Area is alive at night, but Fort Cochin should provide better touring services. It is a bit tacky when I ask for an airport taxi and the hotel provides two envelops one with some money to the taxi and another value receipt to me. All this for 150 INR ($3) be serious guys. I knew the numbers i advance and decided to let them enjoy the $3. The Sea Food buffet was awesome.

Owner was helpful and allowed us to use internet. Lots of mosquitoes in the dinning room. Did not tell us about bed tea availability on first morning and called us second morning. Note Bed tea is available and included in the room charge. Breakfast is included too. Overall good and convenient location.

The people at the Taj was awesome. food was good but a bit pricy. The location is a bit far from airport about an hour' drive. But it was worth it. The bar was ecxcellent and so was the spa.

"Ilona Lake Resort - perfect for a quiet getaway"
This is a small-ish resort in a secluded location bordering on a picturesque lake. You can watch fishermen at work and houseboats go past from the pool area. The resort is perfect for a romantic break or quiet family holiday. The grounds are beautifully maintained. Boat trips are available directly from the resort. We stayed in a "Lakeside Stream Villa" […] which was clean and had all mod cons and a great view of the lake. The food and service were good, but the resort did not have a full alcohol license as at early January 2012 and served only beer at the time. The breakfast buffet was excellent. A mosque and temple are nearby; both can be heard at times but neither are overly intrusive. Overall, we were happy with our stay. Read more

...could the hotel do much better! The hotel grounds (especially the pool area) could be much nicer if the hotel management would take more attention on the details (e.g.: only a couple of sun-bed's and one sunshade. "Hotel Ilona, repos et calme"
C'est un merveilleux lieu pour se reposer après l'agitation des villes indiennes. Le confort et la nourriture sont parfaits. Seul bémol, le service est impersonnel. Pour le Kérala, c'est assez étonnant. C'est comme si il n'y avait pas de vie dans cet hôtel et les services annoncés sur le web ne sont pas réellement présents, pas de spa, pas de boutique […] ni de café ouverts. Juste parfait pour faire rien et profiter de la piscine merveilleuse. De plus, il n'y a rien à faire aux allentours. Read more
