"Great family hotel"
The view was fantastic and well worth the stay. Great place for families with activities and play areas. We had a great time and look forward to returning in ski season. Food was quite good as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great spot at the end of the road"
Though the Viktoria is primarily a winter ski lodge, we stayed during the "off-peak" summer season. The Alpine views from our balcony were worth the price alone. The hotel itself is very nice - I don't think the pictures here on the sight really do it justice. The staff is top notch, especially the enthusiastic restaurant staff. Our only concern about […] the hotel was that it was at the end of the road, which means that you have to go through several kilometers of winding (but paved) roads to get there. It was worth the drive, all the same. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel overall with a lovely view of the valle"
Very nice hotel rooms as even a single room had a beautiful balcony with a view of the valley. Fairly close to Meringen via the cable car but each trip will cost a lot especially if you are traveling in a group. Decent value for half board meals; can get crowded when they are catering groups.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Basically O.K. but details disappointing"
I booked this hotel, because I wanted to explore the Reichenbach Falls etc in nearby Meiringen and the price was more reasonable than the Meiringen hotels. The room was basically attractive and I cannot fault any of the facilities. However details were disappointing : a) On 2 walls pictures (or something else) had been removed but the screws/rawplugs […] left (6 in total). It would have been a 20 minute job to remove these and fill/paint, where they had been. b) I had a balcony. Usually this is a real bonus but on mine :: The paving stones and the concrete of the raised flower bed needed a good power wash - not rocket science, if you're bothered about your guests' experience). It just looked "mucky" out there The raised bed had been lined with turquoise plastic. That's O.K. but the soil level had sunk (as it always does), had not been topped up and this had left left mucky, soil encrusted plastic visible. Additionally some of the plants had definitely died. Give the gardening and maintenance staff a good talking to...... or replace them....... or perhaps the hotel simply needs to invest more in detail. The receptionist was very helpful - full marks there - but if you have a heavy suitcase(as I did) don't accept her recommendation of taking the cable car back to Meiringen - there are SIXTY stone steps, which you'd have to lug your suitcase up, to reach the station. The post bus may be slower but it's delightful and a real scenic experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Two night stopover"
Very friendly staff - the Maitre d' at breakfast especially so. All staff we met spoke English which was helpful to us. Modern hotel, a long walk down a hall to our room. Room was lovely with a Balcony overlooking the valley below. Quite rooms. Excellent restaurant and staff. Try the sport salad with fish.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Service not the best!"
We were only staying here one night as we were travelling around. As a result of travelling all day we arrived at 9pm after struggling to find the place - it really is off the beaten track and the GPS is useless to find it. As I was checking in I asked about getting something to eat and the girl on reception said the restaurant closed at 9pm. I asked […] if seeing as it was just 9pm, there would be any chance of still being able to get something and she didn't even offer to ring them to ask - I had to run up the stairs to the restaurant myself where I was advised after some convincing that all I could get was a plate of cold meat. Needless to say I wasn't very impressed!!! Could have been a little more friendly and helpful especially as there was nowhere in the surrounding vicinity of the hotel to get anything either!

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful, not only finding us a room despite our booking going missing, but also accommodating an extra night when we asked for it. The atmosphere in the hotel is very cool. Think 1970s ski chalet - timber everywhere, retro bathrooms. It's awesome! The view from the very comfortable rooms is magical as well. We literally just went and got wines and cheeses from the supermarket down in Meiringen and sat on our balcony watching the view which was always changing. The breakfast was good. It's not a massive buffet like you would get at a Sofitel, but fresh breads, meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, jams. Was a great start to the day for us. This place gave us what was seriously one of the most memorable parts of our holiday. Simple and lovely.

It's right beside the Gondola station and has a fantastic view from the terrace. About a hour fron Luzern and around two hours from Furka and Grimsel pass. It locates in the middle of the high mountain area so it rained too often during our stay but there was a big play room where kids are playing as long as they want. The Breaskfast was good with designated table along with each room's name tag and also could enjoy the panorama view of the snow capped maountain during the meal. We stayed at the family room divied into two rooms with really affordable rates. Although there was no bathtub we didn't feel any inconvinient because hot water shower was always possible. I strongly recommend this hotel if you drive in Switzerland.
"Fabulous views elevate hotel to excellent"
03/21/14 Kateg28 Hertford, United Kingdom
The hotel itself is fine, decor okay, amenities ok, I guess it is excellent for a ski hotel (we were on driving trip in August). The staff ranged from ok to excellent. Food was fine. But The views from the balcony were breathtaking. We could see Mount Eiger and the. Reichenbach Falls and then down the valley. We arrived in bad weather with a lot of fog but then the dune started to poke through and sunset and sunrise were truly magical. We will stay here again if only for the view. The view gets 5 stars, the hotel gets 3 so hence the 4 stars
"Good hotel, lovely view"

