"Good value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Value proposition is good for the purpose of the visit.
"Really nice place to stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
I was very happy on how nice the hotel was. Everything exceeded my expectations. It's not like the Ritz, but it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely stay there again!
"great for business travler"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Very anticeptic - strictly business. Kind of out of the way, not within walking distance of anything. New - everything works - food at hotel fair. Go here if you are on business, not for entertainment. It is perfect for getting stuff done without distractions.

"One night in Calgary"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
Over all it was good. Since i was there for a n=oone night stay the area was not an issue, if i was there longer i would like to have been in a different area, but i felt the area to be safe, and that is what really counts

"Modern and friendly"
Great place to stay! Good location, modern and friendly staff. Corner room was spacious, the decor very inspiring (first time i've seen wood veneer panels in such a modern intepretation). Nespresso in room was worth the $2.50. Valet is pricy ($38??) but worth it when it's -30 outside! For dinner I like the Rose Garden Thai restaurant around the corner […] on Steven Ave.. For drinks I like the new Libertine on Steven Ave (a block down). Read more

"Dynamite high end Hotel"
Calgary is going European! In the best way. All this place needs is a decent spa and it will rock (opening in 2013 by their accounts) Totally high end staff and accommodations. Great locations. Terrific. And must eat at Char Cut if you are a ravenous carnivore. Sublime.
"Fantastic!"
This is a fantastic hotel. Contemporary and cool, great exercise room, good granola for breakfast (with freshly cut strawberries), ideal location.
"Le Germain Calgary"
Love these hotels. Clean, modern, luxurious without the faux attitude. Very well maintained and lovely service details.
"One night at the Le Germain"
We had just finished 8 nights in the Rockies and were on our way home so this was not a destination hotel for us, just a convenient overnight stop before flying out. That said, being a modernist, this hotel is beautiful and the luxury king that we had (a corner unit) was beautiful and perfectly to our taste. The rooms are VERY modern and the electronics […] and plumbing could use a little more explaination than given by the bell man. If you don't like modern and seek traditional comfort, stay far away..........the staff is not very knowledgable about tourist recommendations. I asked if the town had a "gaslamp" area, with restored old buildings to walk around and shop and eat.........was told no by two people. Luckly, I walked around the block and discovered that there is a 4 block restoration district with pedestrian streets, sidewalk cafes, and shopping around the corner! I could easiliy have left withour seeing it. Read more
Stayed there on the bookend nights around an anniversary trip to Banff. We really enjoyed the hotel and decor. The staff was helpful and even left an gift bottle of wine for our anniversary stay.
"amazing!"
Beautiful hotel, very modern, extremely clean with large rooms, right next to Calgary Tower in the middle of downtown. Great place to stay, definitely worth it!
"germain hotel Calgary"
One of my best stays in Calgary. Hope the price remains affordable. My only complaint would be the price of Valet parking.

I love the decor and the cleaniness of this hotel. My room was immaculate, and the decor was just stunning. The only reason I'm not giving it an overall 5 rating is because of their Breakfast Room. The breakfast room was not very busy, but there was no place to sit because the tables were not cleaned, and alot of their chairs were missing due to other […] guests moving them to other tables. The wait staff (only 2 when I got there) were busy talking and standing around and completely oblivious to the fact other guests were arriving. So we sat down at a dirty table, moved the dirty dishes to the next empty (& dirty) table. There was hardly any food left at the buffet, and there was still another 2 hours left for breakfast! I walked around the room looking for clean cutlery, only to find the bins almost empty so I took the last 2 forks, hoping it was the clean bin, not the dirty one. I asked the waitress if I can get a cup of coffee while she was finally clearing out the table beside us and she gave me the cup and saucer from the dirty table, examined it, and told me it was clean! I stood up, took my plate of fruit and ate in my room, hoping the food was not contaminated so I won't puke on the nice carpet in my nice room. Or worse, die in that nice room and have to haunt the hotel for all eternity. Other than that, the lady at the front desk and the valet were superb! Read more

"Beautiful Room"
Great hotel room, beautiful walk-in closet and bathroom. Stayed during a convention and peers who had booked at other hotels were very jealous of my room. Huge rain shower head, comfortable beds, great workspace. The staff was really polite and friendly.

"Le Germaine - Calgary"
Overall this hotel is great. Staff, location and comfort. The only complaint and the only reason why we wouldn't stay there again is that it is impersonal. Meaning, to charge for coffee in the room when your paying a premium rate a night is not right. Other hotels we have stayed at have been equally as beautiful but, have a nice coffee maker in the […] room for use, even a bottle of water that they don't charge $5.00 for. Parking that is included. Little touches like fruit or cookies at the front desk go a long way. This hotel has some things to learn about making your guest feel welcome! Read more
Loooooooved our stay with you!!

