Unfortunately, I was there after Oct. 15th, when air conditioning is not allowed throughout the country, and it was unusually warm and I couldn't control the climate of the room. The bathroom wasn't in the best of conditions and the surrounding neighborhood didn't seem safe at night. The hotel is very easy to find from Termini (the end stop of the Leonardo Express from Fiumicino Airport, about a 1hr train). We checked in and left our bags then walked to the Republique metro stop about 300 m away, so everything is quite accessible. While we were out, my wallet was stolen, something we were prepared for but that was still very upsetting […] because we were certain we had taken every precaution against it. We got back to the hotel and the receptionist drew us a map to the police station but told us they were closed, to wait until the morning. He was very apologetic but not surprised. We got up to our room, and our day was brightened a bit by the massive bed, nice bathroom, and working wifi (there are passcodes at the desk). In the morning I noticed the balcony, but there wasn't much of a view, it was just nice. We walked to the Colosseum and Forum, but it was closed because we had spent all day rearranging our money. We decided to go back the morning of our departure, and we had to literally run from the Colosseum, through the Forum, back to the hotel for our backpacks, then to the train station. We made it in 30 minutes. Talk about convenience! Breakfast was great, too, with fresh juice, coffee, yogurt, bread, and cereal. It certainly helped make our time there a bit less expensive, also. Pros : Close to train station. Cons : Pricey, Mattress old and uncomfortable, mildew in bathroom, tube TV, internet SLOW and you have to keep agreeing to terms of service agreement every 15min or so. I walked from/to Roma Termini and also to the Spanish steps from the Camelia. The staff is as gracious as if it were a 5-star hotel. Internet is free to guests. Bathrooms are recently renovated and sparkling clean.

Pros: breakfast buffet, location, and wifi. The breakfast bar helped us get going on seeing the many sights of Rome by foot. This is not a hotel for travelers wishing to stay in and enjoy a luxurious experience. It's a hotel for people like me who only used it for resting and sleeping, which is what you should do when you travel on a budget. The bed was amazingly comfortable, the room had A/C, TV (in italian and 2 channels in english) and a safe, advertised Wifi but had troubles […] during my stay, the room was perfectly clean and the soundproofed windows were a good plus. The room was tiny and did not have much in it: bed, chair, desk, closet, mirror and the bathroom, also small with very small shower, but it served its purpose, I enjoyed my stay immensely. The staff was great, very helpful, good Spanish and English; especially the people in the restaurant. The breakfast was varied enough and the food was good quality. Location-wise, really close to Termini and Republicca stations, several bus stops near by as well. Supermarket and convenience store 1 block away and amazing gelatto shop (I Caruso) on Via Collina, 2.5 blocks away. It is a little removed from the main sites, but that provides a quiet atmosphere to really relax and recharge your batteries for intense walking days. Basically this is a nice hotel. It is very clean and tidy and well preserved. The staff is great! They are speaking English quite well and always willing to explain, assist and answer your questions. The rooms are quit small (at least our room was). Even though the receptionist indicated that all the rooms are the same size, this isn’t exactly true. […] We have had a room which is next to the elevator and the feeling was that part of the room has been taken for the elevator peer. The noise from the elevator was not so bad, however, when it stopped on our floor you could hear it very well. We were disappointed from the breakfast. It was very poor even for a 3 star hotel with no omelets or bacon or any type of hot food and with no vegetables at all. The Camelia hotel is situated between 2 different metro lines and close (but not too close) to Termini Station. Very clean hotel, nice staff and good breakfast. Rooms are pretty small, but very nice. I travel a lot and I'll definately recommed this hotel for everybody!

In our opinion this hotel was clean, reasonably well located, gave us a big room, the staff was helpful, and served a good breakfast. A downside is that the TV didn't work that well, but you don't go to Rome watch TV, do you? We'd stay there again.

