We were given a Large Spacious Apartment Which was very good Value For Price. Everything in Apartment Functioned Well Plus Lighting was good, which we had found Poor in Some apartments. "Lovely place to stay"
Great area, close to sea. Fab pool but cannot comment on any other facilities as they were all shut although this was not mentioned when we booked. Apartment was more than we expected with all facilities including a washing machine which was great. Roof terrace, garden, patio; it has all you need and very clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel. Not that far from the beach."
Nice clean hotel and good value for money. Not very big choice in the restaurant, but that was the end of the season so understandable. The receptionists were not very happy if you wanted any help. Well maybe they were basically tired.....Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great, quiet place"
I really enjoyed my stay and it was exactly was I was looking for... A quiet place with sea views, near some nice beaches. You do need a car as close to some places but not others, but we went to a different beach everyday so having a stress free place to come back to was great.Genuine Expedia guest review

i say home because our two story ,two bedroomed apartment had its own little garden wtrh a 3 foot hedge which gave you a feeling of privacy .you also had the opition of using rhe rooftop to catch the Sun. the swimming pool which had a small cafe right beside it was only a stones throw from our pad..The lady who ran the Cafe was very ,very pleasant to […] speak with and to deal with. about 3 mihs walk from here brought you ro rhe main reception area whish had free wi-fi .a mini shop had all rhe basics with a bar/ resturant on the second floor, a guy named Tony ran rhe place and he could speak fluent english...there was a pool table in the bar and a big T.V witch mostly played MTV but it was hooked up to some sky sports channels so any big games could be watched..there was another pool near rhe reseption area. a rental car is a must to visit the algarve beachs and towns that are dotted along the coast. Just returned from a fantastic stay at Quinta das Figueirinhas - really spacious apartment, clean and well equipped. Lovely feeling about the place - very quiet and relaxed which was just what we were looking for. Not a all crowded - only a few English holiday makers, majority Portuguese families. Restaurant / snack food very good, not overly expensive. […] Bar lacked a little atmosphere but that didn't deter us from using it every day! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

stayed here for ten days in Aug with husband and two children aged 7 and 8. apartment spacious and clean. arrived before room ready but had packed swim stuff and so used pool while we waited. kitchen clean and tidy with two ring hob, fridge and microwave. pool area great. never stayed anywhere where sun beds stayed unreserved all morning. each room […] has own parasol so no scramble for anything. resort is very Portuguese and lots of families who are regulars. lovely atmosphere. would consider hiring car if went again- courtesy bus stops at 6pm and taxi to nearest town is 5 euro each way. alburfiera is 22 euro in taxi and cavoiero is 18 euro. "We would stay here again."
Quinta das Figueirinhas & Quintinha Village is a small residential estate of apartments with a shop, reception, restaurant and bar in the centre. The positioning of the apartments at Quinta das Figueirinhas (where we stayed) meant that each apartment was very private. We found the large pool at Quinta das Figueirinhas to be very crowded and very cold! […] Also the depth was erratic. The pool at Quintinha Village, just across the road was smaller, warmer and less crowded, and generally much nicer. There was also a pool bar here, which was lacking at the larger pool. The toilets and showers were spotlessly clean. In the apartment there were two sunbed mattresses and a parasol which we took to the pool each day - perfect! Apartment was also spotless and the maid came every day though at odd times so it was not always convenient for her to come in. Toilet rolls and bin bags were supplied every day. The shop stocks all the basics - more expensively than the supermarkets. The fresh bread arrives at 8.30 am and is usually all sold out by 9.30am. We had the BBQ meal which cost 16 euros. The food was good, varied and plentiful but the service was slow and unpredictable! The decor/furniture in the bar reminded me of a youth club and it lacked ambiance. The bar/restaurant staff were very friendly, helpful, and warm, though overworked. The minbus to town was very useful. One day we couldn't all fit in so the driver came back for us - so helpful. Used Yellowfish for transfer - superb service. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Very clean, plenty of sunbeds nice gardens, spacious rooms, decent food in the restaurant, in fact delivers everything it promises. Would appear to be better suited to families and the beach is a little to far for my liking uphill all the way back but you cannot blame the complex for thatGenuine Expedia guest review

