"friendly and lazy"
Great location, beautiful old house, but not good enough maintenance and management. Good choice for overnight in Stone town. For longer stay try some Zanzibar city hotel on the shore.
"In the heart of stone town"
The Chavda is a lovely hotel in the heart of Stone Town which. It is built around a quiet courtyard and has the look and feel of a classic middle eastern merchants house beginning with the huge brass studded doors when you enter to the wide plank flooring and pierced metal work lamps. The beds and rooms were generously proportioned and furnished with […] local furniture. Also the beds had mosquito nets that fully closed and comfortable foam mattresses The hot water was hot and the shower had great water pressure. The rooftop restaurant overlooks most of the town and you get a very good sense of where you are. The breakfasts are good and they serve real coffee rather than instant but be careful of the crows as they will snatch your toast if you leave it unguarded. The staff are helpful and friendly and the hotel can arrange any sort of tours or transport for you if you like but they aren't pushy. I felt that it was good value for money and would stay there again if I was in Zanzibar. Read more

The staff is extremely friendly, especially in the Hotel's restaurant - they'll learn your preferences and you'll soon become friends

"Chavda Hotel, Zanzibar - ideal place to stay in St"
We only stayed one night but really enjoyed our stay and were made to feel very welcome. We ate in the roof top restaurant on two occasions and found the food very good. We would stay here again.

Veldig hjelpsom betjening. Opplevde et par ganger at resepsjonisten fikset kontakt med venner som tok veldig høy pris for feks taxi og båttur. Bør forhandle pris og ikke stole på hva de sier på hotellet. Forøvrig flotte rom og en super takterrasse med restaurant. Som ellers i Tanzania: begrenset frokost med frukt og omelett.

"chavda hotel"
飛行場までは無料の送迎があり、ホテルの部屋は広々としており、清潔でした。シャワーのお湯が出しすぎると足りなくなるといった点、朝、お隣のニワトリの声で起こされるといった点が難点でしたが、ホテルのサービスとしては、まったく問題なく、おすすめです。
"Mitten in Stonetown"
In Steinwurfentfernung zu nahezu allen Stonetown-Highlights, also ideal zum Erkunden der Stadt oder auch als Ausgangspunkt für Tagestouren. Für ein Stadthotel in Tansania sehr ordentlich und komfortabel. Auch geeignet für die letzte Übernachtung vorm Heimflug ab Sansibar Airport, ist ca.10-15 min mit dem Taxi entfernt.

"Chavda Hotel - large rooms and skybar in Stonetown"
We were very pleased with our stay at Chavda Hotel. The staff at front desk was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were large and clean. The skybar offers good views over the city and ok meals.
"Chavda hotel Stonetown"
Nice staff who really tried to help us with our further travel planning. Nice clean good quality hotel with good room. Restaurant was a disappointment - huge menu but only a few items available (which was informed only when ordering and drinks already half gone).
