"OTTIMO HOTEL IN POSIZIONE STRATEGICA"

"Don't waste your time"
07/22/15 mqkuznitz Boca Raton, FL
Located on Lido in Venice. Walked in at 7:15 pm as part of Trafalgar tour group to check in and I thought it was strange that the air conditioning was not on. This major fact was not shared by the staff at that moment. Rooms are small, bed ok, bathrooms not so great. So, we go to the dining room for our group dinner. The room is sweltering hot! My group that I am traveling with states that the AC is broken. I go to the front desk to inquire about the situation and informed that it has been really hot here for a month and the AC broke. That is a very bad response for anyone. Dinner was very very uncomfortable due to this major issue. AC was fixed just prior to dinner finishing. My question to this place....you knew we were coming. Why didn't you have a plan B to accommodate 48 people? Then the meal. Risotto was ok, chicken served with canned carrots and peas was horrible. I am of Italian decent and I have never had such poor quality of food. The chefs in this place need to get off their butts and cook meals that deserving of your beautiful city. Btw to compensate us for the AC issue we were given one free drink from the bar. Also, our waitress, Evangeline was so sweet trying to make a difficult situation better.

"Nice room ,,average food"

We stayed here for one night on our tour of Italy. Our room was small but clean and tidy. Quite modern by Italian standards. The meal we had as part of out tour group was very disappointing , having one slice of very salty pesto in (I think) pork with chips as a main course, no vegetables or salad. And dessert was ice cream with chocolate sauce. Breakfast was not too bad though

"A very modern hotel converted from an old monastery."
04/14/15 Shaka_Frank Aiea, Hawaii
This hotel was used by our Trafalgar tour as an overnight at Assisi. It rather in the middle of nowhere (if you were walking) and not close to the Abbey, but it was a very comfortable stay with good sized rooms and bathrooms. I still don't like having to pay for Wi-Fi, but had to here. Breakfast was very good, not the best of the tour, but certainly not the worst. The rain shower in the bathroom was a little weak for me, but I'm not a fan of rain shower heads anyway. The other odd thing was the heated towel rack, which was on some kind of timer to come on at night. Anyway, I couldn't control it. No big deal except I could have used it to dry some clothes if I knew how it worked. This is a very comfortable hotel, and I would not hesitate to recommend it for someone with a car to get around.

"Simplistically Grand"

This beautifully converted old school was designed with space, light and comfort in mind. Neutral tones combined with some innovative architecture created an appealing factor unique for a hotel. Rooms were spaceous, comfortable and came with all the expected amenities and facilities. Bathrooms in comparison were on the small side although this seems to be a common denominator with most Italian hotels. The evening meal supplied to our Tour group bordered inedible. Entree of Minestrone soup looked and tasted like the dregs of dishwater, pasta dish was overcooked with a warmed up glutenous white sauce, and the maincourse of chicken was roasted then reheated to a crisp by deep frying. Same applied to the potatoes. Both were liberally coated in salt and so over cooked to the point of cremation. For the sake of other guests thinking of dining, I trust the Chef's skills base has since been reviewed by hotel management...? The breakfast buffet in contrast was very good, Then again, little culinary skills were required for both preparation and presentation. Based on observations, this hotel generates alot of income from Tour groups and sadly the apathetic mentality toward customer service is begining to show with most employees here. A fantastic place to stay although disappointing with customer service products outside of Housekeeping.

"Modern, classic, peaceful"
09/25/14 NancyinMinnesnowta Mankato, Minnesota
The architecture of Hotel Cenacolo utilizes stone, steel, and glass, creating a structure with clean lines and simple décor, in keeping with its Franciscan history. Our room had neutral colors and a view of the lovely courtyard, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and clean. Our dinner at the hotel was delicious, with pasta, chicken with tomato sauce, and a dessert that reminded us of apple strudel with a smooth custard sauce on top. The dining room, however, was uncomfortably warm, and it reminded us of a school cafeteria with its long tables and loud decibel level. The buffet breakfast was plentiful, and coffee machines dispensed a variety of beverages, including Americano, macchiato, latte, and hot chocolate. The hotel has 3 floors with elevators, a rooftop bar, a pretty chapel (just follow the signs to find it) and free parking. The Wi-Fi is inconvenient and unpredictable. There's a bus stop outside the hotel with connections to Assisi every 20 minutes, and the railway station is 2 minutes away. You can rent bicycles on-site, or enjoy a pleasant walk; the area around the hotel is quiet and scenic. This is a unique property, and worth a visit.

"Modern; nice room"

We stayed here one night during a recent tour of Italy. The hotel is very modern and minimalist, which was fine with us. The bathroom was small but nice in that it had a walk-in shower. We were disappointed in the evening meal provided as part of the tour. Not particularly tasty.

"Modern, but with touches of classic hotel."
09/16/14 bonbonottawa Ottawa, Canada
Only there one night, but would happily stay longer. Updated modern hotel but touches of the classic building it once was. Beautiful chapel with sculptured walls and gorgeous stained glass. Great bar with friendly staff. Restaurant was okay. Beautiful courtyard and walking distance to trails for jogging, biking or walking. Beautiful scenery.

"Modern and clean"
08/19/14 MerryGoWorld
We stayed here for one night during a recent trip to Assisi. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Modern decor, almost minimalist. As stated by a previous reviewer the front desk can control the air conditioning. We too had to call the desk to have it "activated". The room had one of the best bathrooms we encountered in Italy. It had a comfortable shower area with good sealing doors. We found our stay to be restful, although there was a large group of young and loud athletes visiting the area for a tournament and you could hear them running and laughing in the hallways, but they did quiet down and we were afforded a decent night's sleep. Dinner was included in our stay, as was breakfast the next morning. The food offerings were more than adequate. Overall, despite the rowdy guests, it was a good experience and we would use this hotel again for a future visit to magical Assisi.

"Very nice hotel"

Near Assisi. Converted convent, modern design. Clean, good service, modern amenities-a/c, WiFi, breakfast include, pleasant, outdoor garden in courtyard. Well priced. Near a great small village, with good dinner options.
