This hotel is away fro the center of town, so you do need a car to get there, unless you plan on a taxi. You are quite close to the rock outcroppings, and we could see the mountain goats climbing on them in the mornings as we had breakfast on the balcony. The hotel is not fancy, but certainly clean and comfortable, and roomy. They have family rooms that will sleep 7. They had plenty of hot water, their air conditioning worked great, and we were quite happy! The litter of kittens added to the ambiance!

Our stay at San Giorgi was excellent. Despite a language barrier the host was young and extremely helpful with everything we needed, even washing and drying our clothes without cost. She was great. The location was great, isolated but a perfect base for climbing and visiting the monasteries. Definitely recommend for others wishing to stay near meteora.
