Staff was friendly and room was clean. bed was comfy and the heater was powerful. (it was below freezing outside so having the room warm in minutes was nice) Of course the price was great and of course it wasn't the ritz carlton but it was exactly what I wanted! Highly recommend especially to weary travelers wanting a peaceful night alone or with a lady :)

I had read some other reviews indicating the hotel was a bit rundown, but our room was just fine. It's an older hotel, but the room was in good condition, it was reasonably quiet, and we slept fine. It was perfectly located for our activity the next morning, so it suited our needs quite well. The towels were old and should have been traded out (one had brown stains), but the bed was reasonably comfortable, the room was larger than expected, and the front desk clerk was pleasant and professional. The value was excellent for the rate we paid, and I will definitely stay there again if/when in the area.

I enjoyed this hotel. I would encourage people to stay here if they are wanting a strictly non smoking hotel with good quality. Good overall experience.

The room was absolutely wonderful for the price. I would be glad to recommend this room to anyone who is looking for a nice place to stay for a great price! We only stayed one night, but the beds were comfortable and the hotel was completely remodeled.

"Newer Option in Shelbyville"
The holiday inn provides a different option to stay in Shelbyville, IN. There's not too many large chains located in Shelbyville (with good reason). But I was comfortable with the Holiday Inn brand and the lodging they offered. "Excellent Stay for large group"
Our stay was for a large group of people all coming for a softball tournament. Although the staff was super busy getting everyone checked in they were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were fresh, clean, and beds and sheets were comfy and crisp. The pool was great and plenty of towels! The breakfast was hot and plenty for even large teams of players. […] In the hallway the next morning the cleaning staff stopped us to check on our stay and see if were staying again and if there was anything we needed. not bad, except for the late night call asking if we were having a party in our room because someone else had complained about noise. I was there with my wife and 2 small children who were almost asleep when the phone rang. it seemed to be easier to call from front desk than walk down the hallway and listen for the noise. "short stay"
I cant say much about the stay since we didn't stay. We ended up leaving after only a few hours in the hotel. There was a severe weather system coming in and we needed to make it home before travel conditions got too bad. We had been visiting parents who are not able to travel due to health conditions. We have twosmall children who love to swim that […] is why we picked the hotel. They at least got to swim. We had been informed that the hotel may not charge us for full price of the room since we didnt stay, but they did anyway. upon arrival was very surprised, the night staff were great! Helped us in every possible way, even asked us if we wanted a late check out. "Poor public relations"
When asked when one could have a late check out the desk clerk(male), without looking up, said we do not do late check-outs unless you are a premier club member and then continued doing what he was doing. This is the 1st Hotel and the only Holiday Inn where I have experienced this. "poor location ,pathetic pillows, paper thin walls!"
The hotel was difficult to find. The pillows were the hardest lumpiest pillows I've ever come across and we are regular travelers. The fan would not stay on unless the a/c was off ! I woke up sweating at 4am after battling the insane pillows. Then by 6am the walls were so paper thin you could hear every word the room next door ! The noise continued […] from there on.
