"Decent but not a 4 start hotel"
we stayed there for a night and we booked two rooms. Although the hotel says its a 4 star hotel, it is only in the name and i dont see any 4 star hotel similarities within. It is definitely a good hotel to stay but not the 4 * level one.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Can't understand how they got a 4 star rating"
The room was ok, the shower wouldn't drain properly and the water temp changed from hot to cold and back. Breakfast was bad, too many sweets and only a sliced hard boiled egg, cheese and some ham. Also they neglected to refill things like water. When we came to breakfast after nine (served till 10) the people who worked at the dining area looked at […] their watches and gave us looks that made us fill very unwelcome. The WiFi was ok only we had to get new users every day cause they expired after 24 hours and during the day the account would log out suddenly and we'd have to log back in. Out of the 5 hotels we've been to on this trip this one is one the bottom of my list. Find some other hotel in the area... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My boyfriend and I spent two nights at the Pompeii Resort. We arrived slightly before check-in, and the room wasn't ready, but the front desk staff made sure we were comfortable and were given superb service at the bar while we waited. Our room was basic (we only had a regular double room) but had everything we needed and more. Everything worked well […] and it included a really great view of Mt. Vesuvius off the balcony. The front desk staff were beyond helpful and went above and beyond in their service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Pompeii area! Room and breakfast were very satisfactory. Two negative points to mention are firstly somewhat delapitated surroundings without pleasing restaurant choices in near vicinity to the hotel, and secondly a too small parking area. When we returned after dinner we were extremely lucky to be able to squeeze our car in the only very tight parking space left […] which had by chance become free as one car was leaving. "Decent hotel for the price"
This is a decent hotel for the price, but they are trying to be something they are not - a 4-star hotel. Just accept this is a 3-star, and that the views of Mt Vesuvius aren't necessarily all they're cracked up to be and you'll be fine. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms pretty good sized. The bed wasn't quite as comfortable as you'd like. The rooms […] are quiet - the setting out of the downtown area is pretty good, although traffic at the nearby rotary is a mess most of the evening (but that seems to be true anywhere you go in Italy). "Nice hotel in a tourist area that is run down"
Overall a good experience but the room was very warm and, despite 4 requests to turn on the air flow/air conditioner, this was not done. The "climate" in the public areas was fine/cool so I don't understand why they could not have the same climate in the guest rooms. The staff was professional and reasonably polite but did not seem interested in making […] our rooms more comfortable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to the ruins of Pompeii."
My wife and I enjoyed the hotel. Nice buffet breakfast and a restaurant on site. Unexpected amenities like toothbrushes in the room. Very nice shower with multiple heads! Short (15 minute) walk to the ruins of Pompeii and a ten minute walk to the train station.Genuine Expedia guest review
Everything was just fine but the bed was way too hard. All information in english was grammatically incorrect in case the hotel would like to change that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient if you have a car."
It was easy to get to the hotel from the autostrada exit. Rooms were nice but a bit dark when it wasn't daylight. There was a light over each side of the bed, which helped. The restaurant is a good value with wine included in the fixed price menu. We thought the food was good. Service was attentive at first but as the room got fuller, we were kind of […] ignored. But once we got their attention they were quick to get what we requested. Breakfast was fine, with enough selections and plenty of coffee. I had read that it was walking distance to Pompeii ruins. So we walked in the afternoon to see if we wanted to walk the next morning for our visit. It is a long walk and since you would have to walk all that way back, it's a waste of time. We found a lot where parking was 5 euro for the day, very secure. Definitely worth it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"What a great place to stay!"
