If you like to travel backpacker style, Essouira Hostel is the only option in the entire Morocco. It is world class! Perfect location and very cool and smartly designed building, but the gem is Magic Man who has been running this hostel for 9 years. You could ask for a more awesome hostel manager. Coolest guy ever, super helpful, very friendly and utmost professional. He, Omar and Rashida is the perfect hostel team. Warmly recommended from someone who's been to 61 countries and has backpacked more than most!

From day one my emails and all my queries were answered straight away and nothing was a problem to do or to be arranged for us. Essaouira is an interesting place, I would not recommend staying longer than 2 days in the city. Breakfast was good every morning. Room was a bit small but comfortable enough. We stayed in the villa the last two days which is in the countryside and a beautiful house. Khadija came with us and did everything in her power to make us feel at home and enjoy our stay. She is a real treasure! Latifa arranged a taxi and a car for us to drive around and was always very helpful. All I remember from this trip is 'no problem', doesn't matter what we asked for! Would recommend this riad for any traveller.

I really loved staying here. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. I just wish the showers were a different style as water got everywhere when I showered. The view of the ocean was amazing from my room!

Location.
Riad Etoile de Mogador is close to Mohammed Ben Abdallah Museum, Place Moulay el Hassan, and Skala de la Ville. Also nearby are Skala du Port and Essaouira Beach.

Lovely Riad in Essaouira. Great price and fantastic service. The staff were lovely and our room was gorgeous. The view from the roof was astounding. Only issue was that it was a bit difficult to find at first, the map provided was very off. Other than that, great great great.

Good points: Staff were fantastic- spoke English, provided a detailed map of the medina and helped with every request we had. We asked to change rooms after the first night- no problem. Fabulous Moroccan hospitality. Great location inside the medina and very close to the beach, terrace has sea view. Breakfast was good. Room 5 is lovely. Extended our […] stay in the same room with no hassle. Drinks, meals and beauty treatments are moderately priced. Crticisms: We had to pay for our stay on arrival. We were given a room on the terrace (room 7- same price as all others) which was small, had ants and fleas- not reflective of the rest of the riad. We asked to change after one night- moved to an excellent room immediately. So overall, very happy. Riad is reccomended, just stay away from room 7! Read more
