"Exceptional, fabulous stay, very relaxing place, outstanding value for money"

With a couple and their two children, I’ve recently rent « Il Villino », a villa with a small garden that Villa Sorrento proposes on a weekly basis, at a very short walking-distance from the B&B. So I here testify for both the Villino and the services provided by the B&B (swimming pool, gardens, global service). My friends and I are used to renting villas in Italy, however we agree that Villa Sorrento has been one of the two or three best experiences we ever had in many years. The whole property (B&B and Villino) is located in a beautiful and quiet “agrumeria”, where the owners live. The villa is absolutely perfect, highly above expectations: spacious, very clean, provided with plenty of towels and amenities. Beds are very comfortable and surroundings are quiet. The swimming pool is absolutely exceptional: very spacious, outstandingly clean, located in a beautiful, flowered quiet terrace with plenty of trees to allow some shade when outside temperature is too hot. Though Villa Sorrento benefits from discount prices at Meta beaches, we preferred to stay at the swimming pool, for its relaxing atmosphere. What did seduce us at Villa Sorrento was the service: the Villa is owned and managed by a family whose members are extremely friendly and customer-oriented. Stefania and Diana regularly took care of us. On the night of our arrival we were welcomed by a generous plate of perfumed lemons from the family’s agrumeria, with which we made wonderful refreshing lemonades during the whole week. As the owners-family live in the property, we regularly met them, either at the terrace of the swimming pool or on the pathway between the Villa and the agrumeria. This allowed to share conversations and gave us the feeling of being part of the family. They regularly gave us useful information for our stay and journeys in the region (and also took care of my problems with Air France who lost my luggage in the way in…). This "family"-like spirit of the whole Villa was a real "+" for us, it was a significant differentiation compared to the usual cold / real-estate like rentals. Regarding the villas’ location, Meta is an ideal spot to visit the region, from Ercolano to Sorrento and the islands. Cost of living is less expensive than in Sorrento and most attractions (Pompei, Ercolano, Oplontis, Sorrento…) are at 15 to 30 minutes from Meta by train (train station is at a short walking-distance from the Villa). Capri is at only 30 minutes from Sorrento. The Villa is located right in the center of the village, where we took breakfasts (two excellent bakeries: Caracciolo and another one some meters further) and where you can find all kinds of shops (the only missing shop in the whole city of Meta is a good “gelateria”, but this is globally true for the whole Sorrento area). Beaches can be reached by foot or by bus, however compared to the beautiful surroundings of the Villa Sorrento terrace and swimming pool, Meta’s extremely crowded and noisy beaches look poorly attractive (but this is true for the whole Sorrento-Napoli bay). There are a few good restaurants and pizzerias, and beautiful panoramic spots at a 5 minute-walk from the villa. Villa Sorrento provides outstanding value for money, and we will come back one year. In the meanwhile we do recommend it to any traveler that wishes to relax in a quiet and friendly atmosphere and visit one of the most beautiful and interesting area of Italy.

Once we figured out where we were and the bus routes and schedules it was fabulous. Steffania and Diana were both absolutely marvelous one morning Steffania gave us bus tickets so we didn't have to walk up the hill to the Tabachi. Will definitely return.
"Restful tranquility but close to the action"

Villa Sorrento was a restful oasis within easy walking distance to both Piano di Sorrento and Meta (nice, non-touristy towns but with nice beaches just short walks away!) and only 4km from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento. And best, a short walk to the train station so Naples, Mount Faito, Herculanium, Pompeii, Vesuvius, and Sorrento are also close and convenient by the local train (for which you can get an unlimited 3 day pass) The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed but the pool/garden area was the shining star. Not only was the pool open extended hours (at many hotels the pool is closing just as you return from a day of playing tourist) it was deep, well-located, and tranquil. Though as comes with the nature of these hilly towns, the walks are sometimes steep, but the breakfast place, a local wine shop (with huge vats of locally produced wine), several shops and restaurants, and even a well-stocked supermarket are on fairly level comfortable walks. But special mention here should go the staff, Helpful and attentive well beyond expectations and the best service that we've experienced in the region. I can't wait to come back again with a less hectic schedule and relax by the pool for a few days!
"Nice place, good value"

Generally we agree with the favorable comments made by others except concerning breakfast which is no longer offered on site. We were told quite firmly that our rate did not include breakfast but for an additional fee they have an arrangement with a place about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We did use it and it is fine. However a facility described as a 'Bed & Breakfast' should include breakfast. This may of course be more of an issue with the booking company we used but nowhere in our documents did it state breakfast was extra.