It was my first time in Portugal and we - my partner and I, had a blast! We live in London and really needed a break from the cold and crazyness of the big city. We were looking for hotels in Algarve region, and our main request was a quiet place with paradisic beaches. Checking on expedia staying at Quinta das Figueirinhas would offer that all to us!!! […] It is Iocated 800 metres from the local beach - Senhora da Rocha and other 5 to 10 km from the most amazing Paradisic beaches of the Algarve, its about 30km from Lagos, Portimao and about 40 km from Faro.. The apartment at Quinta das Figueirinhas is spacious and comes with all kitchen appliences, the intermarche supermarket is 500 meters away and by there you find a petrol station! Handy, quite, great price!!!! The highlight of my stay was my partners bday! We had an amazing steak at the Belmonto Italian restaurant and the receptionists of Quinta das Figueirinhas went out of their ways to get me a chocolate cake - with a 32 candle to surprise my partner after dinner!!!! I wouldn't imagine myself there with no car, would be a bit more difficult even though the hotel apparently offer this kind of services! I would like to thank you Quinta das Figueirinhas team recepcion for the amazing service most of all! I will be back for sure! I am already missing a cold beer by the pool watching the beatiful sunset you guys have there!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"OK housekeeping space"
We stayed in April, which is definitely a quiet time here - only 3 or 4 other units were in use. Despite this, all guests were put in a small cluster in one of the 5 or 6 8-unit buildings, and there is a LOT of noise transmitted through the walls and floor. A large space, very nice balcony with views of the ocean, within walking distance of the ocean […] (about 800 metres). On the outskirts of the developed area, rather difficult to find the first time. Excellent WiFi, reasonable kitchen supplies, although kitchen is very small. Beds were quite reasonable, not too soft. Very good exterior window blinds. Iron, ironing board, drying rack with pegs. A couple of restaurants within walking distance (at the shoreline). Overall, OK but the noise might be a bit much during the busy season. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean complex, bags of space, perfect for families"
We stayed in the Quintinha Village side of the complex, which were the 2 bedroom housed. We found them extremely well equipped, clean and tidy. We have a communal back garden, and a private front garden. We were supplied with table and four chairs, two loungers, pads and an umbrella which was brilliant. We had asked for a cot for our young son, but […] unfortunately this was not there on arrival (we arrived at 9pm). We were not able to get one put in until the following morning, so had to pull a mattress from the spare bed onto the floor in our room and bolster with cushions. We have requested one at the time of booking, so something went wrong with communication there. The complex had a great pool for us and the kids, and there was a restaurant, bar and shop at the Figuierinhas end. The beach was beautiful, and a 10 minute walk away. There was a complimentary minibus service which took you into town 5 times a day, which was a really great touch. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday, and will be sure to return.
"Two week family/friends stay"
01/10/14 Mark C Edinburgh, United Kingdom
I stayed for two weeks here with family at the beginning of October 2013. It is a very quiet resort so perfect as a base or for a relaxing family holiday. Unless you want to lie by the pool all day then a car is quite essential to go anywhere meaningful, there is a free minibus service from the resort to armacao de pera where there is a bigger beach, shops & restaurants. Having previously stayed in the Algarve we wanted to visit our favourite places so had the car. Pros Lovely clean apartment, very friendly & helpful staff (especially Tony at the bar), very quiet area, decent food at the bar/restaurant upstairs, free wifi(reception/bar area only), beaches nearby to walk to(5-10 mins), great supermarket nearby, good little kitchen in apartment with twin hob, microwave, kettle, toaster & coffee maker, nice sized swimming pool with plenty loungers, free parking. Cons No oven in apartment, pool very cold & salty, mini freezer within fridge not the best (ice creams a bit soft) Overall very good apartments & if I was planning on going back to the Algarve for a quiet relaxing holiday then I would definatly book here.

Stayed a weekend by the end of August with wife and son. We got a 1 bedroom apartment which was basic but still very comfy and large enough. The resort is 15 minutes walking to the near beach but we had car so we went to Praia Grande between Armação de Pera and Salgados. This one is larger, less crowded even in August and 5-7 minutes driving from the resort. We only used the room to sleep so didn't go to restaurant or the pool. The resort is very nice with free parking, well kept gardens, cleaned apartments, large room suitable for 2 children, small kitchen with fridge, microwave, stove and cutlery to have basic meals. We also got a fantastic sea view and from the balcony. WC is basic but enough for bath. The amenities provided are toilet paper and a soap. The place is very quiet and we had a good sleep. Some good restaurants in the area. The only minus was the climatization. The bedroom has AC but the main room only has a fan which is not enough for the hottest days ... Overall: very good price (end of august ...) for the value.

