We stayed two nights. Received a GREAT rate. It was quiet, clean, close to the beach, and comfortable. Free parking and the staff were very friendly. The management office is open 24/7.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

the location was perfect, just 10 minutes from the event we were attending and just a 5 minute walk to the beach. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. Would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Priced right and convenient to beach. Nice pool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed at this hotel twice during our vacation... first night in FL, and last night in FL, as we were using Ft Lauderdale airport and touring FL on motorcycle trip. Anyway, the hotel was quiet and two blocks off the main drag, which we liked, yet only short walk to beach and restaurants on the main strip. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. […] The pool was clean and uncrowded. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Cute & Comfortable Rooms Near Beach"
The staff was very friendly and the room was quite nice. I got a small "studio" room and was comfortable. The hotel is near to the beach (few blocks) but also in a quiet area so no noisy clubs or streets nearby. Had a nice stay (too bad it was only 1 night). The only thing is that it is not near the airport (had a very early morning flight), but much […] better to be by the beach than the airport anyways! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I booked this room, last minute, to attend our daughter's mid-week college graduation. We arrived VERY late; however, that was no problem as I informed them ahead of time that we would. The night clerk was very attentive, but did not delay taking us to our room, knowing we were very tired. I was amazed how nice this efficiency is; their description […] does not do it justice! We stayed only 2 nights, but wish we could've stayed longer. The staff are pleasant, it's a very clean facility, and the location is perfect. We are DEFINITELY coming back for a longer stay. My husband, who dislikes traveling, was even impressed and asked for their card to refer to friends. THAT is saying a lot, in itself! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet, Close to all, Value"
Good small hotel in a quiet location close to all. Good value for someone who wants either dining out or cook inside, be close to the beach while not paying exuberant prices, have parking and explore surrounding areaGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Booked a room for $119 through Expedia. They gave me a room in a dark corner of the motel. The room was very clean which is most important to me. The furniture was old and cheap. The beds were not pillow top and somewhat hard. The bathroom was nicely updated but they installed a pedestal sink so there is no room to place one's toiletry bag. The back […] of my room looked out onto a rundown shack of a house which was not pleasant. One thing I found strange is that there was nowhere on this property or their property next door (The Tranquilo) to get a bottle of water. One of their properties, a few blocks away, has a little store but they do not tell you that when you check into your room. The area is cool. There are a lot of older motels and hotels that look 1950-60ish that they are redo'ing. Has a retro feel. Next time I will spend the extra to be closer to the beach which is a good 3 blocks away. Very nice! Good family style hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had stayed at Cocobelle many times before the "refurb" and were always pleased with it. However Room 4 we stayed in this time was very basic and had a light right out side the window making it fee like midday all through the night. The next morning we saw the person at reception who moved us to Tranquilo which was much better.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

A relaxing and quiet place. The rooms were clean and well maintained, but I would have gone for one of the bigger apartments with separate bedroom if I was to stay there again. Our room had a fridge and microwave oven, which was very convenient. There was also a cabinet full of plates, glasses and silverware, but there was no sink (apart from in the […] bathroom) and no table to sit by, so I don't really see the need for it. I'd rather have the space for my suitcases etc. We had the pool to ourselves most of the time, even though there were plenty of guests. I guess the others went to the beach (a 5 minute walk), or shopping (a 5 minute drive). The area was quiet, but there were no stores/restaurants very close by. Also we could not see a vending machine or an ice machine in the motel. Check-in was in the nearby Tranquilo. Free parking and wi-fi. Gass grill in the pool area. Pool towels. We had a nice stay there, and would definitely consider staying there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nette, kleine Apartmentanlage in Strandnähe"
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice, comfortable, convenient place to stay"

My family was travelling through Florida and found this hotel through the great reviews on Trip Advisor. We only needed a room for three people for one night and wanted to be near the beach. This property certainly fit the bill. I called the day of and was advised that she only had one room on the lower level available with a King bed and a pullout sofa bed. Usually, the sofa beds are the worst, but not so at this hotel...My 16 yr old son actually enjoyed it. The sofa bed was European style and had a regular mattress on it which pulled out from a trundle. So it all worked out for us. There was a full kitchen, which we didnt need, but was good to know if we ever come back this area. Checkin was easy at the Tranquillo hotel a few yards away as others have mentioned. The pool was right in front of our room which was quiet for our stay, but I imagine would be noisy during the summer. The only problem with our room was that the exterior light shown in the bedroom window and was very bright...I tried to pull the curtains together, but to no avail. So I put my pillow over my face to get to sleep. I did mention this to a maintenance guy I saw in the morning. Otherwise, great stay! I am attaching photos of our room.
"Nice, quiet place near the beach"