I stayed here with my husband in September during a week long Europe trip for my birthday. The hotel is in a lovely location quite high up the alps with impressive views. We arrived at night in clody/foggy conditions and the single track road to the hotel was a bit scary bit it was fine in the morning daylight with less fog. Check in was simple the staff were polite, quick, didn't talk much but fairly friendly. The room was down a few floors from reception, the corridors did have a sort of basement feel to them, they felt very dull although there were some sky lights. The room was a good size with a balcony and an impressive view of the mountains, if it wasn't so foggy I'm sure it'd be even more spectacular. The room walls were wood paneled which can sometimes look dated but they fit with the Swiss wooden chateau feel. The bathroom was a "wet room" which seemed to always be wet in one area near the sink other than that it was clean. There was free wifi in the lobby but it got quite busy with other people using it and lost connection after a few minutes so we gave up and went back to our room. Breakfast was served in an upstairs room with a nice view of the mountains. The food was OK, typical continental breakfast, bread, cold meats, croissants but they also had scrambled eggs and bacon which was a nice addition. Overall I think the hotel was fair value with lovely views (spoilt by unfortunate weather).
"Wonderful views from our room's terrace"
10/20/13 Susan S San Antonio, Texas
We stayed 2 nights in this lovely hotel which was in Hasliberg-Ruiti. There is also Hasliberg-Goldern just down the road a few hundred feet. They are both located above the town of Merrigen. The gondola is located right across the street from the hotel. The bus from the train station will take you to the top of the mountain where it is located. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast is wonderful and the staff is very kind and helpful. Our room was right next to the gondola so ask for a room a little further down from it and you will have a better unobstructed view. Our view was still great, but it was very close to the gondola and it's huge pillar. We found this spot by a report that the view was one of the best in Switzerland and they were right!!!

We were there for 4 nights,it was difficult to find the hotel. Check exactly the street name for the GPS before you go. Very clean, nice staff, beautiful location. The prices for food and drinks a little bit expensive. In all very good. If we are again in that area We will go there for sure.
"Good for families"

We stayed here for a couple of nights, and were very happy with the hotel. Our family room was clean and spacious, and the children's sleeping area was separated from the main room with a curtain. There were great views from the balcony, and the newly refurbished play area was excellent. We took the half board option and the food was good - even the picky eaters in our group found plenty that they liked! The staff were always friendly and helpful. Considering it cost less than some other local places with shared bathroom facilities, the Hotel Viktoria offers really good value for money.
""A fantastic taste of Switzerland""

We had an excellent 5 day break at this hotel. The room was very good, spacious with an excellent view from the balcony. Early morning your attention is drawn to the stunning view of the Eiger and at night there is the flood lit Reichenbach falls. For a snap shot of typical Swiss life take a walk around the village. Staff were very helpful from room cleaner to the manager. Breakfast was very substantial and the restaurant has a good selection for dinner. I would suggest that you will need a car if using this to view the sights of the area, which can be hectic and filled with tourists. It was nice to get back to the peace and quiet in the evenings. Even on a chilly night we sat outside beside a flaming fire enjoying the last glimpses of the sunset.

We stayed for 1 night at this place. Rooms were quite big. No tea/coffee maker was available in the room. The view of the Alps from the balcony was amazing. We wished that if we could have stayed longer. It’s located in a sleepy town. You hardly come across people there. Walking around the place is great. Breakfast was good, welcome change was puri sabzi . Dinner was great, Goan fish curry in Hasliberg was amazing. Staff was very friendly always with a smile.
"Grea view of Alps from Viktoria, hasliberg"
06/04/13 Ritesh C Pune, Maharashtra, India
We were @ viktoria for 4 days, nice hotel with amaizing view of the ALPS, hasliberg is a small Town and great to have a walk around the hotel. Its a picture perfect town and so is the view of the alps this hotel offers. Transit could be an issue if u do not have own vehicle.....however its convenient to go to lusan, interlaken, jungfrough, Mt. Titlis, Rhine falls, Schiltron, trumbleberg falsl and Mt Pilatus from here if u have own vehicle. so this is a good place to camp in if u want to visit above destinations without changing hotel each time.
