We arrived late and our room type wasn't available and they couldn't find our prepaid booking. Was resolved quickly and in a positive manner. Upgraded the room and we were in bed asleep 10 minutes later. Breakfast at 5 am was toast, cookies, apples and coffee. Not a continental breakfast. More like a snak table.

I liked that the rooms were inexpensive and included breakfast. When we booked, they said that they had plenty of cots available but when we arrived, found that a cot wouldn't fit in our room and they provided a foam cushion for our son on the floor. They delivered it instantly, but I would have booked another room if I knew in advance that he would be sleeping on the floor. It was easy to stay there with my family as everything I needed was at hand. The pub (bar) was a bit weird as it's not finished and was an uncomfortable setting even though it's temporary. It was a bit far from the Edmonton Mall.

Hotel attendant service was great, rooms were cleaned, continental breakfast was exactly what was expected. Beds, however, were quite hard. Also, we were charged $20 per person for having two people extra (4) for a two double room. We registered with 4 people to begin and was not informed of this charge.

Though this is an older hotel, we found it to be very clean; the staff was friendly and accommodating; the location for our requirements is perfect; the bed was fantastic (I wanted to take the mattress home with me); the nightly rate was very fair. I enjoyed the stay. I was in Edmonton for a doctor appointment for my daughter and needed somewhere not to expensive to stay. The room was big and that was my biggest concern cause my daughter is in a playpen. The price was excellent. Staff was very nice!! Will definitely be staying there again when we go back for another doctors appointment!

The advertise that they allow pets, but if you have a pet you have to stay in a smoking room. They don't advertise that. It stunk and all my stuff picked up the smell from the room. aargh!!!

Though the hotel was reasonably clean, the rugs were worn, the washroom was from the 1980's, and it is right on the corner of a busy intersection in a very industrial area. The room was huge, but most of the furniture was also circa 1980's.

This hotel was a great surprise. I booked the cheapest place in Edmonton as a buddy and I were just looking for a place to crash after a concert. I was expecting a dump. I was very pleasantly surprised with the place. The room was absolutely huge (2 queens, a couch, a loveseat and ample extra space). Room was clean. Mattresses were the right firmness. When I first arrived at the hotel entrance I was a bit worried that my room would reflect outside (hotel was located in a strip mall), but to my surprise the room was spacious and rather comfortable, and the staff were very pleasant. Once I arrived at the hotel I was informed that they do not allow cats (I had two and a dog - moving from another province). Then they also said I would have to stay in a smoking room but I do not smoke. The front desk associate let me see how the room smelled because of being sensitive to the smell of cigarette smoke, the room had an extremely overwhelming […] smell of cigarette smoke and appeared quite outdated. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE SERVICE OF THE HOTEL AND HOW HELPFUL THE STAFF WERE. THE ROOM CLEANED EVERYDAY IF WANTING TO USE TV THEN THERE IS SO MUCH CHOICE THE ROOM WE STAYED IN WAS ENOUGH ROOM FOR THREE ADULTS GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY SITUATED CLOSE AMENITIES AND ID HAVE NO PROBLEM STAYING THERE AGAIN

The sheets were threadbare. The decor was... Dark and hasnt been updated in a very long time. Beds were old and they had navy blue towels... I'm assuming to hide stains. Gross. HOWEVER: This hotel was conveniently located, and had good service. Everyone was friendly.

I went to stay a night at this hotel during my brief visit to Edmonton. I had booked my room in advance through hotel.com and when I arrived the front counter staff had my information with him. Room was clean and comfortable and it was peaceful as well. Staff was good and friendly. They also provide complementary breakfast, which I did not take as I […] was getting late for my appointment. Got free parking spot and they had bar and mcdonald nearby in case if anyone wants to grab something to eat but make sure you go there before 10:00 PM as they close after that. We have been there a few times and every time we come to Edmonton from now on that is where we will stay. The rooms are big,clean and quiet and they can accomodate our dog. It is easy to get anywhere from their location.

This is a very nice hotel. Free continental breakfast was a nice surpise. Did NOT ask us to 'book direct' the next time. The staff was VERY NICE. Will go there again for sure if they maintain the price/service through hotels.com.

I stayed at the Argyll Hotel 30 years ago. Not the same place today! It very well presented. The room was clean, spacious (nice to sit on a chesterfield and watch TV instead of the bed), and the bed was comfortable. It was like being in a suite instead of a hotel room. Definitely would recommend the hotel to anyone.

I stayed 2 separate nights and found both to be problems both nights. There were sequins on the floor and stuck in the fibers of the coverlet on the bed. I'm guessing that vacuuming and washing didn't take them out. But still weird. And in both hotel rooms the toilets were annoying to flush. I really liked that the towels weren't white!
