The Quality Inn on the south side of Louisville had mixed reviews when I chose it, but I needed a basic hotel for two nights stay because of a family situation in that area. Overall, the hotel was better than I expected for the price I paid. The breakfast was minimal- but the room had a bonus of a frig. and the hotel was well maintained. Will definitely plan to stay there on a future trip.

Satisfactory. I was a little upset that I told the ofice about a chicken carcas that someone threw on the sidewalk near our room, but nobody removed it.

Old Bardstown Inn does mean OLD Bardstown Inn. Beds are uncomfortable with no real blankets - just a coverlet and sheet. Our room was smelly with torn up walls in the bathroom. Looked like someone had locked a pit bull up in there. Pet policy is misrepresented on hotel search sites. They do not accept pets except in one room which we got (we chose them […] because they were supposed to be pet friendly). Owner even balked at that even though we have a 5 lb Chihuahua and not a 200 lb pit bull like the one that clearly stayed there before us. Husband and I and 2 dogs traveled from Nebraska to Kentucky to taste Bourbon. The hotel website advertised Pet Friendly. I called the day before to confirm that, and was told they had changed their policy. I stated that I booked it only because of that and they needed to honor it which they did for an additional fee per dog. OK well the hotel is old […] and not at all updated. This hotel is more of an old motor lodge. Lots of character. It was clean, the staff was nice. The rooms were fine, but the bed was HARD and old. The pillows were flat. The TV was old but fine. The people who lived there and ran the motel were friendly enough, but had no place for their sweet young children to play but by our rooms. We had a no-smoking room, but the owners (workers) took smoking breaks FREQUENTLY always outside our rooms . I go barefoot in my room and my feet were black from carpet needing cleaned. The hotel is perfectly fine. But they roll up the sidewalks pretty early in Bardstown. If you want to eat in a restaurant other than fast food or chain, plan on arriving in Bardstown in time to check in to the hotel, get yourself ready to go out, and then drive to a restaurant before 6:30 - 7 pm. Also, do your restaurant research ahead of time. The […] hotel staff I encountered was friendly, courteous, gracious, etc. But they weren't up on the local restaurants and their hours of operation. (A stack of menus from local establishments would be a useful addition to their lobby.) Another reason to arrive well before sunset. Getting to Bardstown from the interstate is an adventure in miles of unlit, winding two-lane roads which either have too few markers to reassure you along the way or too many to digest at 50 mph. The hotel was centrally located. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean for the age of the hotel. The price was very reasonable. I had to go to the store and by a cleaner with bleach in it to clean the microwave which hadn't been cleaned. The bathtub I had to let soak in bleach, it was so dirty I was afraid to get into it.
