Once we found the hotel, it was a wonderful experience. So wonderful, that we decided to stay another night. The vilas were the perfect accommodation for our large family. Hotel personnel was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Great price too!!

Luxurious and very spacious self contained 2 bed townhouses with modern appliances (including dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, flatscreen tv's etc.). All the extras with heated bathroom floors, robe and dressing area, upstairs balcony, automatic roller shutters etc. Was so impressed we cancelled other accomodation to stay 4 extra nights. Wired […] internet is ok. Activity room with pool table and playstation would be handy for the kids. BYO tennis rackets for half court on site. No running track as the website claims, its just a path through / around the facility! A car is a MUST. Supermarket is 5km away (if you have a full kitchen, you may as well use it!). A little off the main area, but the accomodation more than makes up for it! Highly recommended. Hire a car from Inter rent and it works out cheaper than transfers! We were very impressed with the quality of the accommodation. It was very modern, clean and beautiful fit out complete with flat screen tvs and electronic shutters and four air con units, remote controlled and not too noisy. The service in the one restaurant on site was extremely poor and food was at best three star standard. Breakfast was very limited […] and boring if you are staying there for a week or more . Staff seemed overworked and unfulfilled. We spent so much money on taxis as the resort is isolated. Need a taxi to get to the beach, supermarket etc. carvoeiro beach is very nice and was ten mins by taxi away so 12 euro for round trip. Definitely not a place to go if single or a couple without kids as it seems to attract lots of young families even though it has only one small pool beside the bar area. Read more

The suite was extremely spacious and comfortable, with everything one needed supplied. Our only criticism was the thin mattress on the generously sized bed and the substanded pillows; definitely not 5 star products. This said, we are already looking for a return trip in September.

The spa and indoor pool area was rather small and unattractive given the size of the complex. Travellers should be aware that the complex is quite a long way from the beach and amenities. A car is is a must.

My three-star rating may give the impression that I think this hotel is poor, but that's not so. It has many good points, notably its staff and accommodation. But I have a couple of complaints. First, it's not a hotel. It's more like a housing estate, with 85 luxury houses in gardens around an area with reception, bar, restaurant, and pools, so you […] could face a 20-minute walk if you want to eat, drink, or swim. But you might not need that. The houses are fully equipped. Our villa had a living/dining area 12 m long, with a six-seater dining table and chairs, plus two huge bed-settees. The kitchen was superbly finished in black marble with cooker, washer, fridge, and dishwasher. Upstairs, the main bedroom had a double bed, a walk-in wardrobe, and an en-suite bathroom with tub, shower, and even bathroom scales. There is a second bedroom with two beds, so that each dwelling is a luxurious house where you can live in self-catering comfort. But there's another problem: the hotel is a long way from anywhere, too. It is not ‘close to Carvoeiro Beach’ – unless you think 5 km is ‘close’. So you need a car, because taxis are costly, especially at weekends, and there is nothing of interest within walking distance. That said, you don’t need to go outside. There are many facilities, including a covered, heated pool, and the restaurant is good and fairly inexpensive. The Algarve gets a lot of winter sunshine, and I always managed to find a sheltered spot to sit in the sun and read. Read more

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Vale da Lapa. Super villas and only a few minutes from Carvoeiro and ten minutes to Silves, very high spec accommodation, modern and very comfortable, everything you need. As much as it is on a complex you have your own privacy but with the added benefit of breakfast, hotel style. I like the garden view best. My […] only grumbles would be that the pool does not open until 10am which if you wanted a swim before breakfast you cant (breakfast is served until 10am) this would then free the rest of the day up. Also when the hotel first opened we had wifi in the villa, but now it is only available in the reception area by typing in a code. This should really be standard in a 5 star resort. We are regular visitors to the Algarve and have stayed at various hotels and villas in a 10 klm radius of the hotel. Our stay did not disappoint and was really enjoyable although we should have taken more advantage of the facilitites. The young lady in the restaurant was especially helpful. My only criticism was that the town was further away than the […] 1.1 shown on the literature but we had a very pleasant although rather long walk which did not detract from our overall stay. We had a great time in Agua Vale da Lapa hotel. The apartmets are huge great kitchen siting are and 2 rooms. Good place for family. The minus is that we went in october and the water in swiming pool was bit cold, there are only 2 adult swiming pool and one kidsone for about 100 appartments and breakfast bit pricey (was told is 15 euro pp).

