The Brugmann Garden provided an excellent change of pace to our hectic travel schedule. The house was lovely and our room was very comfortable for the four of us. The atmosphere wasquietly elegant and relaxed. Great breakfast.

Located in Brussels (Brussels City Centre - Grand Place), Brussels Welcome Hotel is close to St. Catherine's Square, La Grande Place, and Center for the Belgian Comic Strip. Also nearby are Manneken Pis Statue and Cathedral of St. Michael.

We decided to try this hotel based on the reviews on hotels.com. What a great place! There are different location-based themed rooms. The staff at... reception was very friendly and helpful. The location could not be better for exploring the Grote Markt (Grand Place) with exceptional shopping and dining opportunities. Mannekikn-Pis and Grote Markt are about a 5-10 minute walk away. If coming to Brussels for tourism, you cannot beat the location. We stayed in the Thailand room and it was beautiful. With free breakfast and internet, a better value cannot be found. The rooms are great. Very unique, fun and comfortable. The location is ideal- a short, pleasant walk from the main tourist center (Grand Place, Mannekin Pis, etc.), but separated enough and on its own gorgeous, historic square with lots of good restaurants and bars. Pretty decent breakfast. Service was a bit odd, though. The main lady at the front desk […] was pleasant enough, but nary a smile to be seen among the other reception staff. Also, they strongly recommend that you take a cab to the hotel, but never mention that there is a metro stop not 50 yards from their front door. Finally, it is not made readily apparent ahead of time that you are not allowed to eat in your room. Read that again: they don't allow you to bring food into your room to eat. They offer a small breakfast area, but that is hardly sufficient. I get it, I suppose, but it still compromises the comfort of the stay. I would recommend this hotel for its novelty value and location, but we will seek another hotel if we make it back to Brussels. Read more

Although the hotel was centrally located, close to Metro, seafood restaurants, within walking distance to the city centre,it was disappointing. The rooms are themed, which is cute, however very small. There was some extra bedding on the closet floor, so no place to put our suitcases. The closet could maybe handle three items of clothing. There was no […] area to unpack, so lived out of the suitcases for our two nights. No plug in the sink.no place to sit except on the bed. Thought it was seriously overpriced. Before we even got into the hotel we were greeted with an overflowing ashtray in the door way. Staff and guests may not have smoked inside the hotel, but did not move too far outside. This is the kind of hotel that makes travelling such a pleasure. The friendly owners and staff really buy into the idea of your stay being an adventure: from the moment you show your passport at the desk, it's as if you're flying off to another exotic destination. Ours was Marrakesh on the third floor - vibrant (but not overpowering) colours, atmospheric […] antiques, spacious white-tiled bathroom. And if you take the lift you'll miss out on all the quirky travel-based artefacts that dot the stairs and landings. Breakfast was very good and available until 10.30am, tea and coffee free all day, and the advice about where to eat was spot-on for both local bistros we ended up in. You're also given a key for the night door, at the side of the hotel, if you stay out later than 10.30-11pm. Which, if you have any sense of adventure, you will. We had a wonderful stay at this little hotel. We Loved the themed rooms. The owner has put a lot of love into the place. It's right next to the underground station, so no problems getting around. They booked us a private babysitter for under €10/hour, allowing us to try one of the really good restaurants in the area. If you like you rooms uniform and your hotels standardised this is not the place for you. This hotel has the perfect blend of service and character, it is quirky without letting standards slip. The unique feature is that each room is furnished and decorated as a different country or theme, eg marocco, cuba, Egypt. Not just a flag or a picture but […] a transformation, with furnishings, decor, artifacts even structural changes. Even the en suites keep the theme. They really have to be seen to be believed. But the real magic is the understated nature of the rest of the hotel and how it is an efficient and comfortable hotel, not a themed hotel. Reception staff are friendly and one marked out a map with a perfect walk, taking in things that we had told we wanted to see. Breakfast is excellent, but be warned, it diminishes as the morning goes on so if you leave it late some of the hot food may be finished. Like I would imagine many before us, we will return to this hotel, but will book early enough to try and stay in an alternative room in order to enjoy it's theme. This is a very capable hotel in a good location with just a little extra magic to make your stay more memorable. Very highly recommended. Read more

Got the istanbul room with many glass decorations hanging down from the ceiling. Free wifi with many spots to connect to, however, the spots near our room was not functioning. It was said that they had been working on the problem for a week (my stay was 28-29/3-2013). Leuke buurt, vlak bij het centrum met veel goede restaurants. Wij hadden de suite die heel smaakvol was aangekleed met originele oriëntaalse meubels en details. Vriendelijk personeel. Aanrader.

Un hotel diferente en plena Plaza de Santa Catalina con un servicio exelente. Las habitaciones decoradas de acuerdo con un país (o isla) diferente. Un excelente servicio. Una exelente ubicación. Pero un poco caro para ser una hotel de 3 estrellas un poco antiguo.

We enjoyed this hotel. We stayed in the "Bali" room, which includes a big spa bathtub and a little balcony overlooking the city. The metro stops right in front of the door, and the hotel is also convenient to Brussels' fashion district. Recommended!