Stayed at these apartments from the 18th to the 28th of September and could not fault a thing . The rooms are of a really good size and the kitchen well equipped . The apartment was cleaned on a regular basis , one small problem with ants one morning but a can of spray off the cleaner and it was quickly solved . The ground floor rooms have their own sun loungers and parasols and a nice big patio with table and chairs , lovely to sit in the sun with your coffee in the morning ! The pool area was very pleasant and never once did we have to go looking for a spare sunbed as there were plenty around , and your room . Nice staff in the bar and restaurant . We ate there several times , the steaks are fab .There are other restaurants in the area costing on average 12-50 euros for three courses but after eating at the complex we discovered there was no need to have three dishes as the portions were more than generous , one main course was more than enough . A little bit out of the way but loved the peace and quiet . The free shuttle bus into town is a good service , took advantage several times . All in all a lovely holiday all round ..... would I return here ? ..... YES most definatley

Welcome to Quinta das Figueirinhas We have put you in apartment m20. I know that you booked a Double room. So we have provided you with a twin room and you can simply move the two beds together. The pillows provided are made from hollow fibre and are lumpy and uncomfortable. Your apartment is located next to the bar upstairs. This will help to keep you awake at nights, especially, on Tuesdays were we have a karaoke until 2am. Just to inconvenience you further, we have put a screaming baster child in the room next door. He will start screaming at 3am every morning just as the noise from the bar has finished. The swimming pool is located round the corner from you apartment. Enjoy a refreshing swim in our, salty, freezing cold unheated pool, were the chemicals that we put in it will sting your eyes. I am quite sure you will find the experience bracing and refreshing. In the small kitchen in your apartment. We have provided you with a coffee maker so that you can relax with a delicious cup of coffee. You just have to nip into our small shop and purchase coffee filters and ground coffee beans at our inflated prices. While you are enjoying your coffee switch on the T.V and enjoy three English channels of television to choose from. One is a Music channel, BBC 2 and BBC 3. The rest of the channels are in Portuguese just in case you wish to brush up on the local lingo. If you want to visit the local town. Armeco De Pera is only 4km away. We will provide a free bus to whisk you away. The bus runs from 9.30am until 17.55pm. Do not worry if you want to stay out late, a taxi will cost only 5 Euros. The taxi rank is on the same street as The Holiday Inn, just keep walking out of town and you can not miss it. Breakfast is served between 8.30am till 10.00am.Every morning, Breakfast will consist of ham and cheese with a selection of fresh fruit and rolls. We usually put out a gateaux, in case you feel like eating cake first thing in the morning, and if we can be bothered we will change the coffee and provide fresh croissants. We also provide you with stale cornflakes that we never change from the dispenser, yum ! If you wish a cooked breakfast we can provide this for you at a supplementary charge of 7 euros. We hope that you enjoyed your stay with us and remember when you buy a burger please do not expect a steak. Last piece of advice. Never ever under any circumstances let your girlfriend book your holiday, you have been warned !!!!

stayed from 22 September for 10 days with our 8 and 11 year olds. apartment was lovely and spacious and clean, equipped with all you need and hard working ladies kept place mopped and tidied and always plenty of towels .Friendly reception and bar staff, the hotel restaurant served some lovely food , so underrated, we like good food and it was top quality, and good generous portions(especially the wine).Beach just 10 min walk down road is the best of all the local beaches we would say, with the little white church at the end of the cliff, so pretty. The hotel pool is lovely but freezing!! so just jump in quick and not LOWER IN GRADUALY which only prolongs the torcher! but once your in its lovely. we had pool to ourselves both morning and late afternoon as unfortunately the weather turned from day 4, overcast or drizzle, but still so warm outside. I think maybe some guests couldn't hack being away unless scorchio, but we just enjoyed beautiful pool and beaches, lovely cliff walks and warm weather, wine and food and very happy kids in water most of the day!.ONLY A COUPLE OF BAD FEEDBACK, getting about sightseeing is a dead loss unless you hire a car or pay to go on these really expensive excursions, even if you just want to visit say PORTAMAO or ALBEFUIRA, you need to go down to main bus stop in town NOT local bus(itl just drive straight past you!) or other sights like SILVES, we would have loved to visit but NO CAR. so just to warn you to plan for those things. And beware of karioke night on a Tuesday at hotel! can get quite loud until very late , luckily its just one night. I am only moaning though because we had to be up early in morn for flight and have kids.I WOULD ADVISE NOT TO VISIT ALGARVE AFTER MID SEPTEMBER as we got the tail end of season and all things winding down ,plus weather turning .will definately go again tho in summer season . local drivers do enjoy their SPEED so wount be hiring a car though!
"Lovely stay !!"

