I stayed in a dorm type room. Unfortunately wireless was not available in any rooms. The lounge was always busy, and sometimes there was not seats available. Mini locker was available but you have to pay for key(about 4pounds).

I am 60 years old, most of the visitors were 25, the 16 guest in my room were mostly men. I would have preferred a room with only women. The bathrooms and showers were private and clean...a plus. The lounge area was packed with young people, I didn't feel comfortable in there. Pluses: Nice that there's a pub, internet cafe, restaurant. Very reasonable price. The shower feels like waterfalls. Minuses: The shower turns off every few seconds. Wish there was a shower room exclusively for women. I could hear loud footsteps of people in the upper floor.

My daughter and I just got back from a one week stay at Palmer's Lodge Swiss Cottage. We had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend the Lodge. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate guests whenever possible. The rooms, and particularly the bathrooms, were spotless. We noticed that the bathrooms were cleaned several […] times per day. The beds were comfortable and the reading light is a nice touch. There is a nice solarium where you can sit and have your meal or a drink where they have thoughtfully provided blankets if you feel it is too chilly. There are a number of computers available and we never had any difficulty connecting to the wifi in our room. There is a large fridge and microwave on site which is great if you want to bring in your own food. The Lodge is close to several grocery stores as well as a few nice restaurants. I stayed in the women's room of 21. Had I taken earplugs and an eye-mask, oh, and a padlock and a towel... I think it would have been fine. As it was I was unlucky my bed was underneath a light (on until 1.30) and by the door... so I didn't sleep very well. Travelling on my own, and not having a padlock for the drawer meant I wasn't willing to leave […] stuff to have a shower... even if I'd thought to take a towel. A good hostel for the price. Solid wooden frames for bunks, which do shake and make a racket every time someone moves on the bed. Busy, but well built house means that the noise is good for a hostel. The cleanliness is above average for a hostel too.

I was more than satisfied with my three nights in this hostel, whether it's in terms of staff, breakfasts, comfort in the rooms, lavatories, or the cosiness of the lounge (leather sofas). You can also go for a run or a nice walk to nearby Regent's Park or Hampstead area. For the price I paid, it was real value for money.

The hostel was very well kept, very tidy, with very friendly and helpful staff. It was situated very close to Swiss Cottage tube station, which enabled easy (if expensive, but the tube rates aren't their fault) passage into the city. There is a lounge area and a bar if you are at a loose end, and the rooms etc were very good, for the price.

The room I stayed in was £16 a night and for London prices I wasn't complaining! I've stayed in a lot worse places in London and paid a lot more. I was happy with the room although, personally, I would rather stay in a hotel I actually thought the hostel was really nice! The breakfast/kitchen area was nicely decorated and they even had a coffee machine where guests could help themselves to to different kinds of drinks. A piece of toast and a croissant at breakfast got me going for the day and the hostel had storage area for the luggage while I was out and about in London. When I came back to collect my bag I had a quick drink in the bar area and noticed there was a good selection of food on the menu and drinks at very reasonable prices! I would stay here again!
