I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Although it rained for our entire stay, the staff was wonderful, and I really felt that I was in such a natural environment I didn't mind it at all. The hot tub with volcanic water was awesome and a great way to finish our days.

The hotel is a lovely spot on the outskirt of Fortuna off the road leading to Lake Arenal. Great view of the volcano. Very relaxing stay helped by a very friendly staff. Hot water pool and regular pool.

Probably overpriced for what you get very quiet setting and too quiet for the younger set. Couple miles out of town so $10.00 taxi needed each way. We were four guys on a week without the families (we are not spring chickens) so my friends gave me grief for picking a "romantic" spot. However, it is close to town and to the Arenal activities. The rooms are great and the private hot springs (where they will bring you beers from the restaurant if you ask) are a great way to relax and meet the other […] guests. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate. The front desk staff was excellent. The room needed updating. It was very dark with inadequate lighting. Ceiling fan had stopped working so they removed it instead of replacing it. They left the wiring and switch behind. AC was very noisy when it started and stopped. The bamboo curtains in the rooms were inadequate. […] At night you could see right through them. Anyone walking by your room could look right through the curtains. We had to change clothes with the lights out. We stayed four nights and had to ask for fresh towels on two different occasions. One day they picked up the old towels and left us with none. It was late when we returned to the room and I had to go up to the front desk to pick up towels. The only reason I rated the upkeep as high as 3 was because of the grounds. The flowers, shrubbery and views were outstainding. I would not stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend it to others. Read more

Especially the chef, Benidictu, who not only fixed great dinners but personalized our selections and was a welcoming, gracious, and entertaining host! This overcame the shortcomings of the limited hours for the hot springs access and inoperable ceiling fan in our room. I'd go back.

Good services. The manager took my husband to the hospital immediately when hurt his forehead in the swimming pool in the evening, stayed with him and brought him back to the resort. Good breakfast and nice ground. The hot spring was nice too.

My boyfriend and I (24 years old and both originally from England) stayed at Kokoro this year for New Year's and had a fantastic time! Arrived at an obscene hour in the morning (1 something) and the manager got up to check in and was still very friendly and very helpful despite the disrupted beauty sleep. Had New Year's dinner at the hotel which was […] lovely as well and enjoyed fireworks. The hotel was very helpful with suggesting fantastic tours and driving us to various restaurants around La Fortunate. A story to sum up our experience: towards the end of our stay, our hot water stopped working. Every effort was made to try and fix this, but because it wasn't fixed before we wanted to take showers in the evening, the manager handed us another room's key and told us to use that shower at our convenience (could move over or just walk over to use the shower) until the water could be fixed. Fantastic! So helpful and lovely. Would recommend to anyone and hope we get to go again soon! Read more

We stayed here for 2 nights in December. Location was excellent for viewing the Arenal Volcano from the pool. Great breakfast every morninng. Extremely helpful when it came to booking our rafting trip. Bed was comfy. Overall, very nice. About a 10 min drive to Fortuna.

I stayed here at the end of December, right after Christmas. We came to see the volcano but it rained the whole time so we never caught a glimpse of it. Fortunately the hotel staff was very friendly and recommended other activities in the area, and even helped us book tours that picked us up from the hotel. The Kokoro was great! The first impression I got was "WOW" from the landscape, natural beauty, and even the service. I really enjoyed having a cabin secluded and not attached to any other visitors, I felt very private and relaxed. Terrain: What I thought was pretty cool is the landscaping, you can tell the owners put a lot of $ into it, they even invested […] in a man made hot spring which was just great after a long day of hiking. Rooms: The cabins were all wood. The bathrooms were huge compared to other hotels. The downfall was the dampness - BUT its expected since they are in the cloud forest and its always raining (in 3 days we got maybe 30 mins of sun). Another downfall is that I found a few bugs in the bed... Service: Great service, everyone was super helpful! The staff offers you lifts & pickup to and from La Fortuna downtown for less than the taxi drivers. The breakfasts were super tastey, you get 3 choices - I recommend the waffles! One thing to be careful - one staff member who drove us into La Fortuna charged us double what another staff member charged us the next night -- I felt like we got ripped off. Other: Free Wi-Fi in the lobby; About 5 min drive to La Fortuna main downtown area. Tips: Bring a poncho if you want to hike and explore. Bring bug spray. Only take the red taxis. Try "The Lava Lounge" for drinks and food. Try paying in Colone so you don't get ripped off. Read more

Nice landscaped grounds, rooms as expected, comfortables. Excellent location, close enough to La Fortuna but not too close. The hot water pools are relaxing after a day of activity although a bit murky but we did not care. Excellent food, friendly peoples, good service. Merci pour la mise à disposition de thé, café, fruits dans la journée à l'accueil, La chambre est immense, une vraie maison, […] avec clim, Wi fi, coffre fort, frigo, télé, de vrais rangements (armoire et commode), une petite terrasse avec banc, des serviettes de piscine disponibles à l'accueil... ainsi qu'une déco soignée et le tout est propre. La saison commence à être calme (fin avril), nous étions donc peu nombreux, et très au calme. Il peut se faire que lorsque l’hôtel est complet, le soir et le matin soient un peu bruyants, les maisons sont en bois et pas très bien isolées du bruit, de toutes façons, les oiseaux seront déjà en train de chanter partout autour...Petit déjeuné servi en partie à l'assiette et en partie en buffet, tout dépend du remplissage de l’hôtel à mon avis ( boisson chaude, jus d'orange, céréales, œufs, toasts, fruits...). Et pour finir, les sources chaudes, un vrai régal, difficile d'en sortir, plusieurs hauteurs d'assise sont aménagées et on peut s'y allonger, l'endroit est enchanteur et calme (ici pas de musique ou de fête et c'est tant mieux).
