"good, afforable, small town stay"
We stayed in Hallettsville because we left Houston late in the evening and wanted to see the Shiner brewery in the morning on our way to Austin. The hotel was simple, clean, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was nicer than I expected with a very large flatscreen TV, micro, fridge, and a chaise lounge. The only negative was […] that there was a faint smell in the room upon first entering as if it was once smoked in. However, it was very clean and perfectly suitable for a pitstop on our way. All of the other tenants appeared to be male workers (worktrucks, truckdrivers) however they werent noisy. The breakfast was simple and good, comparable to a La Quinta with hot and cold options. "It was the only one with rooms close by our event."
I would not use this hotel if I had a choice. It was clean enough but the room did not lock properly. Neither chain on the front or door combining the other room worked. I was not sure most of the night if the door was locked. You could see light around the door frame. the personal seemed very friendly. "Chaparral in Halletsville, TX"
Motel was very noisy until about 11:00 pm and then got quiet. Noise resumed around 5:00 am as workers got up to go to work. And they had NO breakfast bar of any kind. Not even any coffee. And the coffeemaker in the room had no pot. So I thought the price was somewhat high all things considered. "Nice Place To Stay"
I booked 2 motel rooms at about 11:00pm Wednesday evening for a Friday night stay (2 days later) due to a family funeral. Booking the rooms online was very fast & easy. The rooms were more than adequate for our stay & quite spacious. They were very clean & the beds were comfortable. My husband & I stayed in a room featuring a king sized bed, a cloud-soft […] lounge chair, a work station desk (with free wi-fi), a dresser. 2 night stands, a mini-fridge, microwave, iron & ironing board, coffee maker, hair dryer and a flat screen color TV with remote control. My daughter and her family stayed in the second room, which featured 2 double sized beds with similar amenities. We utilized the mini-fridge with some drinks & snacks that we brought from home. We were pleasantly surprised to find that when using the sink to wash, the hot water became hot very quickly. In our experience, this is not very often the case. The TV had very good picture & sound quality. The bathroom & sink area were well stocked with towels, hand towels, washcloths, facial tissues & toilet tissue. All the staff that we came in contact with were both friendly & helpful. Although our reason for the stay was a somber one, we enjoyed our comfortable stay at The Chaparral & would recommend it to anyone staying in Hallettsville.
