Grand Miramar Club & Spa - Puerto Vallarta

The location of this hotel is the first disappointing thing you will notice as you drive past the hotels on the beach, past downtown, past Old Town, up, up, up the hills to the dead end road which is, at last, the location of Grand Miramar. The second thing you'll realize is that you are on a need to know basis, if you don't ask, it won't be explained. […] No room service menu, had to ask for soap for the dishwasher, had to ask for vouchers for the free breakfast which took 3 conversations, bring a lot of bottled water with you or you'll spend unnecessary money all week. Only One restaurant on the top floor,great view, good food, extremely slow service, expensive for Mexico. A taxi into town is 60 pesos, take it, eat well. The layout of the hotel is strange, it takes two elevators to get to your room, with stairs between, so get help with your luggage from a bellman. Our first visit to Puerto Vallarta, a 6 day stay at Grand Miramar Club & Spa in Conchas Chinas (Feb 24-March 2 2013). We loved this almost 2,400 square ft 2-bedroom suite with stunning views of the Bay/Ocean from the hill. This huge suite could easily fit 2 couples with children. Included was a full kitchen and washer/dryer for clothes. We were not […] approached for time-share at all during our stay. The hotel was quite empty, we only saw about 4 other couples the entire 6 days, which granted us even more personalized service. The sky restaurant was truly excellent, with amazing views and wonderful food and service. The workout room also has a stunning view. The hot tub and pools were very nice. The massage was good and worth the 600 pesos. The roads to the hotel are steep and winding, making it near impossible to walk to town. A taxi ride to the malecon is 50 or 60 pesos. There is construction slowly going on at the hotel. It wasn't loud, but we could not use the hot tub once. Also disappointing was the internet connection. Ocassionally we could connect, but mostly it was down or weak. Overall, we absolutely loved this hotel and our entire stay in Puerto Vallarta! Read more

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at The Grand Miramar. We were very comfortable, slept well, enjoyed the pool, enjoyed the gym, enjoyed the restaurant and most importantly we enjoyed the amazing views! The staff is very helpful and kind. Building C is the newest addition and is very nice. Building B is mostly Penthouses - with amazing views. The Sky Restaurant is very good, if you can't make it into PV for dinner, you will be well taken care of at Sky. The hotel is on top of the hills in Conchas Chinas they are not beachside, but they make up for […] it with the 4 or 5 pools and jacuzzis. They do have a beach in PV that you have access to and a shuttle that takes you there and picks you up. Conchas Chinas is a residential area made of many beautiful villas that are both lived in and rented out and overlooks Banderas Bay. Read more

I wear earplugs so l found the morning noice only the sounds of the wakeup call! There was construction during the week, but the weekend was pretty good. It was pretty quiet though as we were close to the jungle so occassionally a flock of lorikeets, the summer sounds of cicadas and loud music by the pool to coverup the jack hammering and drillling […] sounds. The pools were very comfortable and clean and the people we met while there were like us needing a break from the real world. The construction sounds were sort of not noticed after awhile because there were no street sounds or aggressive vendors asking us to buy stuff we don't need. Funny how one enjoys themselves so much and the setting of overlooking the ocean and sipping on homemade bevvies. The waiters were non extent so bringing an insulated travelmug would be smart. The layout of the hotel is a little tricky so expect to get a little exercise. Read more

Na aankomst in Puerto Vallarta was het een goed half uur rijden naar de accommodatie. Deze ligt namelijk in het oude deel van Puerto Vallarta, bovenaan een berg. Het is dan ook niet mogelijk om vanuit het hotel naar het strand te lopen. Wel gaat er een pendelbusje en kan er desnoods voor een paar euro een taxi worden genomen. Het appartement is ruim […] compleet met een keuken, zithoek, eettafel en drie slaapkamers met ieder een eigen badkamer. Bij aankomst in het appartement ontvingen we drie literflessen sterke drank en een met fristdrank en bier gevulde koelkast aan. Ook was al het eten en drinken inbegrepen wat werd genutigd in zowel het restaurant in het hotel zelf als beneden aan het strand. Er is geen buffet maar er kan a la carte gegeten en gedronken worden. Vanuit bijna iedere kamer is er een prachtig uitzicht op de zee. Read more
