This was a nice B&B with a friendly staff. From the location you can walk around 15 minutes down the the waterfront and enjoy the restaurants there. The breakfast was good. I would recommend this place.

For similar price to the George and The Riverside, this is a better bet although it is out of town. Main positive was one of the receptionists who was very helpful (gave me a heater as I was cold, found my welcome rewards number for me and linked 2 separate bookings so I didn't have to move room). However the other receptionist would only do the minimum she could get away with! 2 negatives for me: 1) the shower was a mixer tap so it was difficult to get a reasonable temperature. It was either boiling or freezing. 2) The restaurant was very cold despite all radiators being on.

This b&b is located in a rural area, but not far off the A14 highway. It is situated on a large tract of land, with a great deal of wildlife presant, particularly pheasants. The room was quite nice, with a coffee/tea maker and a tiny refrigerator. The full English breakfast was excellent, cooked to the guest's desire. The location is about a 40 minute drive to Cambridge.

We stayed in this hotel 28 years ago so I couldn't resist booking it when we happened to be in this area again. The place is very cool if you're into old buildings, but our superior room had battered furniture, tired decor and a showerhead that felt like being sprayed with a firehose in a bathroom that needed an update in every way. The room was also […] very warm (April) so I can't imagine it in summer. We stayed in this hotel nearly 40 years ago, when it was a Trust House. Although the trip as a whole was fine, the hotel is not what it was. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was quite small, and overlooked the rather loud kitchen extractor which switched on at 7.30 am! This was probably because there was a wedding taking place at the […] same time, which filled most of the available accommodation - I hope this room is only sold as a last resort! Our room was not serviced on the middle day of our two-night stay. The hotel management reduced the bill for one night because of this.Long Melford is an attractive village in a beautiful part of the country - one of the reasons for returning. The room was lovely, breakfast tasty and copious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Only gripe would be that there was a wedding receprion in the hotel both nights we were there, so it was very noisy; however to be fair the room was pretty well soundproofed, and the music did finish at around half midnight. Beautiful village to stay in too.

Nice Clean freindly environment. Very busy with many events going on which was good to see. Vegetarian food option was not brilliant! However food was excellent nicely presented.

We were very diappointed in the very tired condition of the hotel. Our first room was susceptable to noisy refridgerator units all night and smells emminating from the dustbins stored directly below our windows. Our second room was much better, but had very limited fresh air i.e. only one small opening window and no extractor fan in the internal bathroom.
