The rooster needed to made into soup. Every hour starting at 0400. All else was delightful. Staff was excellent. Breakfast was wonderful.

Zunächst einmal braucht man Geduld. Erst nach einige Minuten tauchte dann doch noch eine Dame auf, die den Eincheck-Vorgang vollzog. Schon bevor wir überhaupt das gebuchte Familienzimmer gesehen haben, mussten wir zahlen. Das Zimmer war im ersten Stock über eine sehr steile und enge Treppe zu erreichen. Die Deckenhöhe in diesem Stockwerk betrug maximal 215 cm. Hinzu kam noch, dass das aus zwei Räumen bestehende Familienzimmer komplett in Rosa gehalten war. Im Bad hingegen war grün vorherrschend. Als Dusche musste man mit einer Plastikkabine vorlieb nehmen. Das Fenster lag direkt über einen geteertem Flachdach. Es war daher eher keine gute Idee es bei den vorherrschenden tropischen Temperaturen zu öffnen. Das Frühstück war äußerst übersichtlich. Dazu waren die Brötchen auch schon ein paar Tage älter. Ein Gast, der gegen 9.15 Uhr ein Frühstück einnehmen wollte, wurde abgewiesen, da die Frühstückszeit nur von 7.00 - 9.00 Uhr geht. Das Hotel ist seinen Preis nicht wert.

nous avons été très bien accueillis. la chambre était bien pour trois (il y avait une séparation entre le grand lit et le lit à coté. Nous avions un problème de brosses à dents oubliées et nous avons apprécié que la personne de la réception cherche dans ses affaires et nous propose des brosses à dents de voyage en dépannage pour quelques dizaines de centimes. Un petit plus dans le service que nous avons beaucoup apprécié.

Très propre, personnel très accueillants, chambre confortable, petit déjeuner copieux. Par contre, donne sur une route type voie rapide, très bruyante, beaucoup de circulation même la nuit. Impossible d'ouvrir les fenêtres à cause du bruit. Chambres mal insonnorisées, on entend les gens qui parlent dans les chambres à côté.

The hotel was nice and clean. The interior felt cosy and tastefully decorated. The rooms are fair in terms of value for money. Its i great location if you want to do a round trip in the vicinity of Gent, Brugge and Knokke. I have read some of the negative comments here. Even-though it is understandable that there is a point in some of the minor issues they mention, i think their reaction is somewhat over the top. I guess every experience is a personal thing.

We found this hotel on an accommodation website, and booked for 2 nights. Rather than looking like a hotel, it has the appearance of a large older house that has undergone cheap renovations and additions so that rooms could be rented out. On arrival they insisted on payment for both nights in advance. Polite attempts to discuss and compromise on this point produced an angry response from the staff. Perhaps they felt the need to discourage dissatisfied guests from changing their minds and leaving early. The room was clean, but the beds felt saggy and worn out. The appearance of the room was also very plain and somewhat worn, despite the bizarre placement of a few small exotic-looking cushions on the beds. We were able to open a window for ventilation, and though the air in our room was fresh enough, the public areas of the hotel had a strong smell of stale cigarette smoke most of the time. The hotel is situated on a busy road, on which cars travel at near highway speed, so we could hear a lot of noise from passing cars throughout the night. But the breakfast was the biggest disappointment. There were small amounts of a few kinds of bread, all hard, stale and tasteless. There were also tiny portions of cheese and cold cuts. The second day it appeared that we were being served leftovers from the day before. The discovery of mold on some of the bread supported that impression, and did away with whatever was left of our appetites. The Eikenhof was fairly expensive, and so we had expected to be treated to above average lodging and breakfast. We were sadly disappointed. We were very happy to leave the Eikenhof, and would certainly not return. We would also advise others to avoid this place.

Hotel pessimo, arredamenti vecchi e di cattivo gusto, moquette macchiata e puzzolente, la pulizia generale è scarsa e l'odore di spezie mediorientali cucinate male miste al letame dei pascoli completa il quadro... Inoltre è situato su una strada molto trafficata e rumorosa. Il prezzo delle camere non è assolutamente giustificato. Insomma, lasciate perdere!!!

niet vriendelijk en te veel voor de eigenaars om iets aan de kamer te doen qua herstellingen en qua poetsen en ook zeker niet verversen van de lakens en je moet zelf je lakens mee brengen om proper te liggen en het eten is alle dagen a la carte

Bij aankomst werden we vriendelijk ontvangen. Op de kamer bleek dat de 2 flesjes douchegel reeds gebruikt en aangelengd waren. Na het schoonmaken werden er ook geen nieuwe flesjes geplaatst, nadat de andere leeg waren. De handdoeken waren ook niet opnieuw opgevouwen nadat de kamer was schoongemaakt en deze waren oud en verwassen. Het hoogtepunt van de kamer was de dvdspeler, aangezien het hotel behalve een leeg cafe niets te bieden had als avondvullend vermaak. Gedurende het gehele verblijf hebben we geen enkele andere gast gezien. Er waren gedurende ons verblijf maar 2 personeelsleden, die zowel achter de receptie, bar, in het restaurant afwisselend werkten.Dit bleek geen probleem te zijn, daar er totaal geen andere gasten waren. Aan de ontbijttafel zaten we alleen in een ruimte met opgezette dieren en uitvaartmuziek. Een van de personeelsleden droeg 3 dagen achter elkaar dezelfde kleding en nadat er subtiel kritiek werd geuit over het slechte ontbijt (oud uitgedroogd brood, bedorven vleeswaren, zuur en lauw sinaasappelsap) werden we met een arrogante houding benaderd. We hadden tenslotte ''weinig betaald'' en hoefden daarom ook ''niets te verwachten van luxe'', terwijl vers brood bij een 3 sterrenhotel ons geen overbodige luxe leek.... Met andere woorden, dit hotel is absoluut geen aanrader!!
