Hotel CC - Amsterdam

This hotel is pretty great, especially for the price and being in the heart of Amsterdam. The room was spotless and the bed incredibly comfortable; it also had a coffee maker (bonus!) and all the other expected amenities such as hairdryer, tv, soaps and shampoo, etc. The best/worst thing about it is the location -- for a quick stay it's ideal to be […] so close to the main train station (~5 min walk), but the drawback is that you're right near the red light district, which I suppose is fine if you're attending a stag or hen party, but not so great if you need to get some sleep. Once the drunken hoards outside my window finally went home it was fine, but they do stay out rather late and get louder and more obnoxious the later it gets. Perhaps having a room that doesn't overlook the street would make for a pleasanter stay, because the hotel itself really is quite nice. Read more

I had a great room on the river side of the hotel which was very quiet and fantastic. If you are on the street side it will be louder because you are in the Red Light district so be careful of that. You cannot beat the location and the staff was great. I've been to Amsterdam 30-40 times and this hotel is the best value for the price.

Excellent location! Staff was nice, at times. First night I was in a poorly maintained, dirty, dangerously small room (even by European standards), that did not have proper heat. The bed was by a drafty window, so my body ached as I tried to sleep. I refused to stay in that room again, so they did move me, which was good. On my last night, there was […] a small rodent in my room. I also asked to forgo having the maid service, but they continued to come into my room and rearrange my stuff. The doors in the hallway slam loudly and can be disturbing while you try to sleep. If your room is by the stairs, you will hear people going up and down the stairs throughout the night. GREAT location right in the middle of the RLD. Rooms are average size for this price range in Amsterdam. However, lots of noise at night from party goers on the street (and also in the morning). Bonus: hotel has a min-store in the lobby where you can buy snacks and water.

Great decor - who would think black carpets would work in a room. It was modern and used the space well. Very modern bathroom. The room was good sized. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the train station. It also had active nightlife right outside the door, which was great when looking for it, but noisy when trying to sleep. The room was very nice, but small, and the shower didn't drain well, but very nice accommodations for the location and style.

I was really surprised on the the condition and location of this hotel. It was perfect. Less than 5 min from central station; the room was perfect, bed comfortable, plenty of restaurants within 100 ft.......very reasonably priced especially for central Amsterdam.

Stayed two nights. Hotel is very central to "green light" district but don't fear that if you're not accustomed to that culture. The hotel is within walking distance to everything you could want to see and close to Centraal station. The room, while modern, was very small. I was given a room that had a sleeping loft that required a ladder to get to the bed. In this loft, there was barely room to stand and no television. I asked for a different room and was blown off by the staff. This room was completely overpriced on that element entirely. Ok for its price. We got a room facing the front side of the hotel, which looks into the street. Noisy up to 1AM. then coffee shops close, so noise goes away. Location is ok if you like being right into the "movement"; you've got bars, coffee shops and restaurants on the hotel's street.

not extravagant, but clean and nicely appointed. only complaints (which are pretty minor) were the pillows were big (would be nice to have a smaller pillow and thicker one, if there are two, for sleeping comfort of different sleepers) and carpet had not be vacuumed under the beds, which was very obvious when we pulled the two beds apart.

If you're going on vacation and plan to have fun, this is the best hotel. Its right in the middle of everything! Its less than a 10 minute walk from the Train Station which takes you to and from the airport (the Station is actually inside the airport which is awesome!).
