City hotel has a great location, close to lots of Derry attractions. Hotel is well appointed and has friendly, helpful staff. Staying here was worth the money. One thing that was downright silly was the internet access scheme. Each room gets one wifi voucher with 4 random passwords, and half a page of registration instructions. The voucher can only […] be registered one time, so if you use your smart phone, the want to upload a days worth of pictures from your camera via a laptop - you are out of luck unless you spend another 8 GBP. And, the registration is not simple or fast. In all my travels, this has to be the single weirdest Internet acces I've seen. Read more

My husband's family lives in Derry, and we stay in the City Hotel when we visit. I can't think of anything negative to say. It is definitely worthwhile to pay for breakfast with your room because their breakfast buffet is excellent. The staff is friendly, and the location of the hotel is great for walking around Derry. If you like a morning walk as […] we do, there is a footpath around the river right outside the hotel. Our room had an incredible view of the River Foyle and the new Peace Bridge. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. Although the hotel hosts parties on the weekends, the rooms are still quiet. What more could you ask for? I would also like to add that Derry is an amazing city to visit. It is inexpensive compared to most of Ireland (taxis are very cheap), and the city is beautiful and friendly.The murals are amazing and a must-see. Don't forget your high-wind resistant umbrella! the hotel is in a great location close to everything but there is a limited number of parking spots and you have to pay. if no spot is available. the lot ajdacent to the hotel closes at a certain time and you cannot retrieve your car and will be charged an overnight rate.....this was a problem........

Hotel receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful, arranged car parking in the nearby closed car park when hotel carpark was full, made dinner booking, gave advice on what to do and see, great attitude. Hotel in good location, standard room double bed is small.

The location of this hotel is perfect, and within walking distance to all the city has to offer. The rooms are very clean and spacious, as is the bathroom. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A big plus is the use of the gym, sauna, and a great pool. Will stay here again

The hotel itself is situated in a prime location for anyone looking to benefit from Derry/Donegal. The staff were friendly and were always pleasant, with a good knowledge of the area too. The room, whilst slightly on the small side was clean and comfortable.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff- They were absolutely superb and could not be more helpful. The room on the 4th floor had lovely views of the city and the peace bridge. The breakfast was efficiently served and was excellent, especially the white pudding!! Very nice hotel, close to city centre, good facilities and very pleasant staff. Small underground carpark on a first come first served basis. Lovely little swimming pool. Lovely breakfast and evening meal although meals a bit pricey. Had requested a family room which was huge with two double beds which our son loved.

The room was so hot it was uncomfortable and had it been sunny it would have been unbearable. Dirty cup in the room for 3 days, and no shampoo's etc replaced. Would never want to stay there again. Although receiption staff very nice

This hotel is in the best location in town convenient for the river, the Peace Bridge and the walled city; it is possible to walk everywhere. The staff could not be faulted and overall standards were good. My only gripe: loud music on both Friday and Saturday nights when weddings were taking place (I was on the 3rd floor).

Stayed here 2 nights in May on room only. Our room was initially opposite the lift but we asked to change to a quieter location and this was done quickly and without fuss. The City Hotel is ideally situated for exploring the surroundings and is only a (Stone throw) LOL, from the Peace Bridge. However I did not get the room I had requested on my advanced booking but didn't complain. Yes good hotel, I will return before next Jazz Festival.
