Overall, I was pleased with the stay. The room was clean, though I thought the twin beds were short (and I'm just over 5 feet tall). This may be typical of South America, but I'm not sure. I had a window over the entrance of the hotel, and there was a lot of noise from workers or people outside starting around 6 am. This may be the hotel construction workers, but it wasn't the best way to wake up during my vacation. My only other critique was poor lighting in the room. The bathroom had poor lighting over the only mirror in the room, and the main part of the room was lit with a bunch of small lamps. I had to turn on 4 lamps to have enough light to sort through my suitcase or read. I didn't see the other hotel rooms in the area, but I thought the room was overpriced for what it was. The lobby, exterior and pool area were all very nice, but the room didn't match up to the same level.

Nice layout and pool. Service was basic but friendly. The food was a bit dissapointing and the room could have been furnished better. Great environment in the jungle with buldings connected by boardwalks.

We loved staying here. The ladies are nice and helpful (one even speaks pretty good English). The breakfast is great. The rooms aren't fancy but are nice, clean and comfortable. It's a short walk to many restaurants and the bus stop.

The hotel is currently in the midst of a major renovation and upgrade. I think that it was probably nice in the past but the decor was dated and would love to see what they do with it.The service was great and with an updated look this place could be truly nice. Breakfast was good each morning.

reasonably priced, cute little bed and breakfast. rooms are a little small, but the romantic suite is awesome!!! i highly recommend "splurging" and... getting the romantic suite. Walkable distance to a huge mall and fairly safe neighborhood. A little far from center/town though....in the suburbs...not much around but the mall... easy to catch nearby buses and taxi's though. Although the host/owner of this B&B was very friendly and helpful, I would not reccomend staying here for the following reasons: 1) Location of the house was pretty far from the bus terminals and downtown. It looked close to the falls on the map but having to travel by bus to the Falls in Argentina side took 1hr 30min with 3 transfers (one at the central […] terminal, puerto iguacu, at park). We would have rather stayed in Argentina for a night instead of having to drive back to her house at night after dinner. FYI buses from Argentina stop running after 7 or 8pm. Taxi would be most convenient but would cost around $150 round trip from her house, to the Argentina side of falls and back. Neigherhood itself was safe. If I were to do it again, we would stay closer downtown to shorten the commute, if we could find a place with comparable rates. 2) Her house is very nice and clean, but we had to share the bathroom with other people in the house which was not good. There is only one room with its own bathroom, I don't reccomend staying here unless you can specifically book the romantic room. 3) Service was good overall. Maria accepted dollars because we didn't realize that Hotel.com did not charge the room with our card so we didn't have much Brazilian cash left. She was very nice to let us do that. Maria answered most of our questions but was not very specific about how to get to the falls by bus. We got more information from the information desk at the central terminal bus station downtown. She gave us great tips regarding our commute route, restaurants, that the buses stop running a certain time. Breakfast was nice. The people that were staying there with us was also very pleasant. The bedroom was very clean. Down points were that we had to find her for little things like the remote fore the AC, no trash can in the rooms, no hair dryer uunless you ask for it, no place to hang towels. Of all the places we stayed in South America The Marica was the warmest and friendliest of all. This is a very clean and comfortable guest house located with great access to the National Park, Foz center and the airport. Maria the owner was a great host and made the place feel more like a home away from home.

Petite maison dans un quartier chic et calme, pas très loin du centre ville. Marcia est très accueillante. Peu de chambres, propice à la convivialité.
