This is a guest house, not a hotel
My stay was fine but I really only slept there - the room was small, very small with no leeway for moving around. The bathroom was nice and clean, but again, very small and with no amenities (except a very tiny bar of soap; no shampoo or lotion). The breakfast I can't judge as I had porridge but they do offer eggs, bacon, etc. This is not a hotel. There is no reception, no staff (the owners live and work there) and no cab driver knew about it. More like a simple B&B made in an old house with several rooms. The location was good for my purposes.

We found the owner very responsive to our needs and an overall, terrific place to be in town for 10 days, mixing business with pleasure. It's centrally located and we could walk to almost anywhere we wanted to be or go.

Good but not great
I spent two nights here and overall my stay was quite great. However, there were a few things that kept this hotel from being great. First, I was initially housed in a "deluxe room" but the second day I was moved to a small room downstairs that was a little cramped. Overall this was not an issue, however, it was strange that the hotel owner tried to get me to upgrade my stay and pay quite a bit more each night to do so. This felt kind of like a bait and switch sort of scenario. The Deluxe room was very nice and quite large. The second room was pretty cramped but fine. The real issue with the second room was inconsistent water temperature in the shower. The water constantly oscillated between being scalding hot and freezing cold. Overall my experience was pretty good. The hotel owner was very helpful despite a few awkward situations. Breakfast was good. However, the shower and strange room move situation just kept this stay from being great.

Rugby weekend
Our stay was for the France vs Scotland rugby at Murrayfield - great match so that really sums up our view of the weekend. Our room was ok - TV didn't work but we weren't interested in watching TV - the breakfast was good. The owners were well I think quaint is the best description.
