Very friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms a bit small but clean and highly functional. Big bonus is access to excellent gym next door. Can be busy near the holiday season as they have a lot of holiday/office parties, but the noise level from the revellers has not been too bad!

The hotel and staff all very good, friendly and attentive. Our only criticism was that there was a very poor selection of bar food and the quality of it left much to be desired, especially at hotel prices. Stayed here for 4 weeks, 3 nights a week on business. The staff are extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable when dining alone in the evening. There's a choice of a restuarant and a lounge bar within the hotel, both are of reasonable quality. The gym/pool adjacent to the hotel is great and complimentary for hotel guests. We were attending our daughters wedding . We had made a mistake with the booking as we wanted to stay 4 nights but couldn't get a ferry on the 26 th dec. we rang the hotel to see if we could move it by one day to 27 th but they wanted 180 pounds to change the dates for 3 rooms. So we ended up staying for 3 and paying for 4. The hotel was lovely but […] the beds are really uncomfortable and we had sore backs. We also found packet of tablets left by previous guest under curtain in room. The l main light also didn't work. Our room didn't get cleaned on the sat they did come to the door at 5 pm asking did we want it done. It was a bit late then. Read more

We booked this last minute with hotels.com The reception staff were fantastic, very helpful, friendly and accommodating! When we booked we were told that we had breakfast included, this wasn't the case but the shauna was very happy to help sort it out for us! Thank you! The breakfast service was pretty poor unfortunately, we got down at 9:30, breakfast […] service finished at 10, we had to ask for extra food, chef was 'arsy' to put it lightly, had to wait for table, print staff for coffee, milk, cups everything! Hotel is very nice, social areas nice, rooms good, could be improved standard wise, bulb was out etc. Overall very good and well worry the price we got on hotels.com! Booked this last minute as a family member in Barnsley is dying, so we came up from London, so we thought that we would book into the Holiday Inn overnight. When we booked in the receptionist told us that this was a quiet room, but the hotel has 4 events going on that day which included weddings and a private birthday party. Unfortunately the room was […] not so quiet as we had been put above one of the function rooms so all we heard until gone midnight was thumping music, and when you have a child with you as well as having a ling journey up from London all we wanted to do was sleep. Also with the private birthday party they had shut the restaurant so they had temporarily opened a room next to the bar which had about 8 tables in and 1 inexperienced waitress who seemed to only be able to take 1 order at a time so by the time she came round to take our order for drinks and meal it was at least 20 minutes after seating us. And then we had to wait nearly an hour for our food to come! I only booked Holiday Inn as it is a brand name but never again as when we told reception in the morning they didn't seem that bothered. So much wrong I couldnt fit it all in to the 1500 charachters alowed here. so here we go in summary. Internet -cable only, no cable in room, and told to collect one from reception as they were too busy to bring one up. Bed incredibly soft and lumpy and kept me awake, breakfast card for room service put on door at 8:30pm well before 11pm deadline, no […] breakfast served in morning and card still on door, when checking out stated that I had paid the amazingly high price for a breakfast that did not get delivered, they did not refund me but offered me an apple. very lazilly run hotel and buyer beware. The Pool is next door in the Leisure club. Children not welcome after 3pm. The Hotel plumbing is quite noisey. We were awakened twice during both nights. Apart from that, fine.

Det var skitigt bakom toaletten och ur kranarna kom så hett vatten (som inte gick att reglera) att jag brände mig. Det gick inte att duscha. Annars var personalen trevliga och så.
