"perfect location for a restfull holiday"
We were very pleased with the hotel. Staff very friendly and service minded. If you find bed too hard bring this to their attention and you will have a softer overmatress put on the bed. Beautifull location right on the beach. Can definitely advise on this hotel so long as you are not the "night life" type.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"really nice hotel"
Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect place, perfect holiday."
The houses are comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed being just us under the stars in our "own" pool. What an experience. The food is great at the restaurant, though we found the breakfast being too pricy. The roomservice is quick, and we found the whole staff being very very kind to us. Special thanks to Lek, Eve and Tom. We were surprised to see that […] the beach was not dirty at all (we read in several reviews that it was poluted). Some of the houses are located just next to each other, so some times you can easily hear your neighbors, this is the only negative thing we can say about the place. We will come back.
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Magisk sted, usentralt."
Dusj under åpen himmel. Super eksotisk. Anbefales hardt.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room is great. However the facility in the hotel is not enough. The choice of food in restaurant must need to improve.
"Saree Samui - definetily relaxing"
Enjoyed our stay a lot. Cosy and quiet resort and neighbourhood. Excellent service (e.g. arranged a shower room to us on our check-out day 'cause our flight took off in the evening). Only minus was that the thai food menu of the restaurant could be better for spicy food lover and pesco-vegetarian. The quality of food, though, was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and it was absolute bliss. Our sea facing villa with a pool wasn't immediately available so they put is in another unit for the night we arrived. To compensate for this huge "misfortune" we got drinks on the house for the entire stay. Needless to say this more than made up for the very little inconvenience of staying in another villa for the night. We mostly only had breakfast and lunch at the hotel. Breakfast was always of a high standard, buffet style. Lunch was ok, sandwhiches, pizzas and other such variety, nothing to blow your hair back but nothing terrible either. We did not also have dinner there because we tried various areas around the hotel. The villa was beautiful, with an outside shower, bath and chill area with pillows and couches. Bed was hard, but not too uncomfortable, as is most beds in Thailand. The unit was air conditioned and had amenities such as bottled water and fruit provided daily. The pool area is beautiful, just as picturesque as the photos say, however pool service was sometimes a bit slow, and the amount of kids being rowdy at the pool was sometimes a little irritating, but you can't have everything in life can you? There were a few activities close to the hotel, especially the diving and boats that head out towards the reefs, but not a lot of in-sea activities that I experienced at hotels in Mauritius. Overall however a wonderful stay that was both beautiful, relaxing and not at all as expensive as it looked. Hotel staff were friendly, even though we struggled through the language barrier from booking to leaving, but such is life :)
"Great value, service beyond excellent."

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Saree Samui for 5 nights recently. A tropical villa with private pool was what we booked and it didn't disappoint. They are clean, well designed rooms with perks equivalent to that of a five star hotel. Breakfast was included and we ate at the restaurant every morning, where a bloke named pepsi would make an excellent omelette to request. We also ate lunch and dinner there many times, which was also very tasty. The resort itself is quiet, peaceful (besides the kids in the pool) and overall tranquil. The staff are incredibly accommodating and happy to help with any request. It fronts a quiet, sandy beach with azure blue water and a great view to match. There are, however, a few dogs that skulk around, which won't worry you if you ignore them. I couldn't really fault the resort; cheap, scenic, accommodating and only 20 minutes from Chaweng. One of the best holidays I've had.

Stayed here for 5 nights in July for part of our honeymoon, and were treated like royalty. Service was so polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome. We had a garden room and was amazing, with an outside lounge area (covered overhead) garden, large partially outside bathroom with a double sunken bath! The rooms were spotless and large kingsize bed with AC and fridge and TV. Complimentary toiletries were the best we had on our travels. Didn’t need bring any here! Breakfast was included and this was a large array of cooked breakfast items, continental, fruits, egg station, Thai selection etc, there was always so much on offer help yourself buffet. Pool was great right on the beach with always enough sunbeds round the pool or on the beach. Hardly any sellers on the beach as this is up at the quiet end so not as many people here. Its almost right next door to the Lomprayah ferry Pier but it does not get noisy at all and we never heard the ferrys at all. So don’t let this influence your decision. But what is good is that you can walk to or from the ferry with no need for taxis, as we were traveling to the other islands it was very handy. It’s literally a 5 min walk to the main road and there’s lots of restaurants/ bars nearby. This is in a still traditional feeling town with no large shopping complexes or massive resorts like some parts are now. Would definitely go back here in a flash.
"Good value resort with one major issue"