Had a wonderful three nights stay. The apartments are more like an attached villa. Very spacious, very well designed . Breakfast was an added bonus. Exceeded my expectations. The only criticism is that the bed was a little hard for a 5 star apartment. I would still recommend a stay at these properties. Thanks

This was our second stay at Vale de Lapa and the place seems to have maintained the high standards we found after its opening in 2010. There is no sign of any dilapidation in the fabric of the resort, the gardens are becoming more established, and the staff were as friendly as before. I would be as happy to recommend a stay here to a couple - old or […] young - as to those with young children. La verdad es que nos gustó muchísimo, teníamos dos reservas porque mis hijas son ya mayores y nos dieron dos villas. Son muy espaciosas, con bonita decoración y todo bastante cuidado, el complejo es muy bonito. La zona spa podria mejorarse.

Las villas son una autentica maravilla, las cocinas son de ensueño (lavadora-secadora frigorifico 2 puertas,isla central, etc..), cuatro baños, salón fantastico y piscina particular. Lo malo es que la zona es tan bonita que paramos poco para disfrutar de ella. Repetiremos seguro.

mooie suites echt ruim van opzet. Ontbijt vond ik erg beperkt geen ***** buffet broodjes waren niet goed doorgebakken. Kamers zijn perfect mooi ruim je kan er prima verblijven. Zwemwater buitenbad vond ik te koud !

Das Hotel, der Service und auch die Umgebung waren super. Der Bungalow ist eine kleine Wohnung mit allem Komfort auf 2 Stockwerken. Sehr viel Platz.Auch die Anlage ist sehr schön. Carvoeiro ist ein besonders hübscher Ort mit vielen guten Essmöglichkeiten, vom Hotel leider nicht zu Fuss erreichbar.

Servicen var helt topp. Alt ned til den minste detalj virket gjennomtenkt. Alle på hotellet gjorde sitt til at du som gjest følte at ble godt ivaretatt. Ønsker å bruke hotellet på et senere tidspunkt. Området var til tross for fullt belegg preget av en herlig ro. Dette er et sted å anbefale.

Neues, noch etwas steriles Hotels mit sehr gut ausgestatteten Zimmern. Modern und sehr großzügig. poolbereich und Außenanlage o.k., Restaurant, Bar und Spa noch verbesserungsfähig. Service, Restaurant-Qualität und Organisation z.Teil noch sehr unerfahren, hier leider keine 5 Sterne!!

Die Anlage wurde Ostern 2010 eröffnet und besteht aus den für Portugal typischen Appartements mit einem oder zwei Schlafzimmern. Die Küche ist für Selbstversorger gut ausgestattet. Der Wohnbereich in den Villen ist im EG, das Schlafzimmer erreicht man über eine Treppe. Sollte die Anlage gut gebucht sein, sind sowohl Pool als auch Restaurant ziemlich […] unterdimensionert . Während unseres Aufenthaltes war die Anlage ca. 30% gebucht und beim an sich recht guten Frühstück wurde es schon eng. Nicht besonders angetan waren wir über den Zustand des Zimmers beim Einzug (Speisereste in der Spülmaschine, reichlich Haare der Vorgänger noch in den Räumen verteilt) - nicht gut genug für eine angebliche 5* Anlage. Die Lage des Hotels in Sesmarias ist nur erträglich, wenn man einen Mietwagen hat. Read more