We stayed in one of the 1 bedroom apt rooms. It was roomy, clean, and came with a full kitchen (refrigerator, stove, microwave, pots, pans, dishes, utensils and 2 corkscrews!). We found it to be very comfortable for two people. It's in a quiet area and only a few blocks to the beach. The neighborhood isn't the most attractive, but it's not bad (lots of empty lots). There's some sort of rehab place nearby, but this has zero effect on the neighborhood. Mostly it's older, small hotels (all owned by the same group). The pool area was very nice. There is no office at this hotel and all business must be done at Tranquilo which is on the same block. It's a very minor inconvenience, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. One of our complaints was that the room was very bright due to inadequate shades and bright exterior lights. We casually mentioned it to the staff and were told that they were in the process of installing dark curtains. They also sent a maintenance person around to turn off one of the exterior lights. Pretty good service for just a casual comment! There's not much in the immediate area, which adds to the quietness, but it's just a short walk to the bars/restaurants in the north Fort Lauderdale area (near the Bonnet House). A couple blocks away at The Royal Palms, there's a nice, small pool bar which also serves food from breakfast till about 1 am. The Palms is a gay oriented hotel owned by the same company as the Cocobelle, and it's very friendly and open to all. Aside from the bright room, the only other complaint would be the lack of a TV in the bedroom. Again, just a very minor inconvenience, as there's a large flat screen in the living room. We found Cocobelle to be a good value and will definitely stay there again.

We are Florida residents and met our daughter and granddaughters at the Cocobelle Resort for a mini-vacation. They, to escape the Northern cold and we, to escape for a few days. A staycation, of sorts. The Cocobelle resort is a 16-room hotel with pool with mid-century architecture. It's a little jewel only a 10 minute walk to the beach, and part of a group of hotels in the area that have undergone a wonderful renaissance. Most of the buildings in the neighborhood that are not private homes are rejuvenated and cater to a diverse population. The developer is doing the ultimate recycle. Instead of knockdown these buildings are lovingly, tastefully renovated for a new generation. Cruise ship passengers, take note:For those of you needing a place to stay before or after your cruise, this is perfect. It's only about a $20 taxi ride from the airport, and the rooms are tidy and clean. The room types vary from a room with a coffee pot and mini-fridge to a full suite, with apartment-sized appliances, coffee pot, tea kettle, pots and pans and service for four. They even had an iron and ironing board in our suite, as well as a hair dryer. Although our daughter booked on line, I'd call because of the variety of rooms available. Towels are plentiful and the housekeeping staff cheerfully provides more if needed. It is suggested that if you wish to reuse your towels, do not leave them on the floor, as that's the signal for fresh towels. They are trying to be environmentally conscious, even providing a body wash and shampoo combo in the shower. Good quality, doesn't dry the skin or hair. Great water pressure in our room #11, and the water heats up very fast. Air conditioners and ceiling fans kept the place crispy fresh. WiFi's available. There are two floors with 8 rooms on each and the building's an L-shape. The open part of the L would leave the pool exposed to the street but for a privacy fence and a beautiful hedge of coconut and traveler palms. It makes for a lovely oasis with almost all street noise blocked. There is a grill poolside. On the end of the building closest to the street and on the second floor, there is a sundeck. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast at the Plaza Bistro, review to follow soon. That was about three blocks away and a short walk. I enjoy a clean, conveniently-located place to hang my hat while I go exploring. Cocobelle was cute, had friendly staff and guests, and was a perfect place for a mini family reunion. We were making plans for next year before we even left!