We stayed at Saree Samui in July. It's a good resort with nice open plan rooms which suits the tropical climate of Thailand. The rooms are also very private as they are enclosed within a wall with a tropical garden or pool depending on your room type. There are a few restaurants near the hotel or you can walk 20 mins or so to beach side restaurants in Mae Nam town via ring road. Cafe Talay is the pick of these beach restaurants for Thai food. The service and staff at hotel are very friendly and keen to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The only critisim we had was the amount of dogs on the resort. A pack of dogs patrols the beach in front of the resort and also wander on the grounds near the villas. One day we saw the dogs urinate on the belongings of a hotel guest at the beach. On another day a pack of dogs surrounded a guest on their beach bed and basically attacked for food. When we spoke to the manager about the dog issues they were of the view that there was not much they could do. I do not think this response was satisfactory, stray dogs carry disease and there is the potential that a guest of the hotel could suffer a substantial injury if bitten. This was our second stay at this resort and there was no dog problem last time. Management has changed since our last stay and I think they have dropped standards regarding dogs( there was a stray at reception when we checked out). It is a fine line between well run resorts and not well run. Hopefully the dog issue at this resort is is resolved as it was a major negative impact on our stay at this resort.

My partner and I stayed at the Saree Samui for 12 nights late June/early July. The hotel was everything we expected and more. We upgraded to a tropical pool villa before we arrived and it was definitely worth the extra money, the main pool closes at 7pm so it was nice to have our own pool to go in whenever we wanted (most evenings when we got back drunk). We even ended up getting upgraded again by the hotel to a beach view pool villa, free of charge. The room and private pool were cleaned daily and we have no complaints about cleanliness. We loved the outdoor bathroom and I even had a bath in the huge tub one day! The hotel was was so expensive compared to outside the hotel we didn't drink much at the bar. Breakfast was always good. Food in the hotel restaurant was also very tasty. All of the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Great location - tucked away from the busy road but still only a short stroll to the local bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. There are some fantastic restaurants close by Johns Garden and Khun Anna were our favourites. We drank in Mays bar (turn left at the top main road) as the staff in there were great. Maenam beach was actually very disappointing for myself as it wasn't as clean as other beaches on the island. The water was not very clean, compare it with Chaweng and there really is no contest! Watch out for jellyfish too, if you can see them in the murky water! Pool area was lovely and peaceful, good quality sun loungers available although maybe a little dated. Would definitely return to this hotel in the future and would also definitely recommend to anyone. Oh and watch out for the frogs when you're walking through the gardens at night!
"A LITTLE GEM"

Just back from staying 18 nights at the Saree Samui,(room 318) we had a fantastic time .the hotel has a great location on one of the nicest beaches on Koh Samui no rubbish or litter and the sea is nice and clean to swim in , The pool area was also very relaxing with plenty of sun loungers to choose from no matter what time of day,The room /villas we stayed in was very spacious with a outside bathroom and semi open lounge area ,the bedroom was a good size to ,my only criticism of the bedroom was lack of wardrobe and drawer space, breakfast was included in are package there was a good choice of food .Outside the hotel approximate 5 minutes walk there are plenty of little restaurants to choose from, we dined at Johns Garden restaurant 3 or 4 times it was always very good . Sonya and Philip's restaurant in the same area served some of the best Thai food we have ever had in Thailand ,you must try the crispy duck in red curry . on the beach 400 metres to the right of the hotel is a little beach restaurant called Cocorico a great place to have a few sundowners and a bowl of Tom Yum Goon soup. One of the best things about the Saree Samui is the staff ,they are very helpful and always smiling , I would like to thank Lilly - Lek - M - and all of the rest of the staff at the Saree Samui for making this one of are best holidays in Thailand. hope to see you all again soon