"Modern and posh"
Apart from the good service and nice facilities, the modern interior design of the hotel makes it very refreshing to stay at Hotel Le Germain. From sliding doors, walk-in closet, nice sized bathroom, to the very functional work area (with free wired and wireless internet) makes it an awesome alternative to the regular traditional hotels in downtown […] Calgary. Not to mention the Nespresso machine in the room, that is a very nice touch compared to the regular drip coffee machine you would find even in a 5 star hotel. If you are downtown calgary and are paying 4 to 5 star rates, Hotel Le Germain would top the other hotels of the same rating. Read more
"Modern, Clean, & Friendly!"
This hotel is a must stay! The staff were all very helpful. The rooms were clean and modern. A great getaway!
"Stunning Modern Downtown Hotel"
Spacious, modern and well decorated room. Highly convenient downtown location, surrounded by great restaurants and bars. Friendly and helpful service staff. I highly recommend this hotel

"Easy to find, friendly to use, helpful with proble"
We were awoken by construction noise ... but the staff made very appropriate adjustments to our concerns. Staff were friendly, the breakfast experience is commendable both in quality of food and care from the staffing. Rooms are different, calming in the midst of a busy city. Recommend the experience, from valet parking to warm quiet hallways.
"Down Town Hotel"
Close to the place of business. it is very new and modern compared to other downtown hotels and the pricing is comparable with Mariott, but the rooms are much nicer and by far more modern.

"Hotel le germain"
Wonderful hotel, rooms were immaculate, employees were very friendly, great location and delicious breakfast. Walked in to a hand written note congratulating my partner and I on our anniversary and a complimentary bottle of red. This is now my favorite hotel in Calgary and worth every penny.

"Hotel Le Germain Calgary"
I recently spent 3 nights in this wonderful, new hotel with friendly staff, luxurious rooms and it is spotlessly clean. For me, a major drawback was the lack of 24 hour room service. They do have an espresso machine and bar fridge and one can order supper from the restaurant in the lobby (5:30 - 10:30 pm) but there is no in-room breakfast, lunch or […] late night dining. This is an expensive boutique hotel with wonderful rooms but the fact that one has to go wondering the streets of Calgary in the middle of the night for a bite to eat substantially degraded my overall experience. Other 4-star hotels in the area (there are no 5 star hotel in Calgary) do offer 24 hour room service and their prices are equivalent and sometimes cheaper than the Le Germaine. I had a deluxe corner room which was well appointed but the louvres over the windows (there are no drapes) do not block out the light or noise. At 3:30 am in the summer the sun light starts streaming in and distrurbs one. Thick, heavy drapes would help considerably to keep the light out and dampen the traffic noise. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Each room is controlled by some high-end electronics but it is not intuitive and here is no quck step guide. On entering the room one has to place the key card into a special slot before being able to switch on the lights. I had read about this from another guest who had the same problem, so I knew what to look for and I found it without any issue. Without this information it would have been near impossible to get the lights, air-con etc. working - so look out for the card receptacle (just a slot in the wall) near the door else you cannot get anything to work. There are NO instructions or labels at all. Overall the hotel, room and staff deserve 8.5/10 but I would not go back there because of the food issue. I mean, one has one of the fanciest hotel rooms in Calgary and you cannot just curl up and enjoy it - you've got to get up, get dressed and trek somewhere f Read more

Fantastic modern rooms in the heart of downtown.
"Le Germain"
Central Location for sightseeing , shopping, eating, nice irish bar around the corner and reasonable price. Very modern hotel but quite expensive to stay and coffee in room cost $2. Didn't use restaurant , nice toiletries (molton brown).

"Great location, Amazing hotel."
My Friends and I had a day trip planned to Calgary, right when we arrived at the hotel we were greated with hospitality. The valet parking was amazing, and the room was beautiful. The beds were such a confortable sleep, and the rain shower was a great way to wake up. I would love to stay at this hotel on all my stays in Calgary.
"Hotel Le Germain-Only place to stay in Calgary!"
Modern styling, courteous and professional service, luxury surroundings. This is the only place to stay in Calgary! Asked for a complimentary upgrade and it was done in a snap. Get your breakfast included - it's much more than your run-of-the mill continental. Healthy options and good coffee.
"Do not be better"
Hotels room was clean, the building was new, contemporary interior was great, location was easy to find (just across the Calgary tower), above all I experienced the best service ever. When I was staying there, it was my birthday. I asked nice restaurant near the hotel. "Yuko" recommended perfect restaurant and left handwriting greeting message in the […] room. I could not forget that memory forever. I think Hotel Le Germain Calgary is the best spot in Calgary. Read more

"Excellent boutique hotel in Calgary"
I stayed at the hotel for 3 days i a DELUX room. Never had a nicer room, and I have been to quite a few. Huge, nice view, and nice bathroom. Good working-space. I really appreciated the Nespresso-machine. Excellent service all over. Great hotel restaurant, The Chatcut Roast House, and nice and healthy breakfast. It looked like a nice hotel for business […] meetings as well, dough I did not try that. My only complain would be the fitness room. It would have been nice with some more training equipment and a spinning bicycle. I really recommend this hotel. I will definitely come back. Read more
