room is fabulous. Breakfast is just OK.run on the Marina was wonderful!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We booked here on our bike trip around Europe the main attraction was the free parking for us, as hotels in genoa itself had little parking, it's by the marina and airport so a little way out of genoa, not a problem if you have your own transport, we spent the afternoon in genoa then came back to the marina for the evening , some great places to eat […] here and a nice relaxed buzz about the place , hotel clean and modern and staff helpful , would stay again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Away from must-see sights, close to Airport."
The hotel was fine, the problem was when it came time to settle the bill, we were charged in Euro's when it should have been Canadian Dollars as per our contract from Hotels.com. At 5:30 in the morning checkout and the flight leaving early we just paid and left.

"A Believe-it-or not Resort near an Airport"

It is rare to find a resort near a hotel, but the MarinaPlace Resort in Genoa is just that. Close to both the harbor and the airport the resort is a gem of a place with resort facilities. Ensure you get a room with the view of the harbor as you can watch the boats in all their glory. It is something akin to watching cars go by and you try to recognize the make of the car. Similarly, you can try and identify all the exotic boats/yachts. I am also a freak as far as watching airplanes and I feasted my eyes on the planes and tried to identify them as well. The other defining feature of the hotel is the view of the mountains. The free Wi-Fi and free parking are very useful. I did not eat much at the hotel but combined my visit to the town and satisfying my curiosity in the eateries there.
"Book a marina view."

Having flown in to Genoa airport we thought this place would be easy to find, being only 2 miles away. In the dark it took us an hour to find it (we had to stop and ask at the Hilton!), but it was well worth it when we did get there. Fabulous, huge rooms, and out standing bathrooms. The bath in my room was big enough for 10, and my colleague had a sauna big enough for a family. The Marina view was lovely, and the staff very relaxed and friendly. So be warned, if you think you are about to go in to the back of the airport, you are not, you are in the right place. The only slight disappointment is the usual (for Italy) uninspired breakfast (the view is nice though). I was just sorry I was away on business and really didn't have the time to make use of the lovely facilities. Be sure to ask for a room with a spa facility.
"one side jet and other side yachts"

What a fantastic veiw, One side the view is Genoa Air port so you can watch the aircrafts and the other side is full of yachts. The hotel is an ideal place for Yacht lovers. It is away from the city, you can enjoy beautful morning and evening. Wi Fi connectivity was excellent, till last you leave hotel you can use your gadgets.
"Most amazing airport hotel"

What a surprise, you pass the terminal and you go straight to the yacht club. Right behind the airport tower is a big parking lot and a number of marina buildings which overlook parts of the big Genova harbor but especially the yacht harbor. It has this St. Tropez feeling although everything is new. You need to have a sea view room to have a terrace to overlook the boats and the mountains, it is very pretty. The hotel is boutique - Italian style - the staff is very helpful and friendly, the decor is modern, designer style, very tasteful, pretty bathrooms. It is not luxurious, it is a pleasant small 4 star hotel where one could even go for a week-end because in no way does it feel like a airport hotel - only if you go out front - I didn´t hear any planes but then Genova is not a very busy airport also. One of the reasons why I rate it that high is because I was so absolutely astonished to find this quality hotel at an Italian airport (which are known to be all horrible) . Unfortunately I didn´t try the restaurant because I had booked a massage with a good therapist and wanted to have a relaxed eveing before my flight.

We booked it off the internet 2 days before to break our journey and we were plesantly surprised to find it right behind Chris Colombus airport as part of a newish marina development. Only heard 2 planes though. We had huge room, incredible shower, private balcony with comfy furniture overlooking the marina (which I was surprised to see described as tacky by another reviewer as this was not our impression) and plenty of restaurants to choose from within 5 minutes walk. Other half, who can be fussy, wants to come back - there is no stronger recommendation!
The hotel is very average. Too noise during the night due to bars!! Annoying to sleep :-( All the area is far from nice & elegant. It is a cheap port (regarding bar&restaurants and people around). Not recommended at all! Overpriced for what you get
"Nice room but..."