The staff was very professional and friendly, and the rooms were clean, modern, and nice. The hotel is only a short drive from the Pompeii ruins which was nice because we went to the ruins 3 days in a row. The breakfast was really good, and was one of the best hotel breakfasts that we had on our trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A diamond in the rough"
This is a very nice hotel....but the surrounding area is really dirty. We walked from the train station to the hotel & we were sure we must be going the wrong way...it is not a good neighborhood and there is trash everywhere. But then then you look up & there is this beautiful, modern hotel! Staff was very nice but the shuttle service was not as available […] as we would have liked. Pompeii is a longer walk than I think was represented in their description (it was at LEAST 20 min brisk walk) to the main entrance and I honestly wouldn't walk those streets after dark (there are 2 different ways to go & we went both). I hate to write bad stuff about them, because compared to the other places we stayed at in Italy, for the price, it was one of the fanciest. There was a REAL BLOWDRYER in the bathroom (the european ones leave something to be desired) and they had every complimentary toiletry you could think of. Also...I have never smelled cleaner, fresher bedsheets. Seriously...it was amazing. If you don't mind the location, I would highly recommend it....and I would also tell you not to miss seeing Pompeii. It is amazing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed there 3 nights from Sept 15 - Sept 17, 2013. The staff was great. Room was clean but the bed and pillows a little hard. Restaurant was good. The only real problem was the location of the hotel in a not to good part of Pompei, although a really nice mall was very close by. Close to the ruins.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel for day trip to Pompeii excavations"
We stayed at the Pompeii resort for one night in a three-bed room. The room was "European-size", small but adequate, comfortable and clean. We admired and used the shower spa with whirls and disco lights but would not pay extra. Air conditioning and internet worked fine. We took the daily 3-course dinner in the hotel restaurant which tasted very good, […] include wine and water and was an excellent value overall. The breakfast buffet was recommendable as well. Great hotel...if you have a car. The walk from the train station is longer than you think, sunny, and bumpy with suitcases. After 10 days in Italy this was the only location where we were taken advantage of by taxi drivers (saying our hotel was 10km away when really it was 1 km away to trick us) and the locals would try to manipulate you. The walk to […] the hotel does not have good lighting and feels unsafe, so you are limited to the restaurant at the hotel. The hotel was nice, but not 4 stars in my opinion. Breakfast was large, but all sweet pastries and only one coffee is free. The staff didn't speak the best English and couldn't offer much extra help. I'm not sure why they call it a resort...they don't offer any resort luxuries or even have a pool. If you are going to Pompeii for the day you are better off taking the train in for the day from Naples and then leaving. The city of Pompei is not tourist friendly, especially on Monday when the town is empty at night. Again if you have a car this place is a lot more convenient. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel in a great location"
The hotel room was clean, colorful and comfortable. The balcony on the other side of the hallway offered a nice view of Vesuvius. The shower was very small, but it had many settings (rainfall, steam,...) Breakfast was more than adequate. Couldn't be happier for the price we paid!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is upscale, but has some significant flaws. When we checked in I made sure to ask for the highest floor. The concierge told me that the hotel only has 2 floors & we were on the second.....not true. The floors are tiled, so we were kept awake by the person above walking around in heels & then waking up very early & walking around in heels again! […] The breakfast was below average......only breads & toast.....no fruit, cheeses, juice was watered down. I could not get the shower to work & called for assistance.......never came. They did store our luggage & provide shuttle service to the ruins even though we had checked out that morning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, walking distance from Pompeii ruins"
My wife and I opted to stay in Pompeii, rather than Naples, since we had heard through many reviews that Naples was kind of a rough place (and even though we come from Los Angeles and have been to New York, we didn't want to deal with that on vacation). We loved the small-town feel staying in Pompeii and were willing to risk the volcano! The place was […] really nice, however we were put in a "disadvantaged" room for some reason - perhaps our fault when booking - which made it kind of awkward having a bathroom equipped for those in wheel-chairs and other room features for handicapped persons although both of us are marathon runners and yoga enthusiasts. That said, the room was actually very nice, the bed was awesome and the staff was very pleasant. We had read reviews that the staff did not speak English, but if you are going to Italy and you are staying away from the large cities, you probably should learn a little Italian to get by anyway! (you can pick up a pocket book "Italian for travelers" and any version will help you through). Overall a nice experience being in the small town feel and we ate a local pizzeria and got our fruit and groceries from local spots, which was very cool :) Of course, look up how to get there from the train station so you don't get lost - it is walk-able, just remember that cobblestones make it a little difficult to roll your suitcase ;) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"This is a gem in the area"
