Very nice. Cookies in the kitchen in the evening and plenty of bottled water. Very cozy. Breakfasts were very delicious; quality ingredients. Farm fresh eggs used from their own chickens. The bed pillows were not what I expected to go with the comfortable sheets. Owners, Dana *& Brian were very accommodating.

We really wanted to love this B&B because our host were very accommodating and helpful. However, we couldn’t get past the fact that our cottage probably hadn’t been updated since the 80s. First impressions are very friendly and warm. Our room (Wisteria) felt somewhat musty, but the bed itself was super comfy and the bathroom was spotless, which are the most important things for us ! The breakfast was gorgeous and the road noise does die down at night. We both slept very well.

My partner and I stayed were looking for several days to explore wine country and get away from the noise and hustle of work. We found the perfect place at Brian and Dana's quaint bed & breakfast. The food was made daily, with fresh baked cookies everyday, and the fruits and vegetables picked fresh from their garden on location! They are amazing hosts, […] very accommodating, and so friendly. Don't let the noise from River Road deter you from staying here. While the cars zooming by every now and then were indeed noticeable, they did not take away from our great experience. The room we stayed in was the Wisteria. It is relatively small, but had a queen size bed and plenty of floor space to play dominoes, watch DVDs, and spread out our luggage for four days. It had plenty of natural lighting and was very well kept. I highly recommend the Sonoma Orchid Inn to anyone wanting to getaway from city life and spend some time along the Russian River. Read more

Our hosts were excellent--the made us feel welcome right away, provided very good assistance on local restaurants and wineries, served homemade cookes in the afternoon and excellent homemade breakfasts. Our room was very small, but this is not uncommon for a former B&B. However, although the setting is very nice and "rural," our room faced the street […] and the traffic noise was non-stop through the night. Also, one night was fairly warm and there was no air conditioning in the room--only a fan. When you make a reservation, you may want to request a room that's located farther away from the street. My fiance and I were looking for a romantic get away, and we were delighted with the Sonoma Orchid Inn. This bed and breakfast was in a charming old farmhouse, but it was very well renovated and maintained. The hosts - Brian & Dana - treat you like you're their favorite relative and they take pride in making sure that your stay is delightful. Homemade cookies (persimmon!), a fire in the living room, albums with menus from local restaurants, and great recommendations on the best wineries to visit all made this an exceptional weekend. The Sonoma Orchid inn is located next to Korbel, so stop next door for a really interesting tour and free tastings of their champagne, or trek a little bit farther for other great wineries. If you want to be on the main tourist route, this might not be for you, but if you like hidden getaways within easy drive of the ocean, good eats, fine wine, and rolling hillside, this is your place. Even though the bed and breakfast is actually in the Russian River Valley and not the Sonoma Valley, it is well worth the detour. The hosts are very accommodating, and the breakfast is top-notch. If you want to stay for a few days, the living room and library are extensive and very comfortable. The surrounding scenery and grounds are beautiful.

This bed and breakfast is small and comfortable. The community area is beautiful with forest views. The breakfast was INCREDIBLE. We were greeted promptly and given a tour. The owner was very nice and helpful for whatever we needed. Definitely a typical bed and breakfast. The only minuses were that it was pretty close to the road, so though we didn't really hear it while we were sleeping, sitting outside was a tiny bit noisy. Location is great for Russian River/Healdsburg wineries and the North Coast. Two hour drive from SFO. Korbel next door and hundreds of other wineries a short drive away. First time to the Russian River area and we couldn't have chosen a better spot for a home base. Brian and Dana were wonderful hosts--always ready to give tips to those interested, […] but never overwhelming. They obviously put care and thought into everything about the place from their own "tour guide" binders with valuable local knowledge to the guest kitchen (full of dishes, glasses, and utensils with bottled water, juices, teas, cookies, candies, and picnic supplies). There was also the hot tub with towels awaiting, wireless internet, and NY Times, books, DVDs to share in the living room, and well-kept grounds with several seating areas. The breakfasts were lovely, enhanced by their own eggs and veggies. They included a good assortment of things and there was variety each day--excellent quality ingredients, well made, and attractively served. Also, individual guests' dietary requests were handled with aplomb. We stayed in the smallest room (Wisteria). Felt it was beyond cozy...too small. No comfortable place to sit or for two people’s weekend bags. The shower was a little problematic. I'm a light sleeper, so we had to keep the only window closed at night to keep the River Rd noises out. Fortunately, the room stayed very cool. Comfy bed and linens. If you're okay with only a place to sleep, this room works. Read more
