"A relaxing and friendly stay"
We stayed for 6 nights. Very nice place, away from the hussle and bussle of Sorrento. Very quiet. The rooms were simple and basic but very clean and cool, all have air con, but we actually didn't need to put ours on. The grounds were clean and you could just sit and sip or read with great views. The pool was ideal, cool to dip into while sunbathing, kept clean. The staff is very helpful and assist you. Steffania and Diana were both absolutly great.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Villa Sorrento. We had some difficulty finding it but if you keep in mind that the Villa is in Meta and not Sorrento, it will help to narrow down your search. We were warmly welcomed by Stefania. When we asked where we could buy a bottle of cold wine our hostess quickly returned with a bottle of local wine, already chilled and some glasses. A swim in the beautiful pool and a glass of wine was delightful. Our hostess recommended a lovely beachfront restaurant where we ate very well. We were only sorry that we had to leave the next morning.

"Centrally located B@ B in the small town of Meta"
Originally thought our B&B was in Sorrento, realized it was in Meta a small town several stops away from the touristy town of Sorrento. We stayed here a week, used it as a base to visit Pompei,Naples and the Amalfi coast

"A simple 'home from home' with lovely pool."
Very friendly, helpful owners in a quiet village location. Good public transport and sunny 'lido style' beaches within walking distance. Delicious local resturants as well and good location for visits to Amalfi Coast/Herculaneum. Excellent guided walking/food tasting tour all around Meta 'old town' was a must!

"Familiehotel i top"
skønt familiehotel i dejlig lille by Meta. Vi var 2 voksne og 4 børn og fik vores egen private P plad, samt 2 værelser ved siden af hinanden. Servicen fra Stefania er i top og afstanden til gode spisesteder og børnevenlig strand er lille. Hyggeligt familiehotel i hyggelige omgivelser.

"Lovely Little Place"
08/23/15 Donna B London, United Kingdom
We arrived later than planned on a stormy Saturday night, I'd liaised building up to our stay with Stefania, regarding time of arrival, our flight was cancelled and we arrived at 11pm, but she came across to let us in, explained various things to us, provided timetables for buses and trains and was very welcoming. The pool is lovely, very clean and warm, not crowded, it's one depth 2.4m which I would say is my only criticism of it, I wanted to cool off but had to tread water, but it's not a major issue for anyone else, I'm just a bit lazy when on holiday. The location is fantastic, there are eateries and bars within minutes, the beach is downhill which is great, the locals are lovely, just be careful on exiting the property as it's straight on to the road, so don't rush out, I would return to this lovely, clean guest house,.

"Lovely hosts and a good base to start sightseeing Pompeii, Sorrento, Amalfi Cost and more"
08/11/15 dannen11 Frankfurt, Germany
Villa Sorrento is located in an area with heavy traffic. But house and swimming pool are situated in the back of a nice looking garden with orange trees. The rooms are quite, a little bit small but clean. The Circumvesuviano railroad is close, so you can reach Pompeii, Sorrento or Napoli in a short time. We explored Massa Lubrense and Amalfi Cost as well by scooter, that we rent in Sorrento. Our host was so lovely. She gave us a lot of good tips for dinner sightseeing and more. At the end of the stay in Villa Sorrento she was a great help to get back to Napoli airport.

"Lovely apartment away from the crowds"
07/26/15 Audrie107 Cambridge, United Kingdom
Myself and my 2 sisters stayed at Villa Sorrento for 10 days, we are all 60+ We drove from Naples airport and had the use of the free car park near the villa. Stefania was a fabulous host and nothing was too much trouble. She booked trips for us, took us on a tour of her lemon groves and even carried our cases to our room when we arrived! Raphello took care of us each morning delivering a delicious breakfast to the outside dining area. At Euros 3.50 we enjoyed fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh baked croissants. We also asked for a jug of hot water to top up the strong Italian coffee, making a great start to our morning. We were grateful to have our own shelf in the fridge to keep the wine and beer cool and use of the small kitchen. There is no kettle and limited amount of space, but we were able to prepare snacks and simple meals for ourselves We had a lovely balcony overlooking the garden.Great for getting clothes dried. It was very quiet at the back of the house. The main terrace was great for sitting early evening with a drink to watch the sunsets over the sea. The swimming pool was perfect for cooling down. There is a tucked away raised area with a hammock, changing room and toilet. There's a drink and snack machine and plenty of loungers. We mostly had the pool to ourselves, the only downside is, it is the same depth all over (about 8 foot) so too deep to touch the bottom, and one of my sisters can't swim, so was very nervous about letting go of the side. We would definitely recommend Villa Sorrento as a friendly, clean and easy to access base to anyone wanting to explore this part of Italy, as long as you are not expecting a beach holiday. The train station although only 10-15 minute walk away is uphill and in the heat, it was out of the question for us to walk to during the day. The beach too is quite a walk down very steep slopes. We only went once, stayed for 5 minutes and caught the bus back to the top! We wouldn't recommend Meta as a place for swimming in the sea. The nearest place to eat out is a friendly cafe on a noisy road junction with cars and moped fumes in your face. However there is a fruit and veg shop and small supermarket next tpo the cafe, all only a few minutes walk from the Villa. Eating out and buying food and drinks in Meta was much cheaper than Sorrento.

