We stayed in the early spring. Glad to have a ceiling fan during the day and heater at night. The staff was very friendly. The town was just starting to open the tourist shops and the employees were nice to help us with any questions. Warning to other night owls, the town does shutdown shortly after the island and bars close their kitchens by 10. thers a store to get a few groceries in town or go to the next town over were the employees live.There was an issue with insects during the end of april. They didnt bite but came in swarms that hover near the coast. Don't plan on picnics but they can be walked thru if you go to the coast accross the street from the hotel. I love the fact that the hotel was walking distance to the ferry and the ferry shuttled us back after a long day at the island. Unfortunately The stone Arch on the island had a landslide the damaged the surrounding landscape, and partly filled in the Arch. Overall we loved our stay and the staff. The sight of the bridge nearby and the lighthouse were amazing.

Staff was super friendly, room was spacious and reasonable. Our only complaint was that the blankets on both beds were threadbare. The binding was partially torn off on my blanket and had a big loop that my foot got tangled in getting out of bed in the morning. My friend's blanket actually had areas where you could see thru the blanket, it was so worn. I'd stay there again and hope they purchase new blankets! (The mattresses and pillows were great and seemed new.) We woke up too late for breakfast! Oops!

We enjoyed our stay very much, the room was clean, the staff was friendly and the jacuzzi tub was awesome. We've stayed there several times and have a good experience each time. Will return again.

Hot water was not very well regulated. It would come and go when water in the next room was being used. The breakfast buffet was good, but a circuit would trip when both waffle irons were being used. There was an attendant that would reset the fuse, but as an electrician I felt this was problem that can easily be rectified. Otherwise, a fire could occur, and that is very dangerous for a hotel.

Situated in Mackinaw City, Capri Motel is close to Colonial Michilimackinac Park, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, and Mackinac Bridge.

"Truck show weekend"
Cute motel, clean and very friendly service! The owner went above and beyond to make me and my friend happy by lending us a card table for my booth at the truck show, and delivered it to my room! He even lent us a coffe pot for the room that would not normally be there! I enjoyed my stay and would def stay there again next year for the show!
"Capri Motel in Mackinaw City"
We got a clean room. We stayed 3 nights. Was quiet. Road noise was minimal, could not hear sound from next room. Was cleaned and beds made everyday. We did not pay a lot so we did not expect the extras...ie, internet, fridge, microwave, blow dryer for hair, coffee maker. But there was always coffee in the office. Can't comment on the pool that existed […] because it was being emptied because of end of the season. Nice continental breakfast, including biscuits and gravy. This was a nice Mom & Pop motel to stay at without the big price. Not much to do for kids except the pool.
room small but excellent for the price, breakfast, friendliness of the owner, discount ticket offer, shuttle service to the door. swimming pool looked inviting but a little cool during stay.

We were at first excited about what we got for the price, since we would basically just be sleeping there. However we faced reality very quick, as the refrigerator was broken before we could even use it. Nothing was even inspected before we checked in! Broken Refrigerator, phone didnt work, not even to call the front desk, crumbs in the dressers, alarm […] clocks and anything electric was not even plugged in!! And the MUSTY smell, oh my gosh, they couldn't even open the windows to air it out !!! Air conditioner didnt even work right, no shower curtain, had to call to wake up management for continental breakfast(if that is what you call it). "Capri Motel - Older Motel-Good Location-Low Rates"
Decent stay for the money. For summer, they have a nice outdoor pool. The rooms are clean but like I said, it is an older facility with all the basic necessities. However, the only issue was that the phone wouldn't allow a call to the front desk requiring me to walk up there to ask a question or make a request. Although, the walk didn't hurt since I […] probably needed it anyway. But other than that... the A/C worked and the TV channels were your basic cable. I asked the guy at the front desk what channel was HBO since it was on the sign outside the building. He said that since new ownership took over, they cancelled HBO and it hasn't been removed from the sign yet... just an FYI... but not a biggie. The rates are very reasonable too. Room was older but in excellent condition, friendly manager, and excellent rates. For the price, this was a great motel.

Rooms were smelly :| If you need a place to just stop over for the night, then this place is worth it.

"Smelly"
Very smelly rooms, we couldn't spend anytime there. I was however impressed that the staff arranged for us to swim at another hotel because the pool at this one was being serviced. There are so many other hotels in this place for not much more $ that likely don't smell as bad and are closer to the attractions. We would stay elsewhere next time.
