Farry's was a good value - large room, full kitchen, free internet, free parking, modest breakfast. Location is great for visiting Uni, and close to the many restaurants on George St. Bright sunny balcony was pleasant.

A well run B&B employing university students as receptionist/acting managers, thus providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Conveniently close to the city center, although the relatively short uphill climb may not be suitable for the less energetic. Recommended.

"Carrisbrook Motel, Dunedin"
Although this motel looked okay on the website, it is very old and tired. I would rate it a 2 at most. It is on the main road South and therefore noisy. The bedhead in the bedroom was against the road and there was no heating in that roo because of this I decided to stay in the single bed in the lounge. This bed had an electric blanket but no power […] point to plug into. I had to obtain an extension lead to plug it into the kitchen stove. The heater in the lounge room was a very noisy fan heater. There was a used casserolel dish in the microwave oven. When I booked online I was advised I would pay at checkout but found within two days of booking the cost of the motel had been charged to my creditcard. At least 2 months before. If I had not prepaid I would not have stayed. I found the tariff to be high for the standard of the motel. I could have stayed at The Quest in Dunedin for only $15 more per night.
