The room is austere and the art on the walls is for sale. The B&B is quiet and peaceful in a great location. The staff is outstanding and the breakfast is world class. It is a place to stay, not a destination. No amenities except wifi and electric fireplace in room.

As a former Santa Cruz resident, I have to say this is the best alternative to the big Dream Inn a few blocks away that is at least $100 per night cheaper. Setting aside price and value, the hotel is very nice, staff/owner is pleasant and the breakfast is something you will not get at any other hotel/motel in Santa Cruz (including the pricer ones). […] It is full course with juice, coffee, fruit, different breads, and a full cooked to order entre. The location is ideal and only a short walf between the warf/ boardwalk and the Pacific Garden Mall. I took my boyfriend to Santa Cruz for his 30th birthday. I wanted a place the was quieter, but still within walking distance of the beach. The Pacific Blue Inn was perfect. Boutique style hotel, very nice modern room all amenities, including DVD's and music if required. the shelves in lur bathroom were quirky and useless but otherwise a very pleasant stay. The staff were pleasant and breakfast was fabulous. I would definitely recommend this for a "special' weekend away.

My wife and I wanted to take a quick getaway and she has never been to Santa Cruz and we found this place online. We stayed here in early December 2010. It's a modernized bed and breakfast. My wife and I were quite surprised how great the amenities were. The owner greeted us when we arrived and while he was gathering the keys and info, he asked us […] where we are from and where we were going to eat for dinner. He's a very nice guy. The courtyard is small and quaint. It's nice that they have a firepit with chairs. The room was better than expected. The bed was comfortable and plush. They had a flat screen tv and because it was cold at this time, they had an electronic fireplace to warm up the room. Seeing all of this, I wish that we could have stayed another night to enjoy the inn even more. Breakfast was excellent. The popovers are great! They had a cinnamon/sugar and powered sugar popovers. My wife and I could have eaten these all of breakfast. We both ordered different omelets which were both very good. The meals came with fresh fruit which was good and not too sour. The inn is about 5 mins walking distance away from downtown and 10+ mins from the boardwalk. The owner was nice enough to let us still park while we walked to the boardwalk and downtown. When we come back to Santa Cruz, we will definitely stay here again. Read more

This hotel is in a good location, centrally located between the wharf/boardwalk and downtown. Our room was spacious and modern and the courtyard was nice with a gas fireplace. But by far, the breakfast was the best part...it's included and it was delicious! The owner was also very helpful and gave plenty of good suggestions and information.