"good but not perfect"

We had a wonderful holiday at this resort. The gardens are amazing, the pool location is gorgeous and its a real quiet place. The spa is fantastic! But we did have some things that could be better. - the room wasn't really cleaned properly. For the prices they charge i would at least excpect them to arrange the pillows on the couch and make it look nice, but they didnt and often they didnt take all the garbage. The wooden floor of the outside area got dusty and dirty from walking on it, but not once did they mob the floor. I often had the feeling that all they did was make the bed... - the pool area was really in need of a renovation. The wooden floorboards were broken or sticking out and loose, it was not really safe for our little son. - the poolwater didn't smell clean - because of low season staff didnt always have much to do so there were many times that they were hanging around in a group and talking and just joking around with eachother.. the fact that they did this in front of hotek guests didnt really come across as professional. - thai people love children and the staff loved our little boy, which was very sweet, but at some times, like during breakfast, it wasnt really apropriate since we were trying to have a nice family breakfast but every 2 minutes another staff member wanted to play with our son... Now some positive things - we had some problems with our airconditioning and with power in the room, this was very nicely solved. We even got a nice apology letter and fruitplate and a complimentary transfer to the pier on departure. - while we were there a new hotel manager arrived, a thai lady from bangkok. She was very good! Friendly but professional! I think with her guidance, the hotel has great possibillities! - the spa was very good! We went twice for the oil massage and it was lovely! Its more expensive then outside the hotel, but we found that it was worth it! - walking distance, towards the main road, there are reataurants and some bars and shops. We ate at a place called Pooms place, by mr Lek. We went there every night, the thai food is the best! Try the panang curry! But he also makes a really good burger! And his wife is so sweet. Its not expensive at all and really good food! All and all we had a nice stay, and we might come back next year!
"Short stay holiday"

We stayed at Saree Samui for three nights in June . It was end of the busy season so the hotel was very quiet. The resort is tucked away from the main road so it is very quiet and you could relax without being disturbed by a street noise. The location is not bad as it is very easy to get around. The main road with plenty of little shops is just a short stroll down the road. Hotel also offers taxi service however the local taxis outside of the resort are much cheaper. We have stayed in the hotel's standard room (bungalow) which was nice. However the walls need repainting and bathroom which was outside could do with deep cleaning. The room had nice outside seating area. There was also CD player in our room which I think was a nice touch. The pool area was nice but decking and some of the sun chairs need updating. The hotel is right on the beach therefore you are not limited to pool only. Beach is nice and clean. There is also pool bar which offers cocktails and food. The cocktails were nice but the presentation could be slightly better. The restaurant is overlooking the beach and it is very nice and comfortable. The food was very nice and the hotel special lunch deals were good value for money. The spa was nice and clean. The spa staff is professional and well trained in their profession. I had a nice massage and I highly recommend to try it out. The hotel offered 15 minutes free so it gives you opportunity to try them first before paying for a full treatment. The hotel staff was nice and trying hard for their guests to feel comfortable. Only downside was that they were trying to sell their special deals very hard and on an occasion it made us feel hustled. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay.
"Excellent hotel, in a great setting"
We've just returned from an excellent stay at the Saree Samui. All the positive comments in the other reviews are spot on and based on our experience we have no idea why this place has received some negative comments / reviews. We found the setting excellent. It is situated on a quite lane with plenty of bars and restaurants within short walking distance and the excellent Fishermans Village a 5 min taxi ride away if you want something more lively. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were great, housekeeping was excellent and of course the setting is amazing, with the pool, bar and restaurant overlooking a peaceful beach with views towards Koh Phanangn. We travelled as a family with 3 children (4-8 age range). Thank you Saree Samui for an excellent holiday, highly recommended.