Staff are only happy to meet your demand as much as they can. Able to walk to most of the main attractions - colosseo, trevi fountain, spanish steps, etc. We got the metro to Vatican but it is walkable - single fare is 1 euro.Bus fare - 75 cent. Or get a one day pass for 4 euros on bus/tram/metro but you see more of Rome by foot. I could have walked to vatican and back but my 15 year old was tired the third day in rome after visiting many other attractions by foot on day 2. Try and buy most of needed groceries including water, from the supermarket. we spent a fortune on water first 2 days as they are so expensive at tourists area + very hot weather in August. Another conad store at termini where you can get hot pizza at a fraction of the price of that of local restaurants. Plus water fountain are drinkable. Avoid forex bureaux, they charge about 20% commission. Use cash machine instead(check your bank's charges) if you run out of euros. Better to change in london, if possible. In all, i'll visit rome again and will definitely stay at Hotel Camelia! Read more

We furthermore found expedia to be extremely helpful and they answered any queries we had very quickly. Rome is a very beautiful city and as long as you enjoy walking you can see most of 'the sights easily, the metro is very good and cheap as well. We found that we had to be careful with people who were dressed up around the collesum as they tricked people out of money if u took any pictures of them with your camera so be careful. If you love architecture you'll love Rome and 'the city itself will not disappoint, the only aspect we found disappointing was the food. It was very expensive and unfortunatly did not live up to the level we expected, we found it very different to the 'italian' food as we know it here. Rome however is definitely worth a visit. Sehr freundlicher Service. Wir hatten ein 3er Zimmer gebucht, und bekamen 1 Nacht ein 1er und ein 2er Zimmer. Am nächsten Tag hatten wir ein sehr grosses 3er Zimmer und da es nicht geklappt hat am Ankunftstag, bekamen wir eine Flasche Proseco aufs Zimmer!

테르미니역 옆에 있어서 어디든 다니긴 편합니다. 아침식사는 잘 나오고 조용한 곳에 위치하고 있어요. 오전엔 호텔 앞 골목에 시장이 열리더라구요. 침대는 괜찮은데 세명이 묵다 보니 한명은 소파배드였어요. 늦은 시간에 샤워는 자제해야 합니다.

Prisvärt hotell med helt OK läge. Bekvämt om du tar bussen till/från Termini st och flygplatsen då det endast är ca 5-10 min promenad till hotellet. Ca 20 min till Colosseum och 25-30 min att gå till gamla stan men bussar (bl.a. nr 40 och 64) går från Termini (där även alla hop on-hop off bussar går från). Frukosten som ingår är god och går mer än väl […] att äta sig mätt på. Rummen är små men rena och har det man behöver (kylskåp, kassaskåp, garderob). Hade varit trevligt med en balkong. Bra städning och personalen är rätt hjälpsamma. Tänk på att det tillkommer en lokal skatt (2 Euro per natt och person) som måste betalas kontant vid utcheck. Ett tips till er som åker med Terravision till och från flygplatsen: Har ni köpt t&r biljett från flygplatsen så måste man gå in i Terracaffé (vid hållplatsen) och få ett boardingkort för att komma med bussen! Vi trodde att returbiljetten berättigade oss plats på bussen men så är icke fallet! Otroligt dålig information och busskaos kostade oss två förlorade bussbiljetter och en taxiresa, men framförallt en väldigt stressig situation. Så ha buss- och skattsituationen i åtanke vid ert besök så kommer Rom-resan bli jättetrevlig som den annars var för oss. Read more

Notre chambre donnait sur une cour intérieure donc pas de bruit de voiture mais nous entendions le ronflement d'une machinerie lorsque la fenêtre était ouverte. Fenêtre fermée ce n'était pas genant. Excelente alternativa, lindo, limpio, atento su personal. La unica contra que le encontre es que nos dieron una habitacion del ultimo piso, la misma recibe el calor durante el dia y se acumula. Por otra parte tiene ventanas en el techo y se filtra la luz por la mañana.
