Service at the front desk went above and beyond our expectations. They helped us get numbers for rental car places and provided us with everything we needed. Room looked new and modern, but did not have a microwave or fridge, but did have a coffee maker. Our TV's remote control was broken (the battery cover would not stay on), there was a used band-aid on the floor between the two beds, and a hair in one of the new bath towels. Also, I tried to make local calls from the room phone, but even though I followed the instructions on the phone, it kept giving me a busy signal. View from the room was scary (steep hill with roots). Overall, we were pleased by the service provided by the front desk, but all of the other things were a disappointment. Next time, we probably will go with a hotel that had a microwave/fridge and offered drinks and snacks in the lobby, even if it costs a little more. Cleanliness of a room is very important, and we were definitely grossed out by the used band-aid.

This is, in my opinion, the nicest hotel in Pittsburgh. Aside from everything being new, the entire hotel is very upscale and has a luxurious feel about it. The artifacts on display throughout add a nice touch of historical perspective. We stayed in a suite on the city side of the hotel. We had a wonderful visit to Pittsburgh to take in the Steelers vs. Bengals game on December 23. Other than the Steelers losing, this was a fun trip and our stay at the Fairmont was perfect. We were centrally located with access to the light rail stations and within walking distance (across the Roberto Clemente Bridge) to the North Shore. Went into the bathroom to take a shower had inch thick of dust on the back of the door....not to mention my curtains and drapes had stains all over them. Hotel is is great location and staff is amazing. However the room was absolutely dreadful.

New rooms, great workout space, nice restaurant. I have stayed in many places in Pittsburg, some more expensive than this one. This is the best so far. Will stay here in the future.

There is an adjoining lodge to the hotel and after at dinner on Mt Washington, PA very elaborate approx 20 of us went for an after dinner drink and we were told we were too loud and refused service. Very disappointed and embarrassed with the rude bartender and security.

A very quiet place to stay at. Leaving the parking garage requires a prepay at front desk. I did not see any other option for payment and was not informed of any either.

The Fairmont exceeded our expectations. Our accomodations were outstanding and the staff was absolutely incredible. What an amazing experience we had staying at this hotel. My girlfreind and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary. The hotel treated us like gold and the veiws out of the floor to ceiling windows (17th floor) were increadible. Set in the heart of downtown makes you feel minutes from anywhere. We live a mere 20 minutes north and are already planning another overnight trip! Great job Fairmont!!

I have stayed in remodeled holiday inns that were almost as nice and a small fraction of the price. The staff takes themselves a little too seriously for a 4 star hotel in Pittsburgh. The food we ordered in from room service was very expensive but did not taste very good. For the price you can probably do much better.

The Fairmont is a very clean, modern hotel with friendly, helpful staff who provided useful info about places to go in the city. The hotel is extremely convenient for walking to PNC Park, and the walk back to the hotel from the game was safe and easy, even after night games (I am a single female who went to the Pirates games on my own). The hotel is […] close to bus stops going towards Oakland (for the Carnegie museums), and the walk to the inclines was also pretty easy. There is a nice area about a block from the hotel with a nice variety of restaurants (both sit down and take-out), with a small farmer's market on Thursdays during the summer too.
