The Hotel was in the final phases of becoming a DoubleTree by Hilton when I stayed there. The hotel was updated. There was ample parking. The common areas and the rooms were updated. New furniture. New sheets. Clean. At this point this hotel has to be the nicest in the area. Most other hotels are disgusting in the city.

This is an amazing Hotel. It is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are so accomodating, clean and beautiful.. Great View too. I would not hesitate to tell anyone about this Hotel. Hope I have the opportunity to stay there again.

The Riverwalk Hotel is in the process of being taken over by the Doubletree, so our room had brand new carpeting and lots of updates were evident. In a couple of weeks the whole place should be renovated. The person at the desk and the wait staff in the adjoining bar/restaurant were great. We had dinner there and it was decent. They were working on the hotel at the time, so taking a much needed nap was not in the cards for me...but I was confortable trying. The room was beautiful, view stellar, and if I needed anything i knew I could cll the front desk and 'ye shall receive.' I can't wait to be there again...

In town to tour SUNY Binghamton. Driving to the hotel late at night, I experienced a slight twinge of regret when I saw the surrounding area. I was however pleasantly surprised to find a newly furbished immaculate hotel. The room and bathroom were pristine and smartly furnished. The free breakfast buffet topped off the pleasant experience.

I stayed on the 5th floor. Mirror in bathroom had some circular flaws as if something like a makeup mirror had once been attached. No door on closet. Rubber bath mat stained and needed to be replaced. Carpet in hall all bunched up. Continental breakfast minimal. My stay at the Riverwalk Hotel was very positive overall. The staff were super-friendly and tried hard to accommodate my needs. Parking was free, convenient and well-lighted. Ultimately the room I stayed was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The pool and spa facility were first-rate - and open late enough to be enjoyed after dinner. The restaurant […] was attractively appointed and served excellent food. However, a few things were unfortunate about my experience. First, the desk clerk was unable or unwilling to give me a room at the rate quoted on-line, so I made the reservation via smart-phone, and waited in the bar for it to come through. Next, my room was very cold - 62F. I reported this to the desk, had dinner, and went back to find the room - very cold. I reported it again, on my way for a swim, and was told after my lovely experience at the spa that my room was being moved. I was not offered any sort of upgrade, discount or free service for my trouble. But I did get working heat and a good night's sleep. In the morning I ordered room service, and got exactly what I ordered - minus some basic condiments like salt for the eggs and butter for the bread. Again, staff were very accommodating, and brought condiments and hot eggs (at my request) and hot bread (their idea) so I could have a nice breakfast. These inconveniences aside, I can recommend the Riverwalk Hotel unreservedly to a business traveler or vacationer wanting a lovely place to stay in Binghamton. Read more

Loved it - will stay again. Kids had a great time in the pool HOWEVER the hotel and gym rules require that you have to wear your clothes down to the pool and change in and out of your suits there. Best hotel swimming pool ever: 60 feet long, 2 marked lanes for laps, clean hot tub, a sauna, a lifeguard on duty, large towels, and a swimsuit water extractor. Walking into the Lobby of the hotel, an overwhelming smell of cholorine bleach hit me. I guess this is better than the alternative, but as the swimming pool was far down the hall behind closed doors, I thoght this was excessive. The hotel itself is kinda old. I guess it's under the renovation to switch to double tree. The lobby and gym and the restaurants are really nice, spacious and new. Especially the gym, it's amazingly big, has all the equipments i need and also a pool and sauna. The Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel & Conference Center is currently undergoing renovations to become a Hilton Doubletree hotel. While the first 2 floors that include the lobby, reception, and conference rooms are updated and nice, the rooms are not. The rooms still have dated and cheap furniture, and worn and stained carpet dress the hallway. I would have […] expected a much better rate, considering they are in the middle of updating. That said, the rooms are spacious, have nice flat-screen tvs, and are one of the few I've visited who have decent WiFi internet in the room. Free parking is nice in downtown, but construction was being done too close to the covered parking. Workout facilities are in a club steps from the hotel, but far too popular during the day. Service could also be improved as we did not get room service for the 3 days we stayed. I reported this to the front desk as I was checking out, and only received a quick apology. I hope the new hotel moniker and renovations bring a greater attention to service as well. Read more

The cleaning staff left used soap and shampoo from the previous guest in the bathroom. The windows are dirty, therefore, it is best not to look out the window. The complimentary breakfast is served at the bar/lounge therefore, comfortable seating is limited.

one of the loudest non-window-unit air conditioners I've ever heard! the carpets were a bit wrinkled and stained in the hall, also the elevator. The fitness club looked state-of-the-art though I didn't use it. The adjacent Susquehanna river did provide a nice exercise path. It was easy to get to 17 or 81 from here, so the location is fairly good, though […] the general Binghamton area is a bit run-down. Not much to do about that. I knew I was going to arrive at the hotel late at night and so I called ahead to let them know. I arrived, exhausted at 12 10AM. The front door of the hotel was locked and there was no one there on duty to open it. I literally had to wave my arms frantically to attract the attention of the desk clerk who had to call a security guard who mosied on over […] to open the door for me after about 4 minutes of waiting. I can tell you that it was not a good way to start our stay. However our room was warm and reasonably clean and the breakfast was tolerable, although the coffee at the breakfast bar was off the bottom of the charts and undrinkable. Conclusion: a fair experience. The hotel is located in a pretty abandoned and industrial section of town and you have to go through some fairly ???? neighborhoods to get to it, so prepare yourself mentally first. Read more

Cleaning crew missed prior guests pretzels by the beds. Odd smell in hallway that did not disapate in two nights we stayed. Linens were clean. Beds comfy. No cookies offered. (Saw them mentioned in other folks reviews.) Too bad. Check in person very helpful in offering local tips. Check out person barely acknowledged we left.