I chose this place because I didn't want to bother with finding a parking in Genoa and Marina is the only place that looks nice and provides free parking. The room is clean, beautifully decorated and well equiped. We got the room on the runway side but the airplane noise didn't bother us at all. What bothered us most is the party with loud music on Saturday night that wouldn't stop until 2.30 in the morning. It was too loud and earplugs couldn't help. When we arrived, the room was "ready" without a duvet cover!? Not a big deal though, the cleaning lady provided us one quickly. The staff can speak English but not at all attentive. They didn't tell us about breakfast time. When I asked how to go to the city centre by public transportation, she only said "Taxi". We insisted to travel by bus or train and the girl just gave us bus time table (showing only departure times from the stop near the hotel) and wrote down the station we have to get out. She didn't even mention that the bus runs until 20.00 only. The bad thing about Genoa is, most restaurants open at 19.30 and the bus stops operation at 20.00. That means you will have to take taxi or walk back to the hotel. Local trains also run until 22.00. So please take this into account if you want to visit this city. Breakfast at Marina Place is considered poor. Not much to choose from and the taste was dull. On top of it, the service is extremely poor. There was only 1 unattentive staff, who didn't care at all about the guests. Most items ran out and no one cared to refill. I had to wait almost 20 minutes just to drink water. I would say the place itself is nice. Location is very bad if you want to use public transportation. Staff and service, according to my personal standard, are very awful.
"Not as Expected"

Walked from the Airport to MarinaPlace, nice 20 min walk, reception staff very polite and helpful. Room was not as clean as hoped having read all the reviews. Didnt feel very clean after getting OUT of the bath!! Also wooden floor needed a good clean.Although right next to Airport you couldn't hear the Planes.
"Cosy and Amazing"
02/25/13 Flyaway1963 Bordeaux, France
Close to the airport (no sound disturbance at all) in a reburbished area and close to the Marina, this hotel is a pleasure at an amazing price (107 € breakfast included !!) for the quality. Free parking, surface of the room closer than an appartment to an hotel room, large batheroom including turkish bath, Italian shwower/Hammam. Mini bar, tea pot, TV like an home cinema, twoo sofa, and a large and confortable bed + direct view to the marina. What else ? ;) People helpfull and good and discreet service. Only thing, you need a car to reach Genoa center, but it's easy and take 10 minutes to reach Porto Antico. In few words, and having tried several hotels in Genoa, this is the best one one and teh cheapest one for this quality. Also if you are addict to jog, this is the place to be. I did not tried the restaurant, but on the same walkaway, you a have a a very traditional trattoria, offering real Genovese dishes ans specialities for few euros and high quality. Now, and just to find something which could be better ;) Please, leave an user's manual to manage the light into the room and the bathroom. I almost spend 30 minutes to get the room black the first night ;)
"Great Location - Evolving facility"
12/31/12 RovingJohnUSA San Francisco, California
Frankly, we find Genoa a real challenge with a car, and really prefer to visit cities anyway, and stay in the more peaceful suburbs. We chose to try this hotel because of the location, and some good referrals. The location on the Marina is lovely, with views looking back at the city over the marina, large rooms (at least ours), and very good nearby restaurants and shops in the Marina complex. We enjoyed our stay, the room, and the breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and truly appreciated the free parking right outside. The staff was very agreeable and helpful in all regards. The only drawback was that the hotel was in the middle of a renovation, making navigation of the upstairs a bit of a challenge, but everybody was as helpful as possible about that. It did not affect our enjoyment. We would recommend this property for any on a driving holiday, as the city is very close by by car, and the rates here reasonable and a good value. You can expect decent facilities and willing service, but need a bit of tolerance as they do those things that will keep the star rating. Yes, we will stay here again.