We stayed in the Capri and Positano room, Our Capri room had a beautiful balcony where me and my wife sat every evening to enjoy a bottle of wine while watching the sunset, our boys age 10 and 12 had a lovely room next door overlooking the pool, Stefania the owner was a very sweet lady and made us feel very welcome, the rooms were very clean and we had daily maid service. Thanks to Stefania who organised our transfer and an amazing Amafi Coast Tour with Vittorio from Rosato Private Tours. We highly recommend this beautiful place and we can't wait to come back again.
"Ideal base for a late september holiday"

This villa is situated near the centre of Meta. There are rail connections to Pompeii and the other historical sites on the Neopolitan riviera and it is easy to get to Sorrento as well with the Amalfi coast possible from there using the blue buses from Sorrento bus station. The villa was clean and the room we had was comfortable with excellent air- conditioning and a terrace/balcony overlooking the garden.Late September we had the place to ourselves for most of the time and made good use of the pool. The beach in Meta is also close at hand. The wireless internet worked very efficiently from the downstairs reception area Stefania was a very attentive and helpful host and was even able to phone up the local dentist to get me some emergency treatment! One tip- the front gate of the villa opens out onto a busy road and you need to take care when exiting. For this reason we tended to use the back gate the key to which is also there on the keys Stefania gives you on arrival
"Lovely place, away from the hussle & bussle of Sorrento."
07/31/12 SigiL Wavre, Belgium
Pros - Very nice place, away from the hussle and bussle of Sorrento, altough located very close (3 train stations - 5 min). - Extremely quiet, people staying there do pay attention to the others and don't make noise in the morning/night. - Great to have a pool to relax after a busy day visiting the area. - Breakfast is good with different options (all sugary though) and fresh orange juice! Cons - The pool is unfortunately shared with an appartement (up to 5 persons, and of course 5 persons were staying there because it was July) that the owner of the B&B rents nextdoor, thus can be busy (I think the B&B has 7 rooms in total). - Bed is too small.
"Villa Sorrento- a beautiful property in a lovely place."
07/08/12 Louise T Shrewsbury, United Kingdom
The property was beautiful, centrally posiioned in Meta. We chose this accommodation because of previous reviews and its proximity to the circumvesuviana station - we were planning a trip to Pompeii. We were made very welcome on arrival and shown to the accommodation's private parking, just up the road from the Villa. The rooms we had booked were well decorated and beautifully clean. Breakfast was modest- a bit of fresh fruit or yoghurt alongside the cereal and pastry choices would be a good and easy addition. We had a meal at Tico Tico - beautiful views from the terrace , good food and nice prices. and Pizza at Peccati di Gola, an unassuming excellent value choice for pizza. All in all our 2 days in Meta were excellent and achieved our objectives of Pompeii, pool and good food.

We spent our 25th Anniversary here in a beautiful, immaculate, pristine villa. Stefania was wonderful. We got a little lost when first arriving but her really nice husband came and got us. Everything was so clean and it felt new. The pool was lovely on those hot afternoons and the sunset from the rooftop was amazing. Parking is a little ways away from the villa, but it is behind a secure gate in a lemon grove. Although you don't hear the traffic, the road the villa is on is busy. Walking or driving out of the gate is an adventure. Breakfast is outside in the garden, lovely fresh juice, freshly made coffee and pastries. I could rave about this place all day. Sometimes it felt like we had it to ourselves. Meta had some great restaurants and wonderful views. We drove the Amalfi coast (not that hard once you master the thin roads). Gorgeous drive. The weather was perfect (early June). I loved Sorrento. Everything smells of lemons. Lovely shopping area for gifts, fabulous restaurants. Overall, I would reccommend this villa. It's a must.
"Charming Villa in Amalfi"
06/21/12 shrumpetto Dallas, Texas
Meta wasn't one of our choices to stay in while in Amalfi, but I'm glad we did. Meta isn't very touristy, but it has some excellent restaurants that are way cheaper than anything in Sorrento. There were only locals, which made it even better. Estafania was wonderful. She recommended places to go and see, and which beach clubs gave the villa a discount. The Villa itself is very charming. It has about 7 rooms, all very different and beautiful. This was the best place we stayed at in Amalfi. The furniture appeared to be all new, the bedding was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom and the shower were very clean. The rooms are very big. The pool was nice and the terrace offered wonderful views. We also enjoyed the beautiful garden with oranges and lemons and rose bushes. Estafania made us cappuccinos and espressos at breakfast, which she serves in the garden. We loved this place!