Stayed at these apartments from the 17th to the 24th of September, on checking in we were allocated room 16 on the bottom floor . I was really impressed by the feel of the apartments and the nice gardens around . Our apartment consisted of a bedroom with 2 single beds, large lounge/ living room with table and chairs for 4 people and sofa and arm chair. They had a tv in the room also which showed bbc 1, cebeebies and sky news. The kitchen was very well equipped with oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, fridge, all lots of utensils and pots, pans and plates ect. Outside the back of our apartment through sliding doors we had a lovely quiet terrace with table, chairs and the back garden with 2 sun loungers and a umbrella, it was so peaceful out there ! The hotel mini market is awful ! Everything is so old and mostly empty, only use in desperation ! The intermarche was about a 10 minute walk and stocks everything ( don't miss the secret room on the right with all the water, beer ect , we were walking around for half hr looking for water not seeing this room ) the quickest way to get there is to walk through the quinitha village ! On Thursday nights they do a BBQ which is 16 € each and includes live music and all you can drink sangria ! This was a lovely night, the food was delicious and the musician was really good ! The pool area was lovely, large swimming pool with so much space around, never a fight for sun beds, there was also a playground by the pool for kidstge hotel offer a shuttle bus to take you into the town but this ends at 5.45pm which is very early, we used this a few times during the day but in evening got taxi which was around 5€ . The town itself is very quiet with some restaurants along the seafront, as you walk past these you get to the old town which is charming but again mostly just restaurants and touristy shops. We mostly went to the beach nearest the hotel about 10 minutes walk near the lords bar and it was beautiful !!! You walk past cliffs and down some stair that are in between two cliffs ! Would recommend this one, although there are no sun beds, toilets ect. The next beach along which was just left of this beach had sun beds ect but was a lot busier ! We visited the fiesa, which was really good ! Only takes maximum of 1 hour to walk around and was 10 mins from hotel so best to get a taxi , we got transport included from reception desk and they picked picked us up at 5.20pm and we got there by 5.30pm and we're finished by 6.15pm and we're not getting picked up again until 8pm, I'm sure they arranged it so we had to spend more money there having a drink ! Overall I loved my holiday and these apartments ! Perfect for a relaxing week away ! If I was there longer than a week I would definitely hire a car. Can't wait to visit again !

Went with a friend for a chill out week. Apartment on 2nd floor was excellent, clean and quiet. Had all we could require - microwave, good cooker with oven, toaster, iron and board. Slight problem with ants but they dealt with it by spraying in kitchen and bathroom (think it was just the time of year). Clean towels supplied once, the same with the bed linen, and new toilet roll supplied daily. Cleaned daily except for Sunday. Very basic shop on site but excellent supermarket close by. Beach walkable to with lovely café. Pool area clean with ample sunbeds. We were there in September so very quiet especially at night. Did not use restaurant or bar it looked very basic with plastic chairs and no atmosphere which was a shame. Surrounding gardens with sun loungers for the ground floor apartments were nice. Nice restaurants in area at reasonable prices. Would probably stay again if I went back to that area for a quiet week with sunshine and a short haul flight, everything was within walking distance. Normally go long haul and for 3/4 weeks.
"Good clean friendly apartments"
My wife and I have just returned from a week in these apartments. After a few years of all inclusive hotels we thought we would give self catering another go. The complex is quiet in late August and early September. We had a maid service every day apart from Sunday. There is a shop but only for the very basics, there is a supermarket about half a mile away which is very good a great value The on-site restaurant we only tried once, for the barbecue on Thursday night with live music. It was an enjoyable experience with great food (the lamb was especially good) and sangria flowed all night. All this for a very reasonable 32 Euros for the two of us. There was a minor problem with very small ants in the apartments but these seemed to be kept under control through the maid mopping the floor. I think we will go back to hotels as we missed things like the pool bar and the convenience of food being prepared for you, however I would very much recommend this venue if you are looking for a quiet romantic getaway or a family holiday. Travel around the area is cheap by taxi and as I said everyone is friendly and seem pleased to speak in English. One last thing I thought was strange was that our one bed apartment only had twin single beds, which is a bit of a passion killer (if you let it)
"Average to say the least!!!"

