Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport - Mumbai

The hotel was beautiful and there was nothing to complain about regarding the rooms. However, we had a major problem with the customer service. We booked 2 rooms through Hotels.com. When we arrived at the hotel late at night after nearly 30 hours of travel, our rooms were not available! Apparently some guests who were supposed to check out that day […] had trouble with their visas, so the hotel let them keep their rooms another night, even though we had already made and paid for a reservation! We ended up spending a lot of time in the lobby trying to sort out the mess. They were eventually able to open up a room for my husband and I, but our boss was put into an office room with a roll away cot to sleep on! Then they woke him up around 3am and told him they finally had a room ready! We had to be up and out to the airport at 6:30 am, so we ended up getting very little sleep due to the inconvenience. The manager was supposed to contact us to personally reconcile the issue, but we never heard from him. Read more

Rooms and other things were good, but I have never been charged for airport to hotel shuttle nor for wifi. Especially in a hotel at this cost. There seemed to be an additional charge for little things that come with a business hotel. You cannot go outside the compound because there Is no sidewalk or anything else. Surounded by majo slum.

Positive points. Helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Negative points. Even as a Priority club member, still had to pay for internet. Had to sit in lobby at checkout time and endure very loud live concert. Shuttle ride to airport was expensive.

The 10 minute taxi to the internal was more expensive than our 1 hour trip from Colaba. The location is not good; it's convenient since it's close to the international airport however there are hotels closer to the airport where you don't have to deal with a lot of traffic. This ultra modern hotel is very pleasant inside, great staff and a good restaurant. The terrace pool was awesome. One of the few hotels I have been to that has a good gym with good equipment. The only drawback is the surrounding neighbourhood.

I have stayed here multiple times this year and each time the service level seems to get worse to such an extent this will be my last visit. The hotel itself is of good quality, the rooms are too. The location is noisy and the surrounding area is not so good but was never an issue in returning. My gripe is the service. High rates charged for airport pick-up too and also for internet. The restaurant quality also seems to have suffered with the buffet choice not as good as my first experience but that has not stopped the price increasing. I stayed elsewhere on this trip with a hotel of what I would perceive a lower quality but the service was 10 times better than the HI. It really brought home just how poor this hotel now is. If you're idea of a Holiday Inn is a slightly run down budget hotel with stale coffee in the lobby then think again. This is a state of the art hotel with a lobby that equivalent to a five star hotel. The room was standard Holiday Inn but much larger than usual with a flat screen TV and glass desk. A window in the bathroom allowed me to lie in the tub […] and watch TV at the same time. A separate shower was a bonus. The landscape is typical Mumbai city outside the window and the construction of a new metro outside makes for considerable traffic congestion in the street outside. I stayed at this hotel one overnight waiting for a next morning flight. The hotel is located in a very busy, dirty area of Mumbai. Yet, when you enter the property everything changes. Nice and clean lobby, friendly and helpful staff and comfortable rooms. This is a great place to stay if you need to catch an early flight.