We stayed in about 9 different hotels on our recent trip to Italy from 3 to 5 star hotels; this one was one of the best, in terms of comfort&service and amenities. Pros: free internet, parking, newly redone rooms, with balcony, comfortable, breakfast is free and decently managed; close to Pompei scavi. Staff is willing to help always, very approachable, […] friendly; wished we stayed longer here, but since we planned all our hotels ahead ot time, we had to get going. Easy access to Naples from here and about 1h away from Amalfi coast. Cons: shower cabin a bit small, but it seems to be a common thing in Italy Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pleasant in Pompeii"
The decor in this place is unusual--not modern, not ornate, not classic. Spare, muted colors mixed with bold. It was quite interesting after a week of detail overload in Rome. The place was clean, the grounds were gorgeous, but surrounded by less than gorgeous grounds. About the only issue that we had is that it is a ten minute walk to eating places. […] Not a big deal, but I wear a leg brace and after spending all day at the ruins walking around it would have been nice to have had an eating place closer to the hotel. I would consider staying at this place again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Incompetent and rude staff"
Although the rooms are ok, the staff was terrible. They do not speak English, do not provide basic help and are beyond rude. We have been traveling all over Italy and have seen all kinds of hotels, small, nice, dirty, not comfortable, but none were close to this experience. If you lose your key, they do not give you another and instead will argue […] with you. More of a bad 2 star hotel type of service. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel, but not great location"
We had expected the hotel to be closer to the Pompeii Ruins than it turned out to be. It certainly is a walkable distance, but after spending most of the day at the excavation site and then walking back to the hotel we were very tired. The area right around the hotel would not be an area I would want to be walking around after dark. The hotel restaurant […] is okay, not great. On a positive note - the room was very nice and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. You will need to get taxis to and from the train station at around ten euros each way. Loved the hotel, the staff was great, and took great care to provide gluten-free food for my GF with celiac. The restaurant was delicious, provided an entire meal with a glass of wine for 18€. The hotel was incredibly clean, and quite beautiful inside. They provided us a shuttle to the train station when we left. Was only a 1 mile (1.7 km) walk to Pompei […] ruins, and less than a mile to downtown and the beautiful church. My only downs for this hotel, was the 1 km walk to downtown, and the bed... which was pretty par for the course while in Italy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent Pompei vacation"
This hotel, while not in the center of town, is easily accessible to the city and the highway. The hotel was very nice, clean and spacious and the staff were fabulous! We did not make it out in time for breakfast and when the manager saw us leaving, she quickly ushered us to the restaurant and had them make us breakfast before we left. The Pompeii Resort hotel provided us with an excellent stay. I very highly recommend it. The best part of it was THE STAFF who went out of their way to be friendly and thoughtful. The hotel is located very close to the archeological site (Pompei) and very close to the highway, but it is set back so that you won't see much of the traffic or the chaos in the streets. Rooms are so outdated they feel unwelcoming. Breakfast is a joke. They put a couple of slices of ham and cheese out at a time so you always have to wait for something. "Overnight stay to visit pompeii."
Unfortunately we had booked an accessible room. Staff were most unhelpful and said the entire hotel was full so we couldn't move rooms. I went on line straight away and managed to reserve on two different websites so they clearly were not full. The toilet didn't even have a seat yet they weren't bothered. We asked for a shuttle to the ruins and we're […] told it was not working for 2 days yet they weren't prepared to offer an alternative. This was the ONLY reason for booking a hotel so far out. Decided to eat in the hotel restaurant as the menu looked ok. The man taking our order was in charge of all the waiting staff and continually broke off to tell them what to do whilst talking to us and us giving our order then having to repeat. Very rude. Service was terrible. They cleared plates while I was still eating and then brought my main while I was still having first course. They didn't understand so manager came over and took it away by which time I'd finished my starter. Staff were busy greeting guests for an Italian function which was their priority. Breakfast was ok. Though very little of each food type was put out in case guests took two. Wouldn't stay again after our experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