Just returned from a ten day stay at the Quinta das Figeirinhas with my husband, 15 year old daughter and 12 year old son. Upon arrival was a little shocked at the drab doctor's surgery style reception area, but staff were very accomodating and cheerful. Having read previous reviews I was expecting a basic apartment and that was exactly what I got but grubby too - could really do with a good clean - insect squashed all over the walls and ceilings. The room felt very dirty and was infested with ants (spoke to reception and they explained it was the time of year and the cleaner would sort) but day after day they returned and we had to keep our food locked away - one evening my son left a glass out that had contained apple juice and returning at the end of the evening must have had about 100 of them crawling on it - disgusting! Cleaners came in every day but did not sweep the floor once, towels were changed three times but hard to tell if they were new as some were quite stained. Had to ask for new toilet roll every day and felt like it was being rationed!!! The onsite shop is less than basic and wasn't open half the time and had to get staff from the bar to open it. Larger sipermarket 15 minutes walk away. The bar was horrendous and was more like a youth club that housed a pool table and had chairs around the edge, had one drink there on the first night but didn't go back. The pool area was the best thing about the complex and no hogging of sunloungers at 6am but at around 5pm each day seemed to become a gathering point for the Portegese teenage guests who plugged in their music and played very loudly for an hour or two!!! Very noisy late at night and was disturbed by kids running aroung screaming and shouting until 1am!!! Shuttle bus to town runs throughout the day and taxi to the centre is approx 6 euros. Local beach is lovely and takes ten minutes to walk down and has a great cafe but the walk back is uphill - I would highly recommend hiring a car as it is very isolated and not much onsite to keep you entertained and asking for a second floor apartment to avoid the ants. Really sorry but will not be returning and think the three stars I have given to bee overly generous.
"Great value-for-money apartment"
07/21/13 r00frack Leigh, United Kingdom
My wife and I (mature adults, children now grown up) spent a 10-day holiday here at the start of June 2013. We'd been before to this very same area - but about 28 years ago when our oldest daughter was then a toddler, the area wasn't at all built up, and Vila Senhora da Rocha was about the only major set of apartments in the area. The area still isn't commercialised at all, and you have to realise that it is very much on the outskirts of Armacao. If you want a quiet holiday, however, it's just fine. We knew we hadn't paid a fortune but the apartment was spacious, modern, cool and clean, and just as advertised. We had asked for a first floor apartment and we got that wish granted, probably because it really wasn't busy at all (not because of the quality of the apartments, but because of the time of year and the state of the economy). Furthermore, we were lucky to get one of ther blocks that looked down towards the sea, so that was a big bonus. The only thing to realise - which we knew- is that there isn't an oven, but only a microwave and electric hob, so it wasn't possible to have something like a pizza in the evening. However, we ate out most evenings, especially with a 12.50 EURO tourist menu available (including a glass of wine !). I'm not sure quite why some of the reviewers complain about cleanliness and change of towels. We never had a problem - in fact, on a couple of days, we told the chambermaid that we would re-use towels to save washing, and didn't the floors cleaning because we hadn't been to the beach. Nevertheless, she made sure we had toilet rolls, refuse bag, etc., and still returned a day or two later with towels. The service was fine. We didn't arrive until 9pm, so ate at the apartments' own restaurant, run by Tony, rather than wandering around. We were the only ones there, sadly, and Tony explained that business was not good. I don't believe that was down to the standard of the food, although the bill was more than if we'd eaten outside the complex. All I would say is that the restaurant/bar area could probably do with quite a bit more "atmosphere". For once, we didn't hire a car. Was it a problem ? Well, we decided not to travel around in any case, just using the apartment shuttle bus to go to and from Armacao when we fancied. There is a bus service which runs from Armacao (about 10 minutes' drive away) to places west and east along the Algarve, but the frequency is not great so you need to plan if you want to go further afield by bus - or hire a car. In terms of shopping, there is a big Intermarche about 15 minutes' walk away which has long opening hours. The complex itself has a small shop but with very limited range. We preferred Senhora da Rocha beaches to the swimming pool, but the pool is large and clean, albeit pretty cold (depending on how brave you are !). All in all, we had a great holiday at a good price, and Quinta das Figueirinhas played its part in that. Would we go back ? Probably not. We liked everything, and were pleased to revisit after all those years, but fancy trying somewhere else next time.