I only stayed here one night in "king studio". Two floors, smaller property. The pool area looked pleasant, tried to imagine myself having to share this smaller pool. I believe a gas grill was available. I was able to find on street parking fairly close. Cocobelle presently sits across from a large, but grassy green vacant lot. My large room was clean, had a table, and basic utensils for two. A fridge, micro, good window a/c unit and iron. Each room had two resin exterior chairs by entry. Tile floors. My flight arrived at FLL at 1140PM so it was a late check-in, but was glad a friendly face greeted me at main desk at Tranquilo resort. I had called ahead as I knew arrival would be late.Although the area felt safe, I wish two keys to resort were available: one for main gate, and another for room. Yes, these small properties used to be privately owned, and would "screen" their clientele. Fortunately, North Beach Village welcomes all.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Cocobelle from 3/20/14 - 3/23/14 in Room 13 (2nd Fl.). When we arrived we knew we had to head to a sister hotel, Tranquilo, which is on the same street about 300 feet on the same side of the road. It's about the same distance you would have to walk from a hotel parking lot into the hotel lobby to check in. We checked in immediately with no waiting and the two girls working at the time went above and beyond to get us information about paddleboarding and where to go pick up groceries at Publix (close driving distance)...our room had full kitchen. We were provided our parking pass which we were able to use at any North Beach Village resort in Ft. Lauderdale. We did have a visitor with a car and they could either purchase a $20 parking pass OR park on-street parking across the street from Cocobelle for free (if spots available). When we reached our hotel room, we commented on how much we liked the room (king bed plus twin bed, full kitchen (full fridge), good size flat screen tv, good size closet and changing area, clean good sized bathroom with stand up shower only) and how clean it was. Both beds had two full sized bath towels rolled up neatly on them, the closet had two more full sized bath towels and the bathroom (very clean) had more hanging towels (bath, hand and face). We had great water pressure in the shower. We did notice that we could not get wifi in the room and we advised the office. Within 30 minutes the IT guy was standing outside our door working on it. Unit 13 is in the back corner so it is difficult for wifi connection. The pool area was very nice with lighting at night and it was quiet. We preferred not to have housekeeping so we kept the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door until we checked out. Cocobelle is a couple blocks from the beach and we were able to walk down to the center....but I would recommend some walking shoes to do that. We would definitely stay at Cocobelle again, and we would also stay at Tranquilo, which has two pools!
"Just not the same"

Recently we stayed at the Cocobelle Resort which we've gone to for years. To our surprise it has been taken over by North Beach Village resort. This is a larger conglomerate that has taken over about 15 of these tiny resorts that were at one time privately owned. Upon arrival at the Cocobelle we learned we had to go down the street to another Resort in order to checkin. We had made our reservation well in advance and paid for 2 adults and 1 child. Once checked in we received our parking tag and went back to the Cocobelle. No parking spots were available because not only do they provide passes to staying customers but they also get money for renting them out for $20. You get the picture. We checked into our room #13 and here's where we started our road to major disappointment. Despite our reservation for 3 people, there were only towels for 1. The wifi didn't work so we had to go out to the pool to get any service at all. Spring break was on so as you can imagine there were some guests who were big on testosterone and low on discretion. I know that under the previous owners, this type of clientele would not have been given suites. The pool area under the private owners used to be drenched in tasteful lights that brought out the quaintness of the resort at night. Those were gone. I guess they cost money to run. Our shower was more effective coming out of the bottom spout than it was coming out of the shower head. There were no phones in the room either. While the management might say, why didn't you bring this to our attention I'd respond that when I'm on vacation I'm not there to conduct a quality review for your hotel nor should I have to. This is what your staff is for. Really disappointing. I will say the staff of the hotel was very friendly especially the housekeeping lady that sat outside of our suite for easily 40 minutes waiting for us to check out prior to jumping on our cruise. I was aware she wanted to clean our suite because every time I walked out to use the wifi at the pool, she asked me when we were leaving. My point is this: North Beach Resort has managed in less than a year to tak the nice, quaint, relaxing little Cocobelle Resort that once was and turn it into an indifferent, sterilized, money making venture. I wish them the best of success in the future however our family will never stay there again.

We stayed at Cocobelle for 1 night pre-cruise. Location is fantastic! Close enough to the beach. They have a pool that looked nice, even though we did not use it. The room was clean and perfect for our family of 4. The check in process was extremely easy. The girls at the reception area were very friendly. Our room was not ready at first, however they were willing to store our bags while we went to the Galleria mall to shop. It's located in a quieter area of the strip which we did not mind. A great price compared to the other hotels in the area. It's not a 5 star hotel. However, if you want a 5 star hotel, pay the 5 star price.

We are a small family of 3, travelling with our infant son. We stayed 9 nights in a one-bedroom at Cocobelle. It is clean, tastefully furnished and comfortable. The pool is heated, spotless and private (unlike other properties where the pool is adjacent to public sidewalk or parking lot). My expectations were exceeding and I would definitely stay at this lovely hotel again.

We stayed at Cocobelle for 3 nights. Location is great, only 2 blocks from the beach. Clean and comfortable room and small heated pool in the garden. Private garden was nice so people weren't able to see the pool are from the street. The hotel reception is located in another hotel, but it wasnt a problem. This place is suitable for couples who likes peaceful and quiet place.
