"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Another Good Experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year.

Place stunk of Indian food and the housekeeping staff basically tried to bust into our room two hours before checkout time and we had to YELL at them to go the F away. Glad we kept the deadbolt on! You get what you pay for.
"good value"
clean comfortable room, TV, wake-up service, vendor snacks and drinks available, free ice. I just needed a place to sleep and this was it.
"comfort of room"
Heating system is inadequate for freezing cold weather conditions. It takes several hours for the system to respond to comfort requirements from time of taking occupancy when roomi is room is unheated . Sizable capacity toilet exhaust fan runs continuously thereby draining heat from room almost as fast as it is generated. Fan should be connected to […] the bathroom light switch with its on/off capability. Read more

"Welcome to the Curry hotel"
All in all it was fine but serious.....it smelled like curry throughout! Not bad it you like Indian food. I myself don't!
"Woof"
The rottweiler staying in the room next door barking through the night was super fun. I also enjoyed double locking the swipe door and putting a chair in front of it but it may have been kicked in previously because it wouldn't close tight. The guy at the front desk was a ball of fun while he was on his computer for 3 minutes before acknowledging me […] at the front desk to check in. The hotel is not a good value at all. Spend another $20 and sleep with both eyes closed in a safer spot. Read more
"The Hotel America's Best Value Inn in Whippany NJ"
The hotel was more of a motel and was in pretty shabby condition. That said the room was fairly clean - no bed bugs. I guess it was worth the rate we paid. I would stay there again because of the cheap price but I don't think anyone else would think the hotel was up to their standards. My biggest complaint was the smell of Indian food cooking. I personally […] do not like Indian food. Read more
"STAY AWAY!"
I typically don't write reviews, especially bad ones. Usually, I figure that people who write bad reviews have their standards set too high or just can't bear a little discomfort. However, this hotel is just plain bad. First, let me say that I arrived at night and the hotel was incredibly difficult to find because it is set back far from the road and […] its sign and exterior is unlit. I expected a hotel which would suffice for sleeping in for the night. I could forgive the large dents in the hallway walls, the pealing wallpaper, the flickering lights, and the minimalist lobby which consisted of a small room and what appeared to be the cheapest coffee machine the owners could find. I could have forgiven one electrical outlet being pulled from the wall. However, there were several including what appeared to be an exposed wire. In addition, the smoke detector's wiring was exposed and I could not be sure it was operational. The bathroom "light switch" was a cheap metal push button, which, given the exposed wire at one of the other power outlets, gave me pause. I never tested it out of fear of electruction. The wiring was likely the reason for why the TV didn't work as well. The room's heating and cooling unit was off when I entered the room, which was fortunate for the environment given that the door to the room's balchony was open and would not entirely close even upon several attempts. The chill of the room may have been bearable if the blankets on the bed consisted of more than the barest bedding. I am typically very willing to overlook issues and accept problems as part of the reason a facility is priced as it is. I have had plenty of satisfactory stays at cheap hotels. However, the sum of the problems was simply too great and I left the room and found another hotel. Read more

"America's Best - NOT"
The best I can say about this hotel is "the sheets were clean". The heating system did not work, I had to go and purchase a portable heater from Kmart. The room was dirty...dirt y fingerprints smudges on everything from light switch plates to doors to walls. Top for the toilet back was missing because when you flushed the toilet you had to reach in […] and pull the "float" up so the toilet would stop running. The hotel did have the advertised coffee and coffee pot however they did not porvide cups for the coffee. If you are looking for NOTHING more than clean sheets and a place to crash this is the hotel for you....if you want anything more I would not suggest it. Read more
