For the money, this can't be beat. The hotel is very nice and comfortable. The owner is a native to Santorini and is extremely helpful and accommodating. We were only there for one night and without her advise and help, would not have enjoyed our stay as much as we did. Since we were there in the winter, not everything was available and much of the island goes into hibernation. But, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It is not a luxury hotel so don't expect room service and spa facilities. What you do get is a small, personal, comfortable accommodation from people who care about your stay and experience in Santorini.

First, the staff was amazing. He picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry port (although this is not a garaunteed service if the hotel is busy). He also arranged a rental car for us. The hotel itself is also lovely! Great views, nice pool, and amazing two story units with front and rear balconies (we were upgraded to 2-story units for free since the hotel was not busy). The location is near the center of the island on the west edge, perfect for viewing the sunset this time of year (Sept-Oct). Easy drives north to Oia and also south to Akrotiri and the beaches.

Description of Caldera Romantica - Santorini

Location.
Caldera Romantica is close to White Beach, Red Beach, and Nea Kameni Volcano. Also nearby are Akrotiri Archaeological Site and Palea Volcano.

Hotel Features.
Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas. The staff can provide concierge services, tour/ticket assistance, and wedding services. Additional amenities include an outdoor pool, a garden, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Onsite parking is complimentary.

Guestrooms.
The 22 air-conditioned guestrooms at Caldera Romantica include safes and makeup/shaving mirrors. Guests can use the in-room complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access. Bathrooms offer showers and hair dryers. Housekeeping is offered daily.

Cleanliness: spotless. Service: family-run, warm and helpful. Eager to help or organise stuff and they make good recommendations. Amenities: simple room... with balcony and ensuite wetroom, pool quite a nice place to wait, as is the breakfast area overlooking the caldera. Nothing like laundry available - nearest was in Fira (or maybe Perissa) and Kamari. Air con was thankfully included. We had view of caldera from balcony and could watch the sun go down, but view on other side of the hotel is quite nice too. Location: dead quiet and non-touristic. There is a restaurant pretty much next door which we really liked (recommend the octopus), there is one other building in view and that's it. Nearest beach is Kambia (2km on dirt track) which is tiny, quiet, pebbly with sunbeds (7 euros), good for swimmers and snorkellers and has a taverna. The town of Akrotiri is just over a mile away as is the bus stop. Both are uphill on the way back. Popular Red beach is 5 min drive. as is Ancient Akrotiri; Fira, 10; Oia, 20.