"I'll be back :)"

We stayed at the Villa Sorrento in Meta for 5 days (20th to 25th of June). We had a wonderful stay, nice clean rooms, very nice and service minded owners (it was as if I was visiting my grandma....) and beautiful surroundings. The beach is a short walk away, with some good restaurants and a beautiful view over Sorrento and the Napoli bay. The pool was nice and clean, and the garden was beautiful, lots of lush flowers! The Circumvesuviano railroad has a stop only 10 minutes walk from the villa, with a short distance to the center of Sorrento. If I ever return to Sorrento I would stay there again, definitely.

Great place to stay. Clean and lovely relaxing garden, with pool, which was very clean. Short walk to train station for visiting Sorrento, Pompeii and other towns. Ideal location. Near beaches. Small friendly village. Steffania was so helpful and friendly. Would recommend to anyone who doesn't want the hustle and bustle of Sorrento.....

A lovely place to stay, nice quiet garden, nice room & balcony - very clean. The pool area is large, and we liked the little raised area with the hammock. The on - sight vending machine was a Godsend (a coffee machine would've been great! ). Just two things to bear in mind; the pool is extremely deep at 2.4m (9 feet )...This meant that my wife wouldn't use it as she's not comfortable out of her depth. Also, the drive exit onto the road is quite hazardous because of the lack of visibility of oncoming cars + scooters. All in all, a good place to stay with friendly owners.

"Exceptional, fabulous stay, very relaxing place, outstanding value for money"

With a couple and their two children, I’ve recently rent « Il Villino », a villa with a small garden that Villa Sorrento proposes on a weekly basis, at a very short walking-distance from the B&B. So I here testify for both the Villino and the services provided by the B&B (swimming pool, gardens, global service). My friends and I are used to renting villas in Italy, however we agree that Villa Sorrento has been one of the two or three best experiences we ever had in many years. The whole property (B&B and Villino) is located in a beautiful and quiet “agrumeria”, where the owners live. The villa is absolutely perfect, highly above expectations: spacious, very clean, provided with plenty of towels and amenities. Beds are very comfortable and surroundings are quiet. The swimming pool is absolutely exceptional: very spacious, outstandingly clean, located in a beautiful, flowered quiet terrace with plenty of trees to allow some shade when outside temperature is too hot. Though Villa Sorrento benefits from discount prices at Meta beaches, we preferred to stay at the swimming pool, for its relaxing atmosphere. What did seduce us at Villa Sorrento was the service: the Villa is owned and managed by a family whose members are extremely friendly and customer-oriented. Stefania and Diana regularly took care of us. On the night of our arrival we were welcomed by a generous plate of perfumed lemons from the family’s agrumeria, with which we made wonderful refreshing lemonades during the whole week. As the owners-family live in the property, we regularly met them, either at the terrace of the swimming pool or on the pathway between the Villa and the agrumeria. This allowed to share conversations and gave us the feeling of being part of the family. They regularly gave us useful information for our stay and journeys in the region (and also took care of my problems with Air France who lost my luggage in the way in…). This "family"-like spirit of the whole Villa was a real "+" for us, it was a significant differentiation compared to the usual cold / real-estate like rentals. Regarding the villas’ location, Meta is an ideal spot to visit the region, from Ercolano to Sorrento and the islands. Cost of living is less expensive than in Sorrento and most attractions (Pompei, Ercolano, Oplontis, Sorrento…) are at 15 to 30 minutes from Meta by train (train station is at a short walking-distance from the Villa). Capri is at only 30 minutes from Sorrento. The Villa is located right in the center of the village, where we took breakfasts (two excellent bakeries: Caracciolo and another one some meters further) and where you can find all kinds of shops (the only missing shop in the whole city of Meta is a good “gelateria”, but this is globally true for the whole Sorrento area). Beaches can be reached by foot or by bus, however compared to the beautiful surroundings of the Villa Sorrento terrace and swimming pool, Meta’s extremely crowded and noisy beaches look poorly attractive (but this is true for the whole Sorrento-Napoli bay). There are a few good restaurants and pizzerias, and beautiful panoramic spots at a 5 minute-walk from the villa. Villa Sorrento provides outstanding value for money, and we will come back one year. In the meanwhile we do recommend it to any traveler that wishes to relax in a quiet and friendly atmosphere and visit one of the most beautiful and interesting area of Italy.

"Restful tranquility but close to the action"
07/31/14 wcelliot Frederick, MD
Villa Sorrento was a restful oasis within easy walking distance to both Piano di Sorrento and Meta (nice, non-touristy towns but with nice beaches just short walks away!) and only 4km from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento. And best, a short walk to the train station so Naples, Mount Faito, Herculanium, Pompeii, Vesuvius, and Sorrento are also close and convenient by the local train (for which you can get an unlimited 3 day pass) The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed but the pool/garden area was the shining star. Not only was the pool open extended hours (at many hotels the pool is closing just as you return from a day of playing tourist) it was deep, well-located, and tranquil. Though as comes with the nature of these hilly towns, the walks are sometimes steep, but the breakfast place, a local wine shop (with huge vats of locally produced wine), several shops and restaurants, and even a well-stocked supermarket are on fairly level comfortable walks. But special mention here should go the staff, Helpful and attentive well beyond expectations and the best service that we've experienced in the region. I can't wait to come back again with a less hectic schedule and relax by the pool for a few days!

Generally we agree with the favorable comments made by others except concerning breakfast which is no longer offered on site. We were told quite firmly that our rate did not include breakfast but for an additional fee they have an arrangement with a place about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We did use it and it is fine. However a facility described as a 'Bed & Breakfast' should include breakfast. This may of course be more of an issue with the booking company we used but nowhere in our documents did it state breakfast was extra.
