I was a little nervous staying here with just myself and 3 kids but it was definitely family friendly. We were all swimming in the pool (which is huge) and a storm came in. The a/c in the room ran for almost 24 hours and never got the room cool, it was actually cooler in the hallway than in our room. The tv also stopped working. I called the front desk and the maintance person came to the room, he couldn't get the tv to come on, so he removed it and brought a different one to the room. He could not get the new one to work […] either, and determinded that the problem was because the bottom outlet stopped working, so he plugged it in the top outlet and it turned on. He then said the a/c compressor was kicking on and that the unit seemed to be working fine. I said the air coming from the hallway is cooler than what is coming from the a/c unit. He finally agreed that it was not operating properly and replaced it. I then noticed that the mini fridge was also not working, before calling the front desk, I flipped the light switch by the door and the fridge starting working and so did the bottom outlet that the tv had been plugged into. The hotel cleaning staff continually flipped the emergency switch to keep the only elevator on the floor that they were working on, when this was pointed out the front desk staff, they said that they did it all the time even though they've been told not to. The elevator inspection sheet that was posted in the elevator had an expiration date of 7/13/2012. My checkin date was 7/16/2012. Read more

The high rates are only high because they are right on the boardwalk. We had 2 queen beds. The room smelled pretty bad, musky and humid, the 1st day they cleaned everything nicely but the second day they didn't bother to vacuum or make beds (being at the beach there gets to be some sand on the floors and beds) they only put up clean towels. i had a wonderful time in Ocean City Md. The Harrison Hill Hotel is right on the beach and close to anything you want to do. The rooms are a bit small but who stays in the room except top sleep. It's a great place to stay. it is reasonably priced and the staff is very helpful.

Harrisson Hall was in a good location and had a nice pool which most other larger hotels did not have that size and private in back of hotel. Nice to hit the beach in day and layout by the pool afterwards to relax in lounge chairs. also a tiki bar to get a drink was nice. Great porch to have coffee in morning and watch all bikers go by and the ocean […] view was great. Ask for updated room, decor is nicer. Rooms are small due to age of hotel. Beds were comfortable, slept great. Hallways were narrow and dated, lobby a little dated but quaint. Coffee and tea in a.m. convenient. Bring your own mug to enjoy on porch. Don't go expecting a five star experience. Been to hotels by the ocean with that rating and this is not that by far. Just go with the idea its a casual type of stay and so is Ocean City. If you have a large family these rooms might be difficult with more than 3 people in a room. Overall we had a nice stay an enjoyed the experience. Read more

To be honest we were very disappointed with the hotel. Based on the price we paid per night and the web-site I was expecting better. The rooms were very small, the beds were not comfortable and the one and only elevator took forever.

Only negative thing I can say about my experience was the pool area. Beause the pool bar is open, they dont allow you to bring your own alcohol to the pool.. we brought cases of beer and the only place we were able to drink our own was in our stuffy rooms with no view. Got the cooler ready for nothing.

The shower was old and dirty. Hair from previous guests was on the shower walls. The carpet was damp. The room smelled. The tv didn't work and when they replaced it we only got 10 channels. WiFi? Negative. The ONLY thing we enjoyed was the porch and rocking chairs.

The Hotel was very nice. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The maid missed one day cleaning the room but it was OK. We had plenty of towels and everything we needed. I liked being right on the boardwalk and having the porch to sit on and watch the ocean. Very relaxing.

We were only staying one night and wanted a place on the boardwalk. It was fine for our needs. However, I would not want to stay there for an extended stay (i.e. a week). The room was very small, with only one chair so you had to sit on the bed. First day we were there my husband took a shower and the water would not turn off. We called front desk, 5-7 minutes later called again. At this point we were bailing water out of the tub with a garbage can so the whole place didn't get flooded. Finally about 15 minutes or so after our first call the maintenance man came and got it fixed. Our room was not cleaned, towels were removed and not replaced and that was the extent of it. We had to go to the front desk to get towels.The mattresses were very soft and had no support. Overall, it was a good stay, but I will say this: you're paying more for the location than the room itself.The elevator that we took to get to our room was rickety and slow. The room was very small. I immediately noticed a big crack at the bottom of the door frame. The bathroom was tiny and it took forever for the water to heat up, at least 5 minutes. […] When it was time to charge our phones, we realized there were NO available outlets; the ones that existed were all plugged up by the TV, air conditioner, lamp, and alarm clock. My girlfriend luckily fount one socket open in the bathroom, which was very inconvenient. The TV had a lot of cable channels available which was nice. What we really liked about our room though was the view. We had an oceanfront view at no extra charge, and we enjoyed waking up to beautiful sunlight and the sound of waves hitting the beach. Now, about the area: it was very beautiful. It wasn too close to where most of the action is on the boardwalk (up to 10th street), which was nice because it was very peaceful. There were a lot of good restaurants near us, but I definitely do NOT recommend DaVinci's By the Sea on the first floor of the hotel. They were incredibly rude to us and the food was very disappointing. We were not satisfied. This was our first time in Ocean City and we were only staying one night. We chose the hotel for location and price and we got what we paid for. The problem with the hotel is that it needs to be renovated and it looked like they are working on that. Our room, unfortunately, hadn't been renovated yet. The air conditioner didn't work and we had to sleep […] with the windows open. The shower knobs didn't work right and the water temperature kept fluctuating. There is zero counter space in the bathroom. (We had a basic room with two double beds). The elevator was very slow and the buttons had to be pushed multiple times to get them to work. On the plus side: The location of the hotel is great. It's right on the boardwalk and has good parking. The pool was closed due to the season but it looked nice and clean. The hotel has a very nice porch with rocking chairs perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee and a nice big lobby with a view of the beach. Read more
